@jesushatesyoutoo the charges may be true or not but it seems like the more that the old press reports them, the more support cain picks up. it makes sense. the old press is very biased. it's funny to watch them pretend the charges disqualify cain but then talk about honoring clinton or kennedy. we also know that some people will do anything to get on the fame train. we also know that it is dangerous to be in business. predatory nuisance lawsuits are often paid to go away.

@cmpm439 The "old press" as you describe it did not make up the facts. Charges were filed in 3 separate accounts against Cain, 3 we know of. Kennedy and Clinton were sitting presidents. If these scandals happened during their elections it is doubtful that they would have been elected.

You don't pay off lawsuit if they have NO merit. The NRA pockets are deep. If these complaints were frivolous no lawyer would touch them.

@jesushatesyoutoo so far we have no facts other than a very common termination settlement that is often made to make squeaky wheels go away. maybe many of the assault charges against clinton or kennedy came after elected but does that mean they no longer count to supposedly objective, even handed journolists while cain gets non stop coverage? isn't it even worse when someone like willey claimed the assault was while clinton was president? or that broaddrick alleged actual rape?

the other question goes back to what constitutes sexual assault. any move that a man puts on a woman? if so, do the good looking studs get a free pass, the ugly or the old get a jail sentence? conservatives get hundreds of stories per day while liberals get a free pass from the old press? do men now need a permission slip to make a move? i thought we put that one to bed after now took a pass on the bimbo eruption strategy. sorry, but the rules have to be consistent or dismissed

@cmpm439 and btw, there were no charges. if there was an actual assault on anybody, wouldn't the accuser go to the police? it is very different if someone made somebody feel uncomfortable, especially in the years coming out of the women's lib movement when there was a heightened response to how we should interact both as human beings and as professionals in the workplace. nothing could be easier to attempt to destroy a person with flimsy or no evidence than sexual harassment accusations

this issue boils down to something that was just said on msnbc's hardball. the discussion is taking place after the cain press conference. one man is saying that it is unbelievable that cain says he has never acted inappropriately with anyone since everybody has been inappropriate at one time or another. obviously his point is to undermine cain but it also shows the hypocrisy of this issue. apparently either everyone is disqualified or the charges only apply to the political enemy.

aren't they both from georgia? a presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate have to be from different states.

@cmpm439 Wikipedia: Nothing in the Constitution prohibits both candidates being from a single state but members of the Electoral College must cast a ballot for at least one candidate not from their state. The candidates may themselves take action to alleviate any residency conflict, like Cheney did.
