  • This is the exact same kata my school does though we are not a traditional Tang Soo Do school. This was an excellent performance for a kata and has helped me learn Cho-dan greatly. Dispite what some of the other people have said here from my training perspective it looks awesome and I'm sure has won at least a few trophies. There are a few minor differences in hand placing but I think that is just from an adoption of the style over the years. Thank you very much for posting this video!

  • He needs a lower stance... and needs to tuck his knee in further. >.< you could punch him square in the groin- jeeze. Forgot to cross his arms going into the hammer-fist. wrong hand placement right before the psudo, after the punch. its about quality, not how fast you do it. nice kei-up after the high blocks though. ^^ haha...

  • 4 people cant even do a down block

  • LMAO .Why does he Ki AHP like that @ :19

  • weird it says tang soo do and this is my tkd form? Hmmm

  • @ExeterTKD idk i study tang soo do and this form it's a bit different than mine but what i know it's that tang sooo do and soo back do are ancient names for tkd

  • you guys should check out "Tang Soo Do form 7 Pyong Ahn Sa Dan" from "mrblackbelt42" he is the best on youtube.

  • @juancruz1992 - Mr Blackbelt's forms are pretty different than Soo Bahk Do forms. He uses no waist and he's not down on his knees low enough. Forms are a way to display the quality of your form and he's going too fast.

  • This is so close to black cat kenpo. It's just wierd lifting up your leg that high and putting your had behind your back with the four cat stances at the end. What style is this?

  • Also, 4 people are little wussies! :P

  • Now that is the proper way to execute Pyung Ahn Cho Dan!

I learned this form when I was a 3rd degree Purple Belt. When I started Tang Soo Do the belts went from White > Purple > Green > Red > Midnight Blue > Master > GrandMaster.

  • the form is well done and almost identical to several clubs I have seen...

everything perhaps the lifting of the leg.

On international contests I have never seen the lifting of a foot because this would suggest "unbalance".

  • He's demonstrating, he's not being "Perfect" so don't judge

  • i'm sorry but this is not cool at all.

lifting your legs high and doing weird movements with your arms actually looks kinda stupid....

  • once again great kata...but question..isn't lifting your leg up while performing techniques wasting energy, power and time.

Im just asking cuz i know every style has a meaning to their moves.

  • @and2premiere Many forms in Tang Soo Do incorporate stepping over the unconscious body of your opponent.

  • I am double grading from yellow tag to orange tag basic form three and pae nan cho dan are my grading forms...

  • I learned that form as a green belt - big deal.

  • i learned it as a orange belt

    (TSD)

  • Yea, orange, green, I forget, just know I learned it early on. To watch a black belt do it is kind of like watching a pro golfer make a 3 foot putt.

  • Well, you have to do this form on your first gup test (as in testing for the rank below Dan) and there out, so it's really important to know, actually.

And they probably have a Dan showing the form because his movements are more likely to be crisper than that of an orange belt.

  • must be very traditional cuz i've -never- seen it done like that lifting the legs up so high

  • Interesting exagerated "Ki Hap", more like a scream.
