The only non-Apple off-the-shelf PCs that come anywhere near the build standard of Apple Macs are at least 50% dearer, though I grant you *if* you're knowledgeable enough to put together a PC entirely by yourself then you could probably manage a similar build quality for around 70-80% of the cost of the equivalent Apple - but that obviously doesn't apply to laptops or for around 95% of the population.

The only non-Apple off-the-shelf PCs that come anywhere near the build standard of Apple Macs are at least 50% dearer, though I grant you *if* you're knowledgeable enough to put together a PC entirely by yourself then you could probably manage a similar build quality for around 70-80% of the cost of the equivalent Apple - but that obviously doesn't apply to laptops or for around 95% of the population.

As correctly stated above, Chinese factory suicides are more Foxconn's fault than Apple, Foxconn are slave traders and their average daily pay for a Chinese assembly line worker is $4.50 [aud/usd] which is fukkin pitiful. Assuming both parents work, that's only 60 bucks a week total.
Jobs was unlucky - pancreatic cancer kills about one in 8,000 US males and the highest incidence is in amongst the over 65'yos.

If living costs have risen by 20% in the last year & at the same time minimum wage has only risen by 1% then in proportion to living costs it has gone down by 16% so we are being tricked into slavery because we believe that minimum wage guarantees a decent living. If it's not tied to living costs then it doesn't guarantee anything. It's not tied to living costs. If it was it would have also gone up 20% not 1%. All wages should have gone up by 20%!
