  • this is the only type of "rap" that i like!!!

  • The bands real name is the Dillards.

  • Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling) comes from a touring musical family. She sure fits in tight with these boys. (One of my first young boy 'crushes', and 50 years later she looks better than I do!). A 1 and a 2 and away I go...

  • No facial expression whatsoever! Classic! :D

  • Is the father doing anything by blowing on that bottle?

  • The jug makes a kind of bass sound.

  • It's really not doing anything but humor, although you're correct that it can make a sound and be tuned. Notice they have a bass guitar for the bass.

  • Called juggin. And yeah he is. Keeps the time.

  • lol no, thats not Mike Nesmith.

  • Ain't nothin wrong with some hillbilly rap.

I love it. Hahah, you're right.

  • awesome!

  • The FBI still has no definitive word on the persistant rumors that Ernest T Bass and Phil Collins are one and the same. Any thoughts? (They have the same hair and teeth...plus both have shaved the backs of their necks real slickity.)

  • These guys are top notch musicians.....simpy awesome

  • this song is incorrect...you cant cork a bottle when it time to fetch out the still. you have to wait 2 hours so the bottles dont explode.

  • this song is incorrect...you cant cork a bottle when it time to fetch out the still. you have to wait 2 hours so the bottles dont explode.

  • well then Dooley must have had bottles as strong as his moonshine

  • The "old man" Brisco Darling is Denver Pyle, aka Uncle Jesse on the dukes of hazard.

  • lol just figured that out a bit before u replied, there pretty good

  • arnt they a real bluegrass band? if they are whats there name?

  • As a matter of fact the are a real bluegrass band. They are known as the Dillards. (The boys are that is.)

Darlene and the old man are just actors.

  • It's not Darlene it's Charlene.

  • @SOONERCRAIG - that's "Charlene", and her real name is Maggie Peterson. They show up at the reunion up in NC now and then.

  • @SOONERCRAIG

The Dillards were - are - one of the all-time great bluegrass bands. Doug, the banjo player, wrote and performed Duelling Banjo on Deliverance. Charlene's not (just) an actress - she's Maggie Peterson, a great singer.

  • @FredPilcher sorry Eric Weissberg played the banjo part to Dueling Banjo. Doug is a great player though

  • @bitcheznhos

:-) So he did!! Thanks for the reminder and correction!

  • @SOONERCRAIG The old man is Uncle Jesse on Dukes of Hazzard

  • My favorite family.

  • The name of this tune is "Banjo in the Hollow" by Doug Dillard (the banjo player)

  • I sure wished they'd played all of "Don't hit your Mama with a big stick", but then, that'd always make us all cry.

  • Are you kidding me? long live the Darlings!!!
