In you commenting on my video hating on trevor hall, more people comment on my video to say something to you, which in turn means more people watch the video, which in turn means more people will listen to trevor and he will gain more popularity. So thanks man spread the word! :-)
he is singing a damn song...whether it means anything or not...its a song and he obviously has a love for music so he can sing abotu whatever he wants to sing about...you dont have to live the life of what you sing...not saying he doesnt but the reggae comment is a joke
This music makes me so happy. Music is one of those things that if you can impart a moment on another person through music those feeling will carry on with them and be passed to the next person. Thank you Trevor for being a part of the musical solution, not the problem. I am proud to listen to you with my children. I know they will become better people having heard what your beatific voice has to say. much love!!
@ everybody. I'd like to point out the fact that Buddha was a sheltered prince for part of his life. After learning about the sorrows of the world he then left the luxury and opened his eyes to true life. It doesn't matter what you believe or who you are or where you come from or how you sound. What matters is literally EVERYTHING about someone and there's no way you could ever know that about anyone except yourself and even that is very difficult. That's what i'm working on. I would suggest it
@SunWillSomedayRise Why are you complaining? You don't have to experience poverty, war, etc. to spread a message about it. Or are you saying that he SHOULDN'T try to spread an important message just because he didn't experience the situations he's talking about?
So, I saw Trevor Hall open for John Butler trio saturday at Red Rocks. I've gotta say, I really wanted to like him, the music is smooth and easy to listen to, but, I just couldn't get past the fake accent, and the whole poser act. I find it a little difficult to listen to somone sing about all these world troubles, all while standing barefoot on stage, swinging his "dredlocks" , and knowing that he is from South Carolina, an attended a very prestigious arts high school in California.
Nah man, I'm not negative, My user name is lyrics from a Sublime song "...my burning sun will someday rise...". Which, by the way is real music to light a spliff and listen to, not some poser.
@SunWillSomedayRise I can see that issue, but at the same time it's what makes him happy, image shouldnt determine weather or not something is good, hes a talented singer/songwriter and his music makes other people feel good and makes them happy. So, just because his background is different from the usual "types of people" who do this kind of music doesn't mean he isn't good or a good influence on others, image really shouldn't matter too much, especially with music since its about sounds/talent
@SunWillSomedayRise whats wrong with attending a prestigious art school... Brad Nowell attended a pretty good high school and spent like his entire childhood sailing (a rich person thing). At least Trevor Hall hasn't O.D. on herion yet.
@lyonsjk1 You're right there. Bradly Nowell was raised in a middle to upper class home, but the difference between him and Trevor Hall is that Bradly Nowell didn't try to be someone he wasn't. He sang about what he knew, which yes, included drugs, but it was the lifestyle he actually lived. You've never heard Brad sing in an accent, or about life in Africa, because it wasn't who he was. To even begin to compare the two is ridiculous.
@SunWillSomedayRise dear friend. A person is more than just the place where he was born. Our personality is build on experiences gained through life, images we've seen, stories we've heard, people we met and much more. All this combines into our character, our beliefs and creates a specific approach to life. It's a very individual thing because everyone walks his own completely unique path which makes judging kinda pointless. I'm sure you realize that and just forgot for a second. Sry for my eng
@danibooiii hah, it could be difficult considering we live on two different sides of the globe but I sure hope we will get the chance to smoke a spliff someday. Preferably on a Trevor Hall concert ;) and thank you for your kind words, take care!
btw. you people are so lucky to have the possibility to see him perform live... I hope Trevor will tour Europe anytime soon.
@Jhaygarth No no no! That's the exact opposite of the truth. Music IS an expression, but Trevor Hall's music is not an expression of who he is. It is a phony persona used to try to convince you that he is a deep spiritual man, but this is not the case. True fans of reggae, should be appaled at this "music", as it is an insult to the men and women who have lived through troubled times, and built off those experiences to spread a message.
@SunWillSomedayRise haha honestly i cant believe im giving into this troll but i just wanted to share with you that Trevor is a devout hindu. He makes trips to india and really does help out over there even if its in a small way. No Trevor hasnt gone through physical "troubled times" but i think it makes him all the better. He gave up a comfortable lifestyle to chase his dream of being a musician. Trevor has touched many peoples hearts through his music and thats what matters to me.
@SunWillSomedayRise 1st off y wud u bother bringing up reggae when this song isn't even reggae? and just bcuz you havent gone thru something doesnt mean u understand the pain & suffering. and who said you had to live thru something to talk or sing about it? have you ever heard of giving the people a voice? it's not just about giving a voice, but its about waking the people up about the worlds problems, and stop assuming hes a phony, assumption is every human's biggest fuck up
This song is indescribable. His simplicity is unmatched yet he gets every single feeling expressed in the most incredible way.. I LOVE this ARTIST! and Am more than excited to see him in september =]
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for posting this song!!!! Wow! Just when I thought Trevor couldn't possibly lift me anymore I find this song... Thank you thank you thank you! Anyway I can get this somehow!?
