  • This song is pure love

  • wore this song out while on board the USS GUADALCANAL- LPH-7 on the '77-78 Med cruise. man memories it brings back Naples, Barcalona...

  • Thankful for being alive and experiencing those times,

  • He played guitar in a duo with Jim Kreiger who also wrote this song. They were fabulous as a duo.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. I remember having problems with my girl in high school- I must of played this a THOUSAND times. Oh man, NO RAP- just REAL musicians who could actually sing, play, harmonize, were master of their instruments and craft. A LOST era. His voice always reminds of the guy/band that sang the classic, "Brandy". A+ Dave Mason- a master singer/song writer for sure.

  • Always loved this song!

  • aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh............

  • He blessed us here in Hollister CA by doing a concert for us last summer. Just a small intimate crowd on a nice warm northern Cali night enjoying his great music.

  • I was a stagehand in Virginia Beach, Va & I was working the American Music Fest. Dave was one of the many acts performing. I was behind the stage talking 2 his drummer when Dave walked over just chillin' out. I asked Dave 4 the sake of trivia and to settle debates I've had over the song "Feelin' alright" . I said Now Feelin Alright is you song! He said "Right". I asked "Who did the 1st remake of the song? GFR or Joe Cocker? (I already knew) He said "Joe baby did it!" I said "I knew it!"

  • great stuff back then. must be gettin old cause they dont write many like this anymore

  • @coltkitt It's STILL great stuff and will NEVER get old so long as they continue to RUIN music the way they've been doing!!

  • This is timeless....

  • THIS IS LIFE!!!!!!!

  • Everything he touches turns to GOLD!! A pure musician. Brings me back to my High School days,,,,,what a time,,,when music was MUSIC!!

  • love it!

  • I always thought B.J. Thomas sang this song.

  • Is that Finnegan on the keys?

  • in 1977 Dave Mason did this Great Song. Back when Real People Played Instruments and knew how to Sing.

  • the Super Seventies!

  • great song

  • @mrpoopdaddy

I totally agree! No one puts music out like this anymore.....which sucks!

  • Saw him tonight with the bass player in this video

  • Great tight band.

    Who are they?

  • what a great song sung by a great guy

  • Cheers to Dave Mason and all the great singer songwriters of the 70's. It was a special era of music. The cool thing is we even knew it when it was happening and music has not been quite the same since....

  • tallpaul - from Knoxville?!

  • Hey tallpaul, Wow, do I hear you!!! I've always totally loved the harmonies in this song. ;)

  • Such a heart wrenching break up story put to beautiful music. I was 18 when this was a hit and had no idea how bad my future break ups would be....

  • Man, THIS WAS THE TIME TO LIVE. The world was a much better place for all. I wish all could of had a taste of it. G-135 out of Blackshear, Georgia.

  • LOVE this song! Man it brings back great memories of growing up in the 70's.

  • What do you mean simplicity? I never had a band that could play and sing like that!

  • I've always loved the lyrics of this song.

  • There's a very powerful honesty, and a very powerful simplicity to this song that makes it a timeless classic.

  • Great song. One of my all time favorites. Thanks for posting!

  • beautiful song, sound, and twelve-string!

  • Flippin' PHENOMENAL POST!!!!!!

  • I recently bought the XM show CD from Amazon. Loved it!! Dave don't get no better!! Great band too!

  • Simple but deep lyrics. Great voice and talent.

  • timeless

  • Has Dave M been in a band before ?...

  • He was in Traffic. He appears on albums by Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Fleetwood Mac.

  • @essertpitay DM also appears on McCartney's "Listen to What the Man Says."

  • I met Dave Mason when he appeared at the arena where I worked as an advertising/publicity specialist in 1977. I did the advertising campaign to promo his appearance. Great guy! I became an instant fan. Great memories! Saw him again in Dallas about 10 years ago--boy he sure looked different, but was just as talented as ever! Thanks for posting.

  • Has Dave Mason ever done a song he didn't absolutely nail? His rendition of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow is the best of all among many good ones.

  • I saw him and Elvin Bishop come in by helicopter at The Frog Jump @ Angels Camp, just outside of Sonora,California,The year was 1974,Unbelievable show...Still the best outdoor show I have seen, total meltdown had by all!

  • Saw Dave Mason in Vegas around 80/81 or so....he opended for Starship,

it was just Dave an one other guy, they had a few acoustic guitars and a banjo....in Vegas...opening for Starship...and Dave killed them...brought down the house....remains one of the coolest shows I have ever seen....

  • I saw Dave Mason back in 1980 with some other guy.....probably the same tour that you saw! I saw them play in a small bar in Sun Valley, Idaho - maybe 25 people in the bar. They played acoustic guitars while sitting on top of a table.

  • Could of been Jim Capaldi. I saw them together around that time. Jim was Traffic's drummer vocalist and songwriting contributor. A talented guy.

  • I think you are right. I think I remember Dave introducing him as his partner Jim during that show...........but that was almost 30 years ago - those memories are fading fast.

  • Dave did some acoustic shows with the late Jim Kreuger. Some of the music is here on you tube. Jim wrote this song along with another great song "The Words" among others.

  • @pierangler Jim Krueger aka Bruizer, from my town Manitowoc WI. I knew Jim,cool cat just died too young.

  • @bluessixtysix

This was a good tune - maybe some remember it

It received a fair amount of radio play - Good Tune

Jim Capaldi - Livin' On the Edge

  • @pierangler saw him with Jim Krueger the same tour, playing a small place on Siesta Key in Florida. Might have been about 30 of us almost in a living room setting. Fabulous evening.

  • Great Song..Back from the days when singers really could sing, not just scream and grunt!

    Great live!!

  • He had a really great drummer for this. Great song. Great year. Well, actually not that great of a year. Anyway, love what the drummer does here. ;)

  • In 1977 i just got divorced and met a guy, and at that time i was still missing my ex-husband, and when the new guy and i went out to eat i heard this song for the first time and cried my eyes out. needless to say we broke up and 25 years later re-married my ex. Dave Mason i must say you do have a way with words. i am so glad i found you again.

  • im listing to this &stolling down memory lane.i was leaving my first old lady&this song helped me thru it.dave was most certainly a great artist.

  • Certainly one of my favorite pop songs from the 70's, so soothing, takes me back to a time that was so much simpler, a 70's classic for sure!!

  • i love this song

  • Thanks to NBC and Midnight Special for preserving all these classic performances.

  • So few views and comments on such a beautiful popular seventies classic tune??Hmmm??

  • Oh Yes, This was a 70's song when I was young and it was all Drama!

  • Great Lyrics!!Very True on relationships.
