  • after all the demos does the soldier get to spend the whole day with family?

  • @ItsSandyCheeks Yes...the soldiers are usually released into the family's care for the rest of the day, and in most cases, for the rest of the weekend. My son was released about 11 am Friday morning, and had to report back by 1800 Sunday evening (6 pm). Hope this helps you..!!

  • @ItsSandyCheeks That was 3 years ago when my son finished his BCT. It'll depend on his MOS. The Army wasn't helpful in letting us know anything...we had to make arrangements and plan for everything. We only found out how long his leave was when the graduation was dismissed.

  • @cixelsyD1063 they sure arent helpful in giving out much information, Thanks for the insight though :)

  • The good ol' days. I did my basic at Sill, in Echo Battery. Great video.

  • I'm so happy it has been useful for you...I know exactly what you are going through..!!

  • Future Soldier here.. leaving for Ft Sill 2010 02 02 13 M MLRS Crew memeber.. God bless your sons and thank them for serving our Great Nation.. HOOAH..

  • Good luck soldier...stay healthy, stay safe...HOOAH

  • Thank you so much for your reply.. I am not dealing with this very well at all.. I just sit around and cry all the time... He is doing His BCT at fort sill. His AIT at Leonardwood and His Air Born at Benning.. I miss Him so very much.. He is my only child.. Yes, I am going to His graduation.. It is on Nov. 20th 2009. Thank you again.. Marie..

  • I completely understand how you feel Marie...I know it's tough. I miss my son too...and letting our kids open their own wings and fly, is so hard on parents. We all know that kids are resilient, it's us parents that don't bounce back so easily. He will be fine...and you will too...it'll just take time to adjust. Have you heard from him since he left? My thoughts and prayers are with you, Marie..!!

  • I just want to thank yo so very much for your videos.. My son just left on Sep. 8 2009 for fort sill..

    your videos have helped me.

  • I am so glad the vids helped you deal with it. I know EXACTLY what you are going through. Your son has some hard work in front of him, but he will make some lifelong friends and a little fun over the next couple of months. I am proud of his choice to serve...like my son and son in law..!! I hope you will be able to go to his BCT graduation...it is an awesome experience. Is he doing BCT and AIT (OSUT) at Fort Sill?
