  • Holy crap. An Imperial commander who wants peace?! Vance mutherfucking Stubbs is incredible!

  • "Okay, we have some ideas for new units to put in. Vindicators for Space Marines, Leman Russ Demolishers for IG, Additional daemons for Cha-"

"Woah woah woah... No, Iron Lore, just add flying units."

"Um.... Okay, sure. Should we give let Imperial Guard use Valkyries as units?"

    "NO, THAT'S A TERRIBLE IDEA."

  • Boreale stole those baneblades and used them as his metal boxes

  • @IAxHero I don't think he was competent enough for that.

  • The stronghold mission would be a lot shorter if that Commissar was Fuklaw.

"As you know it takes only the most highly trained crew to properly operate a--"

    "I know."

    *BLAM*

    "HERESY!"

  • That commisar isn't very enthusiastic. :/

  • Its like the commissar isn't even listening, just saying "In the emperors name sir" When he realizes that he is spoken too

  • 'Meanwhile on an orc world' Look er'e Boss! i got something from da humies! well spit if you grot faced slug! i got humies to stomp wadda gubbins you got! 100 of those posh hummie tin plated tankies! *powah armor fails jaw drops*

  • Is this intro playing also when you plaay as guard and you've got base attacked? Do you play this scenario from defender's point of view?

  • Blood Ravens stole the baneblades.

  • this is way... no i mean WAY better intro, then Spech Maghrens

  • Stubbs:...I want to see towers of gleeming light, I would like to see our men on parade routes, not tours of duty, I would like to see every city turned to the service and industry of the Imperium in the EMPOROR's name!

Commissar: Yeah...and I would like to fuck a sister of battle!

    Stubbs: What?

Commissar: In the Emperor's name sir!

  • Man, all he does is hate on the system

  • @Wanzerman123

No, he loves the system. He hates all the damage done to it

  • an artillery canon that can't turn? useful.

  • Guys, they weren't misplaced, they went out to serve. They're off defending other places. Stubbs didn't lose a hundred baneblades, he got screwed out of having a hundred baneblades by bureaucracy.

  • 1:23

    general stubbs:look at this

    commisar: *readies he's laspistol*

general stubbs:this is once a nice-

    *gunshot*

you just go pwn beyotch! :P

  • Commissar is sergeant merrick!?

  • 100 Baneblades?! That makes no freaking sense at all. No Super-heavy company contains a hundered Baneblades, and it's not like they would send 18 companies to one campaign.

  • @opalen903 It is possible they are "Fake" Baneblades since it is possible to simply make a large tank with a lot of guns when you have a factory dedicated to war.

  • @opalen903 Or 500 space marines? This game had 5 companies (500 men) of Blood Ravens in it. 500 marines would be more than enough to obliterate the system. Yet somehow the imperial guard managed to wipe out half a chapter of space marines. This whole game was bullshit.

  • @Arkaeya Yeah, pretty fucked up. Cyrus mentions this campaign in passing in DoW2. Half the chapter dying apparently isn't a big deal...

  • @opalen903 Matt Ward.

    Need I say more?

  • @Arkaeya Remember that Kaurava I is almost entirely covered by city. I wouldn't like to guess at its total population size, but it would have been capable of churning out a truly staggering number of men and tanks if fully turned over to wartime production.

  • @Stheno16 Perhaps, but still. Half a chapter? Eliphas can barely take on half the chapter in DoW 2 and he has the Black Legion AND a Great Unclean One supporting his cause. Yet Stubbs somehow forces his way into the heart of the Blood Raven stronghold. It just makes no sense. Very sloppy work on the designer's part.

  • @Arkaeya To my mind, it's because a Marine Company is essentially a self-contained blitzkrieg: its force is concentrated into a very small area, and the Chapter's Thunderhawks etc. can ensure that it can be wherever it needs to be on very short notice. This makes Marines truly excellent at decisive action and destroying enemy HQs, but they simply can't survive a battle of attrition.

  • @Arkaeya I will give you the one reason the Ravens died to the last man in Kaurava: Indrick Boreale.

  • Does anyone know what 100 Baneblades were doing on Kaurava (a non-Forge world) in the first place? It seems they might have been useful somewhere like, I don't know- the Cadian Gate or something.

  • Commissar don't care.

  • And so, the Blood Ravens were generously "gifted" 100 Baneblades by the Imperial Guard.

  • What would be hilarious ''what idiot would put 100 baneblades in a warehouse and lose the key?'' ''Erm... A very big idiot sir'' ''Now, where are those 100 baneblades I requisitioned'' ''Yeah, now promise you won't be mad...''

  • What the commissar was going to say:

"Unfortunately, sir, a shipment of 100 Baneblades had just gone out to service the the defects in the seat belts. The safety of our soldiers, after all, is our top priority......"

  • Were running low on men,

    Casulties of war?

Nope we shot most of them.

    -___- very good.

  • Vance Stubbs is so badass, that his power claws are his actual hands.

He may also have a Thunder Hammer as a penis, but there's no way to verify this because his harem of lovers, made up of the most beautiful women in the Imperium, were all too exhausted to make a comment when questioned.

Finally, Vance Stubbs once visited the Golden Throne, and upon seeing him, the Emperor stroked his chin and said "Finally! There's someone I can relate to!"

  • as it seems in this intro, Vance didn`t know about the shipment sent, he was a general but his most powerful weapon was taken without to notice, and from what the commissar says why i have the sentiment that they didn`t have any word to say when the baneblades were taken?

  • who could be the fool who would take the only advantage of the imperial guard stationed there?

it was a conservator regiment (more than a half destroyed) against 8 other armies, with only their stronghold left and their mission is to defeat the rest of the armies, i can`t see a more desperate situation than this

other thing 100 baneblades? if they would keep only 10, no,only 5 and there would be no worry of being defeated. I would ask in return for a few more guardsmen or some tanks... something

  • 100 baneblades?

wow that is too weak needs a power boost

  • Vance Stubbs was so badass that he didn't need the 100 Baneblades.

    Badass > Cheesiness

    Vance Stubbs > Indrick Boreale

  • imagine 100 baneblades comming at your base... Well there would be just three words left "we are fucked"

  • unfortunately sir, a shipment of 100 baneblades has just been sent to iran to see if they need any help

  • 2:04 thirst we must wipe the system clean of... salades!

  • Stubbs: *Phone Ringing* Ahh, hello... who's this?

?????: how many baneblade do you have now?

Stubbs: 100 and they are in front of me...

?????: Can you check again or count it again?

Stubbs: do I have to sent you a pictu-- WHERE'S MY 100 BANEBLADES!? only a tactical genius Could do thi- CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDD!

    Creed: *Troll Face*

  • A depressed commissar? Well now I've seen all. Plus the 100 Baneblades. One would think that a general with 100BBs would be more badass.

  • So there I was typing on my laptop when I heard a rumbling sound. I deduced that it was coming from behind my monitor so I looked behind only to have a fething BANEBLADE appear out of nowhere and crush my desk. How the hell did a 300 ton tank get inside my room without me knowing? Pulling that off must have taken one hell of a Tactical Geni- CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!!!

  • One hundred Baneblades...every time I hear that line.

Does anyone on the tabletop even own a hundred baneblades to their name lol?

  • @stgmilleralive I have 10 standard baneblades and 3 of each of its other variants that have been released.

I also have 5 of each Macharius heavy tanks and Malcador heavy tanks.

  • That Commissar is a bit of a kiss ass.

  • "All the baneblades suddenly dissapeared and in their place was a 5x5 shrubbery with a little sign on it that said 'creed was here'... CREEEED!"

  • The sound of the heavy vehicles really adds to this theme :)

  • The dark crusade cinematics were so much more epic...

  • Stubbs is the only decent character is Soulstorm, and has one of the few tolerable voice actors.

  • baneblades dont cost much compared to actual tank, only £55 ^_^

  • 2:45 how do they aim the damn thing?

  • The Commissar sounds so dejected.

  • my opinion was to wait a little longer and build 2 or 3 baneblades (earlier he had 100, seriously now) and then he could do short work with almost every army

  • if the imperial guard stronghold is the first attacked is the first stronghold you attack it will be almost impossible to win because Stubbs throw almost everything he have to slow you and to have time to construct a baneblade, and with that canon near you his plan works good, when a baneblade is constructed , it will sometimes be accompanied with infantry or another vehicle, if you dont have some artillery or your supreme unit early in this mission you can retreat

  • If I was the general, I'd issue all guardsmen a bolter instead of a stupid flashlight which doesnt do shit.....

  • @iZallen A very good reason that Guardsmen don't use Bolters is because the recoil would break your arms and wrists. They're also expensive. Flashlights are easy to produce in their millions. The bolt pistols that officers in the IG use are scaled down versions of the larger Astartes pattern Bolters. At the very least, a Bolter's kickback will knock you off your feet. Lasguns actually pack the punch of a .30 cal weapon, capable of blowing off limbs but everything else is so goddamned powerful.

  • Apparently, a Guardsman killed the Commissar and stole his uniform.

  • Guardsmen: Few we have all these vehicles to soak up the enemies shots.

General: Men were about to be attack by the Necron

    Guardsmen: FUCK

  • damn this game is going downhill.. i miss Sturnn, these guys are just random pussies

  • i think stubbs and sturnn are better than lukas.cause they know how to handle guardsmen.

  • - How are you, commissar?

    - In the Emperor's name sir...

  • the general dares to interrupt a commissar

  • @lukabean Commander: Did you remember the magnetized dice?

Commissar: No sir I thought you had them.

Sgt.: Sir, a lone Commander has taken the dice and returned to Cadia.

Commander: Cadia? The only commander stationed there is-CREEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Imperial Guardsmen, brothers. Today we stand against the enemies of the Emperor. The heretics and the daemons, the aliens and the beasts. Here we make our stand. Here, we will show the true might of the Emperor's glory. Then brothers, will you stand with me? When all hope seems lost, when the end of time seems to crash down around you, when it seems that life is no longer and option, will you stand up? Brothers, sisters, GUARDSMEN! Let us stand and face the coming darkness. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!!!!

  • CREEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They had 100 Baneblades on hand? Traffic must have been a bitch.

  • 100 BANEBLADES

they were wanting to conquer the universe in a month?

who think the same strategy thumbs up

  • Maybe the developers got Russ' and Banes mixed up? =S

Then again maybe they are that stupid! =D

  • I think Ursarkar Creed hid all the baneblades. How else could you lose 100 baneblades? Tactical Genius hurrr.

  • i dont think Mars itself even has 100 baneblades

  • @Anathema1984 oh trust me, they have plenty, there are an incredible amount of baneblades.

  • This commissar is talking with Vance as he would be a retarted. "Very good, General!" Like he would say: "Good boy!" And poor morale on the front, good in the middle? Same casualty? Poor on the front, good on the middle? With death-lovin' morale like that, commissars wouldn't be needed.

  • @xxlCortez ...what? Dude, "Very good, (insert name here)" is just a way of saying "I understand." It's literally just a (usually UK) variant of "Very well."

  • @electricbayonet2 Well, it is possible, I've never been near the UK and this was what I felt in this dialog.

  • @xxlCortez You don't even need to have ever been to the UK. Pretty much any modern media that features an English butler, English soldiers, etc, uses the phrase. It's pretty common knowledge.

  • @electricbayonet2 I am not english, nor american so probably that's the reason for I not really heard too much country-specific phases.

  • I've taken to calling the Commissar 'Commissar Verygudsir Invee Emprursnamesur'

  • Commissar is in good mood in Soulstorm.

  • Someone should probably point out to the Lord General that one of his soldiers killed the commissar then assumed his identity.

  • @Jc40k1 It's Sgt Merrick from Retribution!

  • Download the No Limit mod for Soulstorm.

Go against an easy AI for the sake of this.

    Try to build 100 Baneblades.

Laugh as you realize that won't fit on most maps.

  • Why is the general American and the commissar British?

  • @rich0292 because all the russians got drunk.

  • @rich0292 A united human race?

  • @rich0292 He'd be Canadian, because Cadia is based on Canada.

  • @PaladinofCadia Not really.

Cadia has no real world analogy, the entire planet is a fortress due to the fact that it shares a border with the Eye Of Terror, one of the most dangerous places in the universe. 90% of it's economy is devoted to war, and all citizens must join the Cadian guard. If anything Cadia has more in common with Cold War era West Germany or modern day South Korea in the sense that it's a militarized country that borders a warlike neighbor.

  • @whyyoumadbrah Will, you do have a point, but it does effect all of the guard. But you know, they are called shock troopers, as the germans called the Canadians during WW1. During that war Canada won pretty historic battles, when all others failed. Also the names are pretty similar. Don't you agree?

  • @whyyoumadbrah

Well Cadia is actually how Europeans see the USA. Just that spending so much cash on warfare is actually justified in 40K.

  • 100 Baneblades... gee, that would've helped.

  • @503leafy 100 Baneblades is almost like a Chapter's worth of Space Marines - tactically, quite different, but strategically they would be about as effective.

Which begs the question... HOW DO YOU MISPLACE 100 BANEBLADES?!

  • @LordSia13 they were sent to help defend cadia. at least i think so.

  • @Rototornik Really? The way I hear it, the Blood Ravens were spotted in the vicinity of the system in question...

Draw your own conclusions about their sudden doctrinal shift toward heavy mechanised warfare.

Oh, and the "New model Land Raider, fresh from the manufactoriums of Rekcus II, courtesy of Magos Helpyourself."

  • @LordSia13 are you trying to tell me that blood ravens stole a 100 baneblades?

even if they did (BUT HOW?!) they would have no fucking idea how to drive and use them! and all the ammo they would need!

on the other side, commisar says that a shipment of 100 baneblades had gone to serve ... somewhere.

the general knows. and if you ask me its cadia or something else. but you just dont send a 100 banes somewhere, it must have been a massive conflict.

  • @Rototornik Telling you nothing, you're simply drawing your own conclusions.

And, they're Space Marines, they'll figure something out. Seriously, compared to Average Joe Guardsman, the biggest problem is reworking the inside to fit a pair of Battle-Brothers to drive and shoot. Maybe they could use Chapter Serfs?

And Ammo? Did you miss the part where every Astartes is given a Bolter, in spite of Bolt Rounds being expensive as hell?

  • @LordSia13 so are you. my conclusions at least drawn from a hint, that tanks have GONE TO SERVE.

if they were stolen, it would be like: we are missing a whole crapload of baneblades! ALERT!

for me, they were resettled somewhere. where, there are no hints to start the search.

    discussion over.

  • @LordSia13 100 baneblades....Idk I think thats a lot better then a Chapter.

  • @LordSia13 They didnt misplace them. They sent them out to the front. Theres a difference.

  • @LordSia13 My guess: Creed took them.

  • @Nehfarius Why is everyone always blaming Creed? I mean, it's not like the man is busy defending the bloody Cadian Gate against a bloody Black Crusade or anything - what could he possibly be using one hundred Baneblades for? Besides, getting them to the Gothic Sector from the other side of the galaxy, that must take some kind of logistical geni-

CREEEEEE-waitaminute. "Logistical"? Does the Imperium even *have* logistics, beyond shipping stuff at random?

  • @LordSia13 3 words LORD USAKAR CREED

  • 100 Baneblades, seems reasonable, thats about 10 super heavy companies. In a game that is a battle over an entire star system. There have been greater engagements in the 41st millennial with over eight thousand tank COMPANIES and THIRTY FIRE super heavy tank detachments.

And these were merely the ones annihilated during the near total destruction of a renegade Titan Legio.

  • wow thats a bigassed cannon

  • Yup. Vance is truly a idealist.

  • Imperial Guard = disiplined army -weak infantry (prob do to lawzy gear) but 1 kick-ass Baneblade (thats the Imperial Guard in a nutshell gentleman)

  • Will you not submit to the Greater Good?

  • Stubbs is such a silly name

  • I would like to see my one hundred baneblades!

  • 100 baneblades...!!!! A super-heavy regiment only contains about 12...

The Imperium can't commit that many. They can't even make real baneblades anymore...

  • @FillianJPruscht

Makeshift jury rigged versions they could. With enough Bassiliks and Leman Russ tanks. They should be able to produce enough materials for makeshift versions. Won't last a moment against a real Baneblane but it will give them the advantage of quantity.

  • @FillianJPruscht Yes they can.

The vast majority are produced in the sacred forges of Mars, with a select few other Forge Worlds granted the right to build it or one of its variants. Every Baneblade bears its own identity number and name.

  • @jarms48a I seem to recall some fluff somewhere (it may refer to some other Super Heavy) that said that the STC was lost and that most were infact repicas. I apoligise if I have misread something somewhere.

  • @FillianJPruscht you are somewhat right many of the specialist baneblades STC's have been lost. With those rare baneblades being replaced by the more common and more available Standard mars pattern. Many Forge Worlds partition for the STC for the standard Baneblade pattern and many get it as the demand for them is endless.

And for the Forge Worlds that can not build them are given rights to second generation baneblades such as the ancient Malcador or the Macharius or sometimes both.

  • 100 hundred baneblades? yeah you'll get them in 50 years stubbs

  • dawn of war 1 is better than dawn of war 2!

  • lol this is such poor voice acting XD Personally, I thought Soulstorm blew chunks and was only good for Beta Access for DOWII

  • 100 Baneblades? Someone must have divided by zero.......CREEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!

  • Is the Voice actor for the Commisar the same as Sgt Merrick in Dawn of war 2?

  • "We will be lambs sir"

  • Why the space marines, imperial guards, and the sisterhood fight each while serving the same god emperor?

  • @TheLionHeart1991 From what I can understand from the plot. The sisters see the other ranks as 'lesser' troops and would rather burn them then work together. The Space Marines think they have the best plans and the IG just want everyone else to step off and let their army be the one to reclaim the planet.

In short their just three big, whiny children when not getting their way.

  • 100 BANEBLADES !! wtf !!!

In canon, its lucky to have even 1 baneblade in a 'ordinary' battle.....

  • @kingleungm

Most likely mothballed stuff, jury rigged from an outdated chassis and brought out to use. Probably relying on other mechanical parts to make up for it. The notion of a several "Baneblades" out on the field will serve as an intimidation. At least until they actually fight and it is proven to be as effective as several leman russ tanks.

  • 0:08 Wow...they are disciplined. They even breathe in unison!

  • tanks are parked in the scene "freeeeee parking"

  • i just went shopping for dawn of war stuf today

    and after seing this

i realize i should have bought soulstorm instead of chaos rising :(

  • "In the emperors name sir" :P

  • And why is this random guy gesturins so weird with his sword as the ohter guy was talking to him???

  • wow this is really nice voice acting

  • I dont have any start intro on my soulstorm....... WHY LOL

  • Baneblades..BANEBLADES!Our enemies hide in metal bawkses,the cowards,the fools!

  • 2:48 only Vance MOTHERFUCKING Stubbs could get 3 vindicare assasians as artillery spoters

  • FUCKING RELIC.

The basilisk is the earthshaker cannon mounted on a chimera chassis. THE CANNON ITSELF ISN'T CALLED A BASILISK RARGARGAHRAGRR

  • @Chingsauce

Actually Relic wasn't involved in this game.

so don't get mad at them.

  • How the hell do you lose 100 baneblades.

  • @AnGeLaXl521

Down the back of a sofa about the size of a small city.

  • @AnGeLaXl521 Who said anything about losing 100 baneblades ? He said they have just gone out to serve. That doesn't sound anything like lost.

  • @AnGeLaXl521 CREEEEEEEED!!!!

  • @zealot360 WDF IS CREED

  • @AnGeLaXl521 by being a retard

  • @AnGeLaXl521 Poor luck with dice.

  • @AnGeLaXl521 talent and effort

  • @AnGeLaXl521 I think he ment they just shipped out 100 baneblades from the base to serve in other areas

  • @AnGeLaXl521 "How the hell do you lose 100 baneblades?"

    CREEEEEEEEED!!!!

  • @DeusMalleus Just as planned.

  • @DeusMalleus WDF is creeeed

  • @Bluedeviant Lord Usarkar Creed of The Cadian 8th Regiment "Lord Castellans Own" and Now the Governor of Cadia I think

  • @Bluedeviant 1d4chan [dot] org/wiki/Creed

  • @AnGeLaXl521 tactical genius.

  • I just realized something. In the canonical ending, IG wins, so this scene never happened, so there never were "100 baneblades."

  • @RevolverOcelot1964 Oh there were 100 baneblades how u think stubbs won the war? He freaking deployed 100 each time he pushed foward

  • lol I thought the walker at 0:14 was actually a christmas tree with lights on

  • Commander: Will we win, or are we just lamb for the slaughter?

Commisar: That depends on the dice rolls...

  • "Hey...where'd we put those 100 Baneblades?"

  • the funny thing that the sisters of battle and imperial guard serve a space marine because the Emperor IS a space marine

  • @TheBronze3ye He is far, far more than a space marine ;)

  • @th1nkman well yeah but if he is closest to any of them its a space marine

  • He didn't lose the baneblades, Creed just hid them all...

  • whoa whoa how is 100 baneblades unfortunate? :P

  • Commisar, I blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, IN THE EMPEROR'S NAME.

    In the Emperor's name, sir.

  • LOL, I put captions on and it said "In the dot emperor"

  • The commissar sounds like he just doesn't give a shit anymore.

  • Time to drop some...

    METAL BAWKSES!!!

    On them.

  • Its my imagination? or that comissar are truly pissed????

  • sir why is the giant gun pointing away from the enemy base?

  • @wicNKWD37 Stubbs: Fuck!

  • if the space marines and imperial guard worked together, they would have owned the other races
