Anette excites me just by showing up. However, I don't think you can really fairly compare this to something like the End of an Era concert that was just breathtakingly fantastic. I like all of it, honestly. Tarja era Nightwish, Anette era Nightwish and even Tarja's solo stuff. None of it really lets me down.
She talks to the crowd like there 10years old! Tarja's style of connecting with the audience is less "howdy ho and hello" and more im doing my thing,you do yours! Tarja has a great energy and so does anette..but anette is more like those annoying hyper dogs that just wont stop.

She´s definetely in tune but I think she tries to prevent singing the highest notes because she´s still a bit insecure. Her performance is OK, you don´t have to sing exactly what you perform on CD to be in the right tune.
How easy is to talk that way ´bout the work of a singer. If you don´t like her, just don´t buy the cd or go to the concert. Anette is a different singer. no point in comparation. but, of course, those who criticise musicians can always do it better than them, right?
Poor Anette. I think its not a first song in this concert, so maybe she needs some rest. Her VOICE NEEDS SOME REST acually. I believe it's hard to sing 15 - 20 songs without a pause... It's really hard to sing live.(Belive me, I know what I say...) But also, everything goes to practise. You'll see - soon her singing will become better and better. :)

For the most of us there it was the first time to see and hear Anette live. So, inspite of the music, it was more interesting to see and hear what was happening on stage than to do heavy headbanging... :-) In addition to that, there haven't been many people there (maybe about 300 in a location for 1500 - bad publicity in germany, I think, it was one of the "secret gigs" and, obviously, it remained secret for a lot of people...)

Funny how she ssems to have forgotten to sing high at 0:39. She suddenly starts sings one octave higher! caress the ONE, THE NEVER... But she seems to do it always this way. Good song though. Unlike when she sings old Nightwish songs.
I believe that's how the song is supposed to be sung. You know, different notes. She hits that ONE note to scale downwards, "THE NEVER FADing RAin in your heart..".

The recording quality doesn't matter. Check out Tarja Berlin 2007, you'll see that even though the recording quality is shit, she sounds like an angel. A recording can't make a singer sing out of tune, flat, or off key.
Actually, it can, to a certain extent distort any sound, including vocals. The same effect as when you play with two finely tuned guitars and they sound horribly out of tune together in a small room with heavy distortion and crappy equipment. (I have no clue if you know anything about the technical stuff, that's why I elaborated)

Every song writer writes the songs for the singer of the band, to make it sound the best. Hence I say it was written for her STYLE not for HER in specific. So Anette can try to sing it but it is not optimised for her. As if you got a band with only guitar players you can tell some violin players to try to play it but won't sound the same now will it (A)..
Technically those werent Tarja songs. They were written by the song writer not her. That being said the songs are ripe for change anyway they see fit. Anetter is NOT trying to sing like Tarja and her style of singing the older songs is also enjoyable to listen to. The sooner you realize that the old songs arent owned bt Tarja and that Anette isnt Tarja nor is she trying to sing like her then you can stop judging by trying to compare the two entirely different singers and people >.>

im a new night wish fan and i have listened to both Tajra and Annete I think both sing good...i have no reason to compare one with the other...well i hope that Nightwish is as sucessful with Annette as with the way they were with Tajra

She´s definetely in tune but I think she tries to prevent singing the highest notes because she´s still a bit insecure. Her performance is OK, you don´t have to sing exactly what you perform on CD to be in the right tune.

How easy is to talk that way ´bout the work of a singer. If you don´t like her, just don´t buy the cd or go to the concert. Anette is a different singer. no point in comparation. but, of course, those who criticise musicians can always do it better than them, right?

Poor Anette. I think its not a first song in this concert, so maybe she needs some rest. Her VOICE NEEDS SOME REST acually. I believe it's hard to sing 15 - 20 songs without a pause... It's really hard to sing live.(Belive me, I know what I say...) But also, everything goes to practise. You'll see - soon her singing will become better and better. :)

god, annette should tahe some voice training lessons, and YuliAna or some shit like that talks crap! I myself study singing and i can tell that you are full of shit and have no idea what really good and clear line of singing is! and annette does not pay enough attention when she is singing! unaccuracy happens realy fast if you are not concentrated!

For the most of us there it was the first time to see and hear Anette live. So, inspite of the music, it was more interesting to see and hear what was happening on stage than to do heavy headbanging... :-) In addition to that, there haven't been many people there (maybe about 300 in a location for 1500 - bad publicity in germany, I think, it was one of the "secret gigs" and, obviously, it remained secret for a lot of people...)

Funny how she ssems to have forgotten to sing high at 0:39. She suddenly starts sings one octave higher! caress the ONE, THE NEVER... But she seems to do it always this way. Good song though. Unlike when she sings old Nightwish songs.

I believe that's how the song is supposed to be sung. You know, different notes. She hits that ONE note to scale downwards, "THE NEVER FADing RAin in your heart..".

The recording quality doesn't matter. Check out Tarja Berlin 2007, you'll see that even though the recording quality is shit, she sounds like an angel. A recording can't make a singer sing out of tune, flat, or off key.

Actually, it can, to a certain extent distort any sound, including vocals. The same effect as when you play with two finely tuned guitars and they sound horribly out of tune together in a small room with heavy distortion and crappy equipment. (I have no clue if you know anything about the technical stuff, that's why I elaborated)

Its hard to judge how well she really sings with all of these videos.. but not hard to tell she has very little stage presence. I hope shes better by the time they come here in the spring.

Every song writer writes the songs for the singer of the band, to make it sound the best. Hence I say it was written for her STYLE not for HER in specific. So Anette can try to sing it but it is not optimised for her. As if you got a band with only guitar players you can tell some violin players to try to play it but won't sound the same now will it (A)..

Technically those werent Tarja songs. They were written by the song writer not her. That being said the songs are ripe for change anyway they see fit. Anetter is NOT trying to sing like Tarja and her style of singing the older songs is also enjoyable to listen to. The sooner you realize that the old songs arent owned bt Tarja and that Anette isnt Tarja nor is she trying to sing like her then you can stop judging by trying to compare the two entirely different singers and people >.>
