  • Hey man sick truck, i have a '03 silverado 1500hd 6.0L and i want to put the same exhaust in, how much was the final amount for this exhaust with all mods?

also what is the song name :p kind of mint..

  • @licherik at the time ( '08 ) it was just $340 some parts & install since the 2500HD already has the true dualed 3" pipes. For you to have duals bent and parts, probably $550.

  • @licherik My dad has an 01 1500hd it has stock true duals to the muffler then the muffler has a built in y pipe he got 2 stainless steel magnaflow mufflers 3" tailpipes to 3.5 inch tips for 600 bucks

  • its not your mufflers losing your hp...it's having 3" true duals and hi-flows on a stock 6.0L that ruined the power. 2-1/4 or 2-1/2 and stock cats would still be really loud and kept your power up. looking forward to new vids of the new truck though

  • i wish i could get proformance exhaust that sound likemy stock 5.3 exhaust i like the smooth sound

  • @joeldude76 try turbo mufflers thats the point of them awsome flow but mostly stock sound

  • Hey man did that H pipe help any on the HP range??? thanks!!!

  • @PrairieKid03 Not sure. The truck was not fast at all after the exhaust. Worst performing mufflers ever.Never again, rotted out like crap too

  • @DarrenWS6 i got super 44s on my 1999 ford ranger i noticed a huge hp increase but i think the stock muffler was clogged or somthing i like my super 44 i installed my self but the only bad thing was welding the thing in it was hard to weld the top half of the pipes. but by the way i like your truck my next truck i wanna get is a 99 chevy silverado ext cab

  • Oh oops sorry I didn't know...

  • Hey nice truck!! I have a 99 silverado with dual exhaust. I put the super44s on it not a big fan, too much drone. So I put flowmasters 50series on, and what difference. deeper tone hardly any interior noise, until you put your foot into it then you can really hear it. What else have you done to your truck?

  • @CHEVboy86 I traded this in for an F150 in 2008.

  • how would this sound with out the high flow cats

  • @stubs2010 about the same, little less thunder and idle volume.

  • Dude that exhaust sucks ass worst exhaust I've ever heard !!!!! NOT just playing sounds badass I've got a Chevy Silverado 05 with a flowmaster super 40 and when I went to pick it up from the muffler shop and It cranked up I shat myself Flowmaster makes some of the exhaust but if i had the mony I'd go with Corsa

  • @Shitraver yeah man, 45'd is the best look for truck tailpipes hands down.

  • @DarrenWS6 those are 90s arnt they

  • @BeastlyyPenguin No, 45s. They are more corner exiting than directly out the sides, which is a 90 angle, 45s are cornered.

  • CHEVYS DONT NEED TURN SIGNALS!!!! lmao!

  • yeah thats the whole point of flowmaster... LOUD!

  • @brad9899999 True. Even I couldn't handle the inside noise most of the time, bit the outside grunt made me happy.

  • Damn nice, Im thinking about getting a magnaflow exhaust put on. Flowmaster sounds nice but is a little to loud for me inside the cab.

  • fuuuuuuuckiiiiiin siiiiiiick!!!! im getting a 2004 chevy silverado. 2500hd. putting Magnaflow true duals on err.

  • cool.

  • its a farter

  • Better

  • yeah, well the dumbass before me didn't do it right, hangers are all busted off and with it patched it sounds like shit, your old silverado sounds pretty damn good so i'm thinking about using your setup

  • Comment removed

  • thank ya, just bought my silverado has an exhaust on it now, but not true duals and it has a few leaks and a half dollar size hole in one of the pipes

  • ouch, well that sounds like chevy lol

  • if you can remember, how far between your cats and mufflers did you put your h pipe?

  • it was immediately when the two pipe ran side by side like all crossovers need to be.

  • sexy ass truck...period

  • lol, it looked nice it had that going for it at least

  • whyd u sell it? no gas mileage or was it breakin down?

  • both of those reasons, 11mpg was killing me at $4.10 a gallon, and the power steering and braking went out on it and cyl5 had a slap issue, covered by warranty atleast which had expired shortly after those fixes. Much happier with my new truck.

  • dam well honestly chevys not really known for supreme quality lol but hey atleast u had ur fun with it when u had it she had a nice little rumble to her.

  • lol yeah. thing was fun to park and back out of places at night.. crew cab 6'5 bed lol.

  • aww really, i was into getting one but a 1500 crew cab z71 i dont know what to do after hearing that, im go just stick with my two mini trucks. nice truck btw

  • im getting my silverado back darren!! gotta sell that mustang, its just not me bro

  • oh cool. what type of silverado is it?

  • it will be a 99' to 03' 5.3L ext cab... just gotta sell my mustang first, but i dont see that being a problem. i usually trade cars and trucks in every 6 months to a year. im hoping ill eventually keep 1 of them haha

  • lol nice. well good luck on your search.

  • thanks... im getting an exhaust on it the day i get it, so ill post vids soon

  • souunds niiice

  • sounds likes balls

  • why thanks, i should go to your channel and have a listen at your truck, lets see, oh wait, you dont have jack shit in your channel, hmm, smart to leave a wise comment when you dont even have a fucking video of anything at all on your page.

  • aint 3in back pretty expensive?

  • Maybe, who cares about price though.

  • hey where did you get the blue bulbs for the day time lights

  • ebay, type in '4114 cool white LED' and you'll find em, $30 some per pair.

  • hey whats the part # on those cats

  • I dont know they were in the trouck when I bought it.

  • im tring to decide between glasspacks or flowmaster 40's for my truck

    1979 chevy truck 350 engine

  • glasspacks are shit. go with actual mufflers.

  • If you want loud with alot of pop and crackle go with glasspacks.

  • i know the differance between the 2 is just hta i dont know what wouldsound better on my truck

it a L82 350 outta a 79 vette it has aluminum intake and edelbrock carb

and aroun 300 horses ( if that will make differance

  • check out my videos of my truck man. i have a video of both

  • hwy mpg please...and what final gear do you have 3.73 or 4.10?? no towing mpg

  • 4.10s & limited slip. I never really had it on the highway so I cant honestly give you an answer, but I would imagine it would be like everyone elses ( 14 - 15 mpg )

  • I like how you have the before and after, and before is totally stock and you gave it a little rev lol

  • yeah lol, but the first start up rev the guy said it was only 2800rpm, the stock rev was 2500.

  • Sounds fuckin text man, nice

  • haha my frind tj os 14 and already has this trck.......hes ready haha

  • haha there ya go

  • i like thoses true dual you got on your truck nice i wanted to do something like that on my 72 chevy cheyenne i hope to post some videos really soon say how much would muffler shop would charge for a Exhuast system i already bought my flowmaster super 40 series mufflers so is there any tips you can give me

    thanks

  • $230 is what they charged for the install with my mufflers & tips on my current truck. This truck had duals already so they charged me half price and did tailpipes & back.

  • your truck sounds good . . i got a 1997 chevy silverado true duals with a flow and i gotta keep the cats and i gotta have a muffler. i was wondering if you had any suggestions for what could be the loudest muffler i could get for it cause i been lookin alot and i dont kno what would be best to make it as loud as i can but still legal and i wanna do it for under 250 any suggestions ?

  • Loudest muffler would probably be the Borla XR-1, Dynomax Bullet is another one thats much cheaper.

  • if you want a loud muffler just go straight pipe.

  • straight pipes dont sounds as mean and clean as his setup.. can tell the camera guy liked it with his orgasms after the stratup hahaha... nice setup!

  • You got rid of your truck? why? it was so nice lol

  • You pay $4.10 a gallon with 11mpg with a mortgage and other bills, not easy lol.

  • thats why i got a 262 cid does ok ... 24 best avg 20

  • I had a 96 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 w/ 368xxx miles and ran like new! But I'm getting an 01 2500HD crew cab or a 2003 2500HD thats lifted this weekend! I have a firebird now and I miss having a truck!

  • awesome man.

  • i dont see why everyone hates on gm. they rock. i got a 90 gmc sierra 1500 with well over 175,000 miles on it and it runs better than new. i love it. im redoing the entire exhaust and thinkin about flowmaster mufflers when i do. those dont sound too bad. GM rocks tho

  • Yeah they're alright, some people are just different. I liked mine, but I didn't agree with it in some aspects. I didn't really need a 3/4 ton truck, and I was raised liking Fords. I would take another Silverado someday, especially a 2007+ VortexMax LTZ.

  • idk i like em and was raised on em. but im more for gas myself. i let all my friends drive the diesels.lol

  • i agree with you. if you dont need a 3/4 ton truck why would you buy one. the fuel consumption is not great it gets better with the dmax cummins and the strokes but then the fule price kicks in. all of the brands yes they are bad ass and look great but if you dont pull or load something everyday to "live" why would you need one. now i think i would have one either way but just saying.

  • Nice truck man, Ive got the super 44's on my 2500HD also. Does your truck have that annoying exhaust drone to it cause mine does it all the time.

  • yep, 6.0L is a loud engine so putting a chambered muffler system on you can expect it to drone alot.

  • When I bought the truck it was doing around 13MPG. I did flowmasters, a K&N Coldair intake, And edelbrock shorty headers and it does around 11.5 to 12MPG. I guess the 6.0L is just going to be thirsty no matter what you do.

  • i wanna hear it when you smash the gas when your behind it

  • Buy a 2500Hd and replicate the system, never gonna hear it from me because I never got a clip, I got rid of this truck for a good truck.

  • I drive a Chevy but i agree that after 1999 Gm has made cheap crappy trucks. Mine is a '94 and there has never been problems with it.

  • the real crappy trucks are chevys. cheap junk. how many times have u drove by a chevy with a light out or something going wrong with it. gm in genral just makes cheap crap. chevys are just stupidly desiened. i feel bad for people that spend all that money for a GM and all they get in return is underpowered crap

  • well, as I agree with you on most of that, some I dont. My Silverado wasn't real comfortable, suspension was a bit rough, but my truck never blew any light bulb of any sort. GM trucks are alright, and simple, but the newer they get the cheaper they are built, with alot of plastic and electronic crap, the thing I liked about mine was the engine with the new exhaust, and the front end, other than that, it sucked gas fast, and was a piece of shit that broke down twice. I love my Ford.

  • i bought a powerstroke, can't complain. i prefer gas over deisel because you can actually work on them, but then again, you buy a ford and you don't have to work on it right?? lol

  • yeah, i dont really need a diesel, I dont throw alot of work at my truck. Hell I dont need a 3/4 ton truck, my 1/2 ton F150 hauls plenty and can carry my fourwheeler, and get better economy doing so.

  • eh i don't know man, friend at work has an f150, i drive f350 powerstoker and still with high diesel prices, i still beat him out by 2 cents a mile. he averages about 15, i'm getting better than 18. he drives almost all highway, i'm almost all country roads, i can't figure out either! i used to be a chevy man too, tryin to sell off the last of them as we speak

  • oh yeah? Thats cool. I get 16.2 with my 5.4L, my highway economy is bad though, talking 17.5 - 18mpg.

  • damn it! lol...and ur payin buck less a gallon too! oh well, still love my truck. urs 4 wheel drive?

  • lol, yep 4wd. Thats all I will buy.

  • was this a custom or a cat back set up because i just bought a 04 ext. cab silverado

  • its custom, the changes were hi-flow Magnaflow cats, Super 44 mufflers, and had the tailpipes bent and the tips added on. Hair over $370

  • was this a custom or a cat back set up

  • ill tell ya somethin darren i like the new ford but i think the silvy sounded just a little bit deepr when started and a little louder

  • Oh ofcoarse this system was louder than my F-150s. I liked the sound of this one much much more, as you can tell from my reaction to the first start lol, but I love that i'm getting 16.2mpg with my F150 vs the 12 I got with the Chevy. No doubt the Chevy sounded better than my F150 does now, but we'll see what happens when I pull the rear cats out and only run the two front cats. Should be the same loudness but with the Magnaflow tone.

  • hey man i can not wait good luck

  • sick truck bro sounds real good

  • thanks

  • thats sound very noisy >>> i dont like this sound like that

  • well dont do your exhaust like mine.

  • I like this guy.

  • dang man, ive been workin full time this summer just so i can buy me about a 2000 chevy 1500 z71 (95 c2500 atm with original 40 series flowmasters) and ive gotta say, those super 44s have a much better tone than the 40s, ill definately be putting 44s on my new truck now. Thanks for such a great vid

  • Sick truck Darren! I'm gonna get the same exhaust on my Z71. Thanks for the awesome video!

  • thats how mine sounds :o

  • Sounds like a boat! Noice!

  • That sounds so awesome good choice and great video:)

  • Damn dude that sounds bad ass at high RPMs

  • why not dump it? sounds much better than dual tips, and a true dual won't show actual horsepower gains on the speedo. get bolt-ons until you get a turbo substantial upgrade. chicken tenders.

  • I dont want to have any more interior drone than it already gives, plus I like side exit tips on trucks. I understand that too. The purpose of this exhaust was not for performance, it was for an incrediable sound, and I believe I succeeded. If I wanted performance I would not have chosen Flowmaster, and I would have had the 3" pipes replaced with 2.5", and I would have done more performance modifications such as tune, CAI, better spark plugs, injectors.. etc.

  • would the 2.5" sound much different than the 3" do you think? thanks.

  • no, it'll have more of a pop to it because it'll be louder, and better scavenging ( back pressure )

  • my dad has just 1 flowmaster and its pry just as loud but awesome vid darren thats a sweet truck my dads is a silverado to chevy's the best u can get so yah nice video!!!!!

  • Thats cool. I like Fords better, I didn't own this truck for too long.

  • i agree with everyone, sounds great! i personly dont consider it a true dual exhaust because of the h-pipe but everyone has there own two cents. why not an X-pipe, i think it would make a much better tone with one...little less restriction too.

  • thanks. When it comes to trucks, they need a X pipe or H, cause the left manifold exhaust is guided to the right, then back to the left before axle, so its quieter and unbalances the pressure. I went H cause I hate the X pipe rasp and how it quiets a system down. H pipe keeps the heavy tone of the Hi-Flow cats and mufflers, and does the job of balancing the system out.

  • oh i agree with having some kind of connection due to the uneven back pressure, more on new trucks than old ones. i never recommend not having an X or H-pipe installed.

  • bad ass, how much? lol

  • $335 installed. $70 for tips, $160 for mufflers, $106 installed with mandrel bent tailpipes. That ofcoarse was last fall before the rising steel prices, right now its more like $110 tips, $174 mufflers, $106 installed bumping it to a hair below $400

  • truck is pretty badass but u need some bigger tires

  • ford350... ur a dum ass..btw ford stuck balls.. all mufflers sound different.. specially the size of your truck or cyclinder.. dum shit

  • ahhh flowmaster mufflers are not packed they are chambered so the sound will not change

  • Well I guess its climate change cause it did sound different ( as in better ) in warmer weather.

  • the DIC is never accurate. hand calculate it for a true reading

  • Well I re-set mine every 500 miles, I would say its accurate. I'm always careful on it when I re-set it, which betters my economy.

  • I saw on here your average fuel economy said 12.7!! mine only says 10.8 What else is done to your other then exhaust?? I put a 77 series k&n cool air intake on mine to help out

  • K&N is junk in my opinion, i'll never buy another.. & currently its down to 12.1, exhaust killed it my 0.4mpg. i drive it easy and dont break 2000rpms often, and stay in 4th gear as much as possible. Other than vexhaust nothing else is really done, just them DRL bulbs, painted grill & emblems & badges, smoked tails... no other real mods

  • I was going to ask you were you got them blue DRL bulbs.... look nice.

  • Ebay, 4114 LED DRLs, $38 shipped.

  • Sounds real good. I got a Magnaflow dual catback on my 95 Sierra C1500 with a 305. I'm gonna take it to and exhaust shop and have them remove the cat so it's a bit louder, it sounds good but too quiet for me.

  • Nice sound, btw, theres no "break in period" on that kind of muffler...

  • well then why the fuck does it sound clearer & healthier after 1,000 miles? Its all brand new metal inside those mufflers, once installed and the engine runs the exhaust fumes through it the soot places in and thickens in some spots and with that the the flow gets better since it cannot escape though any other baffle plates, therefore, BROKEN IN

  • theres no brake in technically, any muffler would do that, a muffler requires packing material in order for it to actually get louder from use

  • nice

  • hey how did you get your display to say fuel economy or average fuel economy??

  • DIC ( Driver Information Center ) if your truck was equipped with the DIC you will have computer options, redundant radio controls, and other little gadgets. If you got the 4 buttons on the wheel, the bottom left arrow like button is the economy center.

  • sounds great man.

  • thanks man

  • that truck aint loud my truck is 10x louder than that shit

  • good for you, I dont want a roaring loud daily driver otherwise I wouldn't have bought mufflers at all, just wanted a nice noticeable clear tone.

  • sounds BA

  • very very nice

  • Gotta love the bowtie! Sounds cool!

  • do flowmasters help in gas mileage

  • not exactly, Flowmaster has been known to rob a little gas mileage in some applications but I only noticed a 0.4mpg loss on my setup so its not even noticeable, low end torque is still pretty good. The Super 44 is the most free flowing chambered muffler Flowmaster has put out.

  • what bout with a K&N

  • K&N products are alright, I personally wouldn't use another, their filters require oiling and dont protect as good as most others out there such as AEM, Outlaw, AirAid, just to name a few good ones.

  • Sounds awesome! I love how the 6.0's sound. Now you said you have magnaflow highflow cats on right? Did that effect the o2 sensors? I also have two almost brand new magnaflow highflows laying around from my 350 silverado. I was just wondering if you had any problems with the o2 sensors?

  • thanks! nope, same original o2s, never saw a CEL or anything and never had a leak or any other problem.

  • sounds ok. id take that H pipe off and jus true dual it with only cats on it. thats how a chevy should sound. 45 degree angle the tips. bulldog the truck. tint eh windows. clear headlights. adn some billet is the way it NEEDs to be.

  • thanks, well we all have our opinions and are own preferences. 6.0Ls sound terrible without mufflers, only 5.3s & 4.8s sound good no muffler. The tips I chose look the best with the side exit I prefered,I dont like 45 cut tips unless they are straight out the back, and I dont like straight out on a 4x4. & I already have tint, factory '03+ headlamps are halogen/clear, and I have enough chome already. Dark red & black is the theme of my truck.

  • and i love it man sweet!

  • Do you notice an increase in fuel efficiency due to increased scavenging and less back pressure?

  • nope, mpg went down .4, so i went 12.8mpg to 12.4mpg, nothing too bad, once I get a intake & tune i'll probably see 14mpg.

  • true.

I dont have an exhaust, yet... but I put a hypertech programmer in it and built my own cool air intake and went from 10 mpgs to just under 14 (playing easy). But how can you play easy, she gets up and goes.

  • ah sweet. yeah mine needed 2100 to move the body, never got good gas mileage, glad i dont have it anymore

  • Are those like wicked loud on the inside or can you like still have conversations and like well i know your not supposed to but answer your phone?also does it get annoying inside?

  • 2500rpms & higher it is, it drones very heavily. but anything below that its ok you can still keep conversation going. It doesn't hurt the ears but yeah it will wake up a passenger if they're sleeping lol. If I had only 1 muffler it wouldn't be so loud, and if they were mounted further back in the bed it wouldn't be so heavy. The mufflers are under the cab about 2"s so thats how the sound is so loud in the cab.

  • so if i mount them further back under the bed it wont be AS loud in the truck. dont get me wrong i love loudness. i just wouldnt mind if my girlfriend wasnt scared to come with me.... from time to time

  • yeah, get them mounted as close to the axle as possible. I forgot to tell the guy who did it to run about 1.5ft of pipe from the pipes to the mufflers so the mufflers sat back a bit he just welded them up to the pipes and ran the tailpipes. I dont mind it though. If they were mounted where I wanted them i'd think the heavy droning point would start somewhere from 3000 - 3500rpms.

  • Sounds awesome! My 2500HD is running great. Man, I want to get started on the mods, but have to start saving. Great job!

  • Sounds good man you should get some headers now sice youve already put that much into the exhaust. I just put some long tubes in my truck about 3 weeks ago it gives it more of a catless sound u can hear the air rushing like a shuuuuush sound and it crackles more.

  • do you have cats? sounds GREAT

  • Thanks! Yes it does its got two Magnaflow Performance Hi-Flow cats, less restrictive than stock & allow for a catless sound.

  • Don't ya jst love the way these things chirp? I love the droning they make too, it's a great muffler

  • Nice Darren!!

  • Sounds fucking badass, dude. How long you been waitin to get them on?

  • Thanks man. I got the mufflers and tips back in September, a 3 month long wait lol it sucked lol

  • does it help with gas?

  • not quite sure, I haven't driven it enough to notice a difference, theres been no loss and no gain, drive feels exactly the same.
