  • I agree largely with you that those Baptist Church people in the student should be beaten severely not just the students.

  • Did you know that Police will use Agent Provacateer's to infiltrate protests to cause trouble so they can break up everything-Their their for a Reason-These are teh LITERAL tactics of law Enforcment so the protest doe'snt shed light on what is being Protested PERIOD

  • the brown shirts are coming

  • i agree with him, people need to find a different way to "protest`and laying in a tent doesn`t hurt anyone but them and i would go kick peoples ass with a baton also, people are stupid these days.

  • If people are told to back the fuck up or to not cross a line then that is what they need to do. Not say "lets push forward through the cops" Fuck that. Cops have a job to do. If your boss at work tells you that you need to hand in a paper by a specific time you're going to do it. Just like if cops are told to keep civilians from crossing a line then they are gonna do it.

  • @Maliheim who says the cops have a right to tell their employers where they can stand?

show me the law...section code annotated. you cant, because it doesnt exist. public property is public property. right to assemble is RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE.....of course, some nazis disagree.....

  • those officers should be beat in the head and in the nutts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's guilty by association. By defending his pig brethren he's aiding and abetting their illegal activities.

  • A good way to fight back is to take away there massive pensions

  • Wow very good job on this video please make more like this these police need to be identified not just shown thanks again and keep up the good work

  • of course people will say otherwise to my comments but that's how I see it. I grew up in a place where if you didn't want trouble you wouldn't go to where it was. I know it's suppose to be a "peaceful" protest but in reality, think of the officers. It's 50-300 officers vs 100-3000 people at these rallies. People are violent, destructive, and in crowds people are effected easily. There will be riots soon, i gaurentee it.

  • @RandomLevitation "People are violent, destructive, and in crowds"....especially when you give them guns, tasers, pepper spray, batons, and uniforms.....and PAY THEM TO BE VIOLENT....and give them paid vacations if theyre caught on film.....

    ZEIG HEIL!!! ZEIG HEIL!!

  • alot of these kids are spoiled, their parents paid for their $30,000 tuition for a year. They think they know the law, they think because an officer puts his hand on you instantly its assault by an officer. Grow up, don't point fingers. Don't go to where the officers are, and then when they attack you cause you didn't leave, you complain and make videos. It's like you see where the protest is on TV, Stay away if you don't want trouble.

  • Now, Granted I'm not a huge fan of officers. But it's like celebrities and paparazzis. When you protest, your putting yourself out there to go 1 on 1 with whoever your protestings first defence is, Which is Police officers. If you gotta backpack and civilian clothes and they got riot gear and chemical mace, Why even disurb them? Why confront them? I understand the fact that people want change, but don't confront someone that you know is known to cause brutality at a time like this, be smart

  • And he didn't explain it 100% but he explained it, in the basic terms in what happens.

Theirs a protest leader. If you protestors don't follow where the protest leader is, and your wandering and chanting and in cops faces, or when its time to move, and you sit there and refuse to move, you're no longer protesting with the movement, you're now interfering with the officers ability to keep things safe, Now, thats where you're in trouble.

  • jabbin' people with batons isn't necessarily violent, but peacefully protesting is according to them.

  • In response to the top comment, the same can be said for the nonviolent protesters; can the police just lump everyone in the same category for the actions of one protester? When a bottle is thrown or someone lashes out at the police, a recurring reaction is they feel it is justified to knock down everyone, to "jab" them with batons. This man did not know the entire circumstance to the protestors actions, that does not give him the right to assume the peace was broken.

  • seriously...people who do record conversations with police or whoever should have the ability to speak well and eloquently. No offense to the girl speaking, but honestly you sounded soo ....

  • ps the reason his salary was posted was to point out that he may not be considered part of the 99%

  • this was a very good cop to speak too. He gave the impression that they had been brought in only b/c historically speaking a large assembly of people who are protesting usually end up getting violent.

He doesn't defend the other cops, simply states what is in his training. nicely done

  • The protesters are all so propagandized that no one will stand up and fight these goddamn pigs. Viva La Revolution.

  • If the police wanted to move them with force, a riot shield would be safer... Just push them instead of jabbing....

  • The cop makes a great point but why are students being hit in any way for protesting when the westboro baptist church protests at peoples funerals and are protected by police

  • Doesn't make a difference what they do now or in the future, they have already proved what they're intentions are toward the people.

  • i would of got arrested fuck that if some cop hit me i would of pulled out my machette and chopped his fucking hand off ,fuck the police AUSSIE STYLES

  • Since when disobeying a cop deserves beating? I thought this was america, not Iran. Obedience to a cop is not the highest value. Order is not the highest value. Respect to human safety is. Otherwise, its a dictatorship.

  • @emiliob7878 THANK YOU. YES.

  • they weren't jabbin' they were stabbin'

  • I think this patrol man did a great job. It's clearly a thankless job,,Perhaps you should walk a mile in his shoes, or hos families shoes before you judge him.

  • So do what you are there to do, study/get an education and you won't have the cops jabbing batons in your guts.

  • @MidnightFlapper69 Are you stupid?? You saw those clips. That's not professional! If you think beating up on peaceful protesters is professional then your are a monster just like them

  • @micanalez

They refuse to listen to police orders to disperse from university grounds. The university has the right to order this type of action since it is a semi-private/public institution. The cop clearly explained the order in which action was taken. First they are asked nicely by the university. Then the police are called and are asked, since they have a position of authority, to command the crowd to disperse after which physical means are used.

What is so hard to understand???

  • @IngeniousFirefly What will cops do when there are 10.000 students? Kill them? Do you really think law enforcement is above health and safety? Is it really more important to enforce the law in that precise moment? Couldn't they just wait and solve things peacefully?

  • who's the prick who made this video?

having been to countless demonostrations in the bay, the sfpd and oakland police have been absolute professionals.

please, go live in a developing country with rampant police corruption, they'd take the video camera out of this girl's hands then have their way with her in the alley.

  • The point is this was a peaceful demonstration by youth not being set upon by a group of grown men/women let alone that they are LAW enforcement-awful I feel physically sick watching this-cannot believe it AND it's worldwide Sick

  • What about the right to assemble? They have to move? your contra, Dick.

  • Listen to how he said that he received a call from his lieutenant. All officers are debriefed before they go into any situation. He knew what had happened but aside from that, just for the hell of it, watch a video called "A Global Revolution to Overthrow Statism" by AdamKokesh here on youtube, and see how remotely similar they appear!!!

  • Wow that 'jabbing of batons' certainly looked overly violent to me - I think if I went and jabbed a baton like that at another citizen I may well find myself in court for ABH! I really think that the police need some re-training on the rights to peacefully protest, these are not violent people you are trying to bring to justice this is people trying to voice their concerns for the whole planet!

  • @babymandrake. I understand that u r upset. The police action in the video is pretty harsh, but did u even watch and listen to the entire video? If u think that cop is talking about what other police departments did prior to them getting there then u r 100% wrong. I was actually there and what drew my attention to him was that he drew a large crowd of spectators near his end of the line. U may not like cops, but he was articulate and was very reasonable. I just wish the author played his

  • @Ghoombie yes but did you even watch the other video? it seems very clearly that he's making the incident in the other video very mild and commonsense. I understand if you're one of his underlings this would be the best time to suck up, but no. He did not give enough reasonable answers

  • YOU CAN SEE AT 2:15 THERE IS A GIRL ABOUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN IN THE FRONT LINE THAT TAKES A REALLY HARD BLOW TO THE STOMACH. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND THE PIG THAT DID THAT AND BEAT HIM UNCONSCIOUS! THEN BREAK ALL HIS FINGERS SO HE COULD NEVER BE "NON-FUCKING-VIOLENT" AGAIN.

  • @pam2858 the problem is, would that make you any better then what he is?

  • @Ekas12345 The problem is that not only did they do those acts, they denied them and in such an idiotic way. That it is an insult to any rational person. A wrongdoing begets another, though it be unfortunate; punishment should be inflicted upon those who commit these acts and then blatantly lie about it. ( just because they are in a position of authority and are supposed to set an example, they should deserve worse than what they commit, which is why i said what i did)

  • @pam2858 Im not saying that what the policeman did wasn't brutal, but I mean the man that they interviewed hadnt seen the video, so how could he possibly have anything to say about that. I mean some people have a tendency to overreact when telling about events like this, so it can be hard to judge. Also swinging the tip of the stick at you, and bashing you on the side with it is very different things.

  • why did they put his name in the video...... it was a low thing to do!

  • @MrRoflbird Low my ass, people have the right to know who's beating their citizens.

  • This fucking COPS. Do they have brains? I hope ALL OF THEM GET FIRED AND THEIR LICENSE SUSPENDED. The fact that they even tried to defend themselves over something SOOOOO OBVIOUS. Fucking dumbtard. How do you live as a moral human being?

  • fuck their orders! people can stand in the street all they want!!

  • What a cocksucker.

  • Brandon your a fail as a cop like get the fuck outa this country fuck the pigs

  • i knew this video was fail when the first two words of the title are "cop explains..."

    lol

  • Jabbin' people with the baton is more harmful than hitting as you're supposed to. There's a reason why you're supposed to hit as you do with it.

  • you have a right to suck my D you fucking swines

  • The factor people are ignoring here is even if you disagree with the use of batons, and they can be nonviolent or violent depending on the use, this cop has a point. Its not like the cops storm in there and start beating people. By the time batons are used for some length of time the cops had asked the protesters to peacefully move to a different area, but they never did. When you refuse to follow police orders, what do you expect to have happen? Look at the context. Thumbs if you agree.

  • @Galastin except they arent "police orders"......police are the acting bitches for the banks now......before the OWS people would protest about various things as it is their right to free assembly ....now at every protest massive hordes of cops in riot gear and beating and pepper spraying peaceful non-violent protesters?

    c'mon man wtf?

cops need to jump on the bandwagon because their salary is shit and they are the bottom of the 99% ....stop being sheep for the 1% million-billion-trillionaires

  • @Galastin How about thumbs down for violating our first amendment, to peacefully protest ANY grievance with he government.

  • @brentsrx7 Relax man, he has a point and so do you....

  • @brentsrx7 Peacefully protesting as in fighting, kicking and blocking police officers? What kind of fevor dream do you live in, In these videos you can clearly see a aggressive stance taken towards authority. There is no difference between these people and terrorists.

  • @5ddyugi

I'm sorry to hear that you believe that students attending the US News and World Reports #21 ranked university to be "terrorists". Could you point out the time in this video or another from that day that involved these particular people "fighting" and "kicking" police? It appeared that even while hit repeatedly with a baton they still did not retaliate. Something that I imagine requires a fair amount of restraint. Possibly I missed something. Thanks for taking part in this discussion.

  • @5ddyugi Those who would sacrifice liberty for safety deserve neither.

  • Go cops. Without them, the U.S. would be chaos. Kids need a whooping every so often. Protesters need it too. They get so rowdy... Just soo stupid

  • @Hdiddyy i have a feeling that you think this way because it is the way your dad treated you or whatever monster raised you, nobody needs a whooping the way this system handles there problems is just gonna cause more hate. the u.s is already chaos by the way, it is just covered in a gild by the stupid box you sit in front of. so i would say that you are the one "just sooooo stupid

  • didn't know Ray romano is a police officer now

  • jesus fucking christ, you'd think the next big protest is gonna be a movement against law enforcement... stupid bitch trying to hold the cop accountable for what happened before he got there...

  • FUCK THE POPO!!!

  • Little less talking...and a whole lot more protest ass beating!!!

  • What does this cop's salary have to do with police brutality? He works in Oakland. Let that fact sink in for you.

Also, this man may not have been the best speaker but he was right to say he could not speak for what other policemen did. Should he be lumped together with all other cops? As a single police officer should he be responsible for all other cops' actions before he even shows up?

I don't mind making someone look bad when they deserve it, but this man did not seem to deserve it.

  • @kecharakittie He is, however, responsible for the actions of his fellow cops when he IS there. If the officer standing next to him is jabbing some kid in the ribs repeatedly with a nightstick, he could lean over and say, "hey bro, I think he got the message." If instead he joins in and some ribs get broken, he is legally responsible for some seriously pricy medical bills.

  • @TripeOner Don't forget the timeline facts. When did he get there? He arrived when everything had pretty much died down. It's dark. It's night. When had the abuse gone on? If you watch the video, it had occurred during the daylight hours.

Now, was the officer standing next to him jabbing some kid in the ribs repeatedly? No. The officer right next to him was listening to him politely give a girl the time of day for an honest interview. Was he jabbing kids? Didn't look like it. ^shown by video

  • @TripeOner If you listen to the interview carefully she asks him if he's seen the videos. He says no. She asks him if he knows what had happened before or why he was called. He says no. He says he came because his Lt. called saying some cops needed to be relieved who had been there all day. As far as he knew, he came to back up some good guys and maintain crowd control. He literally says he came so that ppl could talk the way they were now. He believed he had come to support the 1st Amendment.

  • @kecharakittie I'm more angry at the fact that he made it sound like it was OKAY and that they didn't necessarily go overboard. "You have your own perception...." Com'on, that video shows pretty clear of what happened. Unless he's blind of course.

  • @babymandrake What did he personally know before showing up to the scene? Do you know for certain he was shown a video of what happened before the interview started? Before he had arrived? Should he have taken that girl's word as gospel and started slandering his fellow officers without getting to personally see the facts? What video showed clearly what happened? The video he was in? Or the brutal videos he wasn't apart of posted all over Youtube before he had even gotten there?

  • @babymandrake And the answer to those questions are, no. He did not see the videos before he had arrived. As he clearly stated in this video interview. And no. He should not take a woman's word as gospel without being able to see the facts himself. No one should, ever. As for the other questions, you'll have to answer those.

  • @kecharakittie Over £100,000 a year for a cop is crazy!

  • Go cops for doing the right thing :)

  • Hey, the guy's right to a certain extent. It isn't NECESSARILY violent...but officers don't carry batons to gently nudge people. We all know what they're for.

But thank you to the officer talking to these protestors. These things should be handled with discussions, so kudos for talking.

  • OHHH you cut off the officer and did not let him explain himself. this video is invalid.

    I win

  • @AGorski07 nope you didnt win... u are a retard thats all

  • Of course he's gonna say that... He wants to keep his job, nobody is gonna go against there bread and butter regardless of how other people feel.

He's a faggot trying to feed his family regardless of right or wrong.

  • what would you rather? get jabbed with a baton? shot with a 45 caliber? maced? tear gassed? bean bagged? good old fashion kicking? ill take the baton, to anyone whose played hockey or lacrosse they should be used to it.

  • @atbf what would you prefer: not getting attacked by someone who is supposedly there to protect you or get pepper sprayed in the face/ flash banged/ hit with a baton?

  • i think the police should use guns and getting democracy out of the way. dictaitorship is best

  • Because jabbing someone with a baton hard enough to cause severe internal bleeding isn't violent...

  • So if i shoot a bullet and it hits you its not violence? Because swinging a stick and hitting someone supposedly isnt

  • All of you posting here are the SAME people who call and make a complaint when a cop drives past you fast on the Interstate, then the same day makes another complaint that when you called 911 the cop took too long to get there. Typical Liberals. No agenda and talking out of both sides of their open head.

  • @TaboriTattoo Try making an actual valid point next time. You know, something you can back up, something that you did not just make up. Maybe, for instance, a video that PLAINLY AND CLEARLY demonstrates the hypocrisy of which you speak. A video that demonstrates actual people, claiming those absurdities, rather than just blanketing everyone. Good luck.

  • These ppl need to think about why the government never beat other protesters but only OWS, cuz this movement is nonsense. What is the motive??? You guys still vote for Obama next year.

So, it looks to me like someone evil is behind all of this to start a "revolution" and to turn America into Communist or authoritarian state. Maybe Communist China is alrdy funding this movement.

  • they should have 40 8 month pregnant women line up to protest and lets see the devils show their true faces. Lets see if they jab...

  • thanks for an excellently edited video!

  • what do you expect they beat niggers all day long they don't know any other way to handle a situation.

  • Comment removed

  • @rumster01 fuck you, this pigs bacon is the only thing standing in the way of social justice.

  • $160k a year.....shows the life expectancy of 5-0 in Oakland

    (less than a year)

  • Its not violent. Dumb asses don't listen that's what happens.

  • I want to pose a question too ;D. There are about 10,000 murder incidents, 80,000 rape incidents, 350,000 robbery incidents, 750,000 assault incidents in the year 2010, I'm too lazy to account for fraud and car accidents, so how come the police have enough men and time to worry about a protest? And yes I know that those number are small compared to the American population and I hope nobody says that or else you might imply how insignificant human lives are...

  • The fact that they have guns and weapons is the threat of violence. When cops show up in force with war gear, that is threatening. That is oppression. They don't need to be there at all. Just having the weapons is violent and tyrannical.

  • fucking pigs

  • I wonder if the police know that their method of suppression by violence is soon going to drive the students to violence. Causing not only a vicious circle of infinite pain and injustice, but also also cause an uprising of some sort. It will only be after a complete rework of american politics by hook or by crook that we will see any change.

  • ok, since linking arms and making a human chain is not a nonviolent protest. The students should get batons, surround the police and jab back at the police because that is not violent.

  • Former Reagan Administration advisor Paul Craig Roberts says people who are attracted to police forces are bullies and sociopaths.

  • Is it non-violent to resist arrest? If you refuse to comply fine but when they come to carry you off you have to go limp and allow them to do so. To do otherwise results in the predictable use of force to remove you from where you aren't supposed to be. In a very real sense resisting arrest is inciting violence.

Watch the videos of the old time civil rights people they didn't resist anything and that is what made them powerful. Do it right or you lose.

  • What I don't understand is why people didn't just move the fuck away after the cops started to push them back? They're just provoking the cops to pepper spray/use violence so they can post these stupid fucking videos.

  • @anthcybo why should the police have the right to stop people expressing their views and to peacufully demonstrate?

The black nazi brigade with their stupid batons and their silly paint guns should go back to kindergarten where they belong

  • Thats not jabbing that spearing. Stuff like this were police abuse their power and shit like that almost makes be embarrassed to say I am an American.

  • government keeps warning us about terrorist. The only terrorist that the average American will ever see or encounter is the American law enforcement. Police are above the law. They R let loose on the public to plunder kill innocent people. The average policeman will kill children to keep their jobs. If I had choice to meet a terrorist or policeman in a dark alley I'd much rather meet terrorist because he would be less dangerous The American policemen are the most evil people on this Earth.

  • holy bullshit batman!

so much for "to SERVE (us) and protect (us)"?!?!?

  • BASTARDS!

  • so, let me pose this question....Americans now want to live in a country where the police can be ignored and citizens can do as they please.....can you imagine a country where Law enforcement must ask the citizens how and when they can act as Law Enforcers? A country with no laws, and citizens that can do as they feel....and protest as they want......would make for a very scary place to live.....Please people, use some common sense...when you defy the law, you risk getting hurt, and r asking 4it

  • @HershelAlan Yes. Police are not there to tell people what to do. Police are there to protect people. If students are gathering and nothing goes wrong until they show up, then there is a problem. The policeman's job is to enforce laws -- if only some of them actually knew what they laws were, things would go much more smoothly.

  • If you go to 2:23 you can see one the the officers KICKS the students. What is this ? street fight ?

  • I was hit with a baton in 1993 by a crazy security guard on the Cayman Islands...the problems still remain to this day.....

  • What and idiot...

  • "Jabbin' people with batons isn't necessarily violent..."

I heard some students had broken ribs after being repeatably jabbed with batons.

  • Should the oppressor try to grab anyone that person should slip backwards from the confrontation line and each other protestor should then push hard towards the oppressors disabling their grab attempt. By acting in a unit in this fashion you can hold a line and avoid being brutalised. wearing googles and a bandana as a filter you can next counter chemical attacks which focus upon breathing and the eyes. Its a very sad day to see this going on but dont be intimidated.

  • I should make some movies on how to counter act the police tactics here. First off protestors need to act as a unit. Do not link arms. face the side of your body towards the oppressor revealing as little of your body as possible. Keep your legs slightly bend and use your arm as a guard and be prepared to kick the oppressors knee very sharply to avoid damage to yourself should you be in danger. You should also wear padding to protect your ribs and side kidney area.

  • The only people acting out and hurting people are the police.

  • so.... jabbing at a cop with a baton wouldn't be considered asaulting a police officer since it's not considered violent?.....

  • is time to do mexican style riots and protest they hit us? we hit back simple as that but people are scared here! in mexico we be kicking and shit. is called self defense

  • Fuck those cops, bunch of pussies attacking unarmed people. Protesting is a god given fucking right. We are many, they are not! We will win!! 99%

  • @7MoonShine7 The cops aren't there to kill the cause, they're there to keep people from ripping each other's heads off. Without a little force from the law there would be more damage.

  • keep protesting dumbasses theyre making great money with all the overtime pay =)

  • jab me with a baton and id fuckin kill your ass

  • Stick with your brethren popo! of course....

  • i think when the cops start swinging at you and you've done nothing, it's time to bum rush em

  • how does jabbing people with batons make any sense??!! There are a hundred people behind You that have NO IDEA You need to step back because You are having Your RIBS BRUISED AND FRACTURED by police, who You've DONE NOTHING TO. -- bu tthe hundred people behind You are supposed to know they need to step back because You are shoving them by trying to retreat from POLICE ASSAULT.

  • zzz holding anything tats capable of injuring ppl and using it on ppl is violence....even using our own fists = violence.....

being aggressive and being violent is different thing.....

so jabbing baton isn't violent....then how bout i "jab" my rifle butt and "jab" it on his face. but hey look i'm jabbing the blunt part on ur face. i'm not violent.

  • I'm glad it's being exposed for the world to see.

  • Comment removed

  • Linking Arms = Violent act..... JABBING A BATON and physically hurting people and most likely breaking a rib or 2....= not violent according to police..... if it isnt a violent act...... then can i have a baton and jab police? they cant arrest me, im just jabbing you with a solid stick in your gut....

  • Without law and order a country cannot survive -Adolph Hitler

Of course the police are paid like doctors, otherwise they might not sell out to their corporate masters.

Next time someone starts in about underpaid cops, compare their wages to your own.

  • Without law and order a country cannot survive -Adolph Hitler

  • let me get this str8 you beat me with that club cause your masters said so but your protecting me cause your not really beating me your showing me your restraint? So while your beating me im suppose to understand this is for my own good?ok now i understand thank you for straightening that out in my mind !!

  • Why can't he just admit he's wrong? Is it cause it will cost him his job? I feel bad for that situation he's in, but come on

  • Comment removed

  • Footage he says he is not commenting on that. As far as baton use goes he doesn't say all baton use is non-violent. And he certainly is not saying the force police used earlier wasn't violent. On his behalf I have seen police use batons to keep crowds back from a closed off area and it wasn't violent.

  • The author believes the officer is speaking on the baton use that was used to move a group of protesters out of an area on UC Berkeley, but in reality the officer is speaking in generalities. The author misquotes the officer. If you listen he specifically states that he isn't commenting on the events that occurred prior to his teams arrival. By the time OPD arrived the protests was pretty much over with and there were just a handful of people standing around. If one looks at the video foota

  • this makes me so mad, i hate my present and future alumna getting hurt. seriously? jabbing people with batons isn't necessarily violent??????

  • Hi. I got jabbed with one of those batons. I would call it violent assault.

  • It depends on the definition of the word "is" is.

Insane Society Run Ruled Insane Enforcers.

  • I say lets 'jab' him repeatedly in the stomach/chest with the end of a baton and see if he say's it's violent or not! What a completely pathetic thing to say.

  • So...

    Linking arms = violence

Hitting people with a blunt weapon = not violence

    Makes sense

  • Not only does it hurt to be jabbed in the ribs or stomach or kidney. Hit the wrong place forcefully enough and someone's heart could be stopped. But I agree the Officer speaking was having a discussion without anger or attitude and did not allow it to escalate. While I disagree with some of what he says, I respect him for the calm discussion.

  • Though his reasoning is absolutely flawed, I respect this officer for discussing this as a human talking to another human. We need more of this on all sides of these situations. Communication is key

  • So this is why any idiot can become a pig.

  • yup not violent, oh yea, tottaly. i guess we can jab officers in the stomach too and it wont be consider violent in court too, right?

  • How absurd!! let's juxtapose these two statements by police about this incident:

"Jabbin people with batons isn't necessarily violent"

    and

"The individuals who linked arms and actively resisted, that in itself is an act of violence," UC police Capt. Margo Bennett said. "I understand that many students may not think that, but linking arms in a human chain when ordered to step aside is not a nonviolent protest."

    Welcome to 1984

  • Section 835.a of the Penal Code explains that the only “legal” use

of force by an officer is that used in order to attain an arrest. “Any

peace officer who has reasonable cause to believe that the person

to be arrested has committed a public offense may use reasonable

force to effect the arrest, to prevent escape or to overcome

    resistance.”

  • "Jabbin' people with batons isn't necessarily violent.." This officer has clearly never been "jabbed" in the ribs or kidney with a baton. That was probably one of the most ignorant statements I've heard in a while. Any instrument designed as a weapon and to inflict pain is an instrument of violence. It is extremely painful, which is what they are designed for.

  • @1775novten However, I do realize this officer was just trying to justify away the other officers' actions. Also, I do appreciate this officer's willingness to speak to the citizens. He wasn't there, so he and his team can't be blamed for what happened; however, I wouldn't be surprised if more of the same happens with his team.

  • @1775novten He CAN be blamed. Personal responsibility. Just taking orders?

  • @piewackett1 No HE can't be blamed - it wasn't him or his team that were involved with attacking the students with the batons. His team showed up afterwards. That's all I was saying. Not to say the other team of officers weren't to blame and out of line.

  • what a tool!
