  • This is really really good

  • Come on A on my test :D

  • excellent! this will help me with my test tomorrow :)

  • This helped a bunch! Thank you very much.

  • a million thanks !

  • Im so glad I don't have to read Middle English. Thank you so much.

  • I have to do this play in my English class.

  • @prototypev0 So do I lol. Is it for A Levels?

  • 7:05 yeah that wasn't creepy at all...

  • Lol, now I don't have to read the whole story anymore, thanks a lot ;)

  • I really liked that. Your taking a old folk story and turning it in to a rap, so that the newest generation can be educated, but in a way that they think is fun. If they were in a classroom listening to a teacher tell that old story, they would get uninterested in a matter of minutes. But with a rap or song, they might just stay and watch. It really captures their mnds and lets them learn about our past wrong doings, withought all of the "boring" lectures. Thank you Babasword!

  • So creepy at the end how death looks at you in the eye...it has an effect that hits home, made me scared of sinning for real

  • This beats reading it.

  • This is awesome...I wish you had a rap for everything I study in school.

  • studying at its finest...this is making senoritis kinda fun

  • Wow I'm studying this right now!

  • I love it u got mad skills

  • Those who disliked just realized that they might not want what they are looking for, whatever it was...

  • Nice one

  • Pure genius. Thank you for this amazing differentiated teaching tool!!!

  • Absolutely Brilliant!

  • Thank you so much! This helped me a lot for my one assignment!

  • Very impressive. Congrats!

  • awesome

  • dynamite. geoffry would love it i reck

  • He came to our school yesterday, such an awesome live performer :)

  • Who is the pardoner?

  • @GLaDOSBOY19 The Pardoner is one of the pilgrims in chaucers tale. The character is described as a member of the church who is supposed to give pardons to and relics to people who need them, but instead sells them to make money. a very hippacritical thing since one of the things he preaches the most about is greed. Chaucer also described him as long oil blonde hair that hangs off his head like rat tails and a pink suit. It is debatable if he is gay or not.

  • hahaha the pardoner is so gross, this is a great way to explain his tale though! who reckons the old man is death itself? xD

  • The Game Is Mine.

  • is this the only one you made, or did you do all the tails?

  • thnx dude!! helped get a better image of the story!

  • are there any lyrics for this

  • great job, not to mention. Dude, can you tell me which damn software you used to make this video. because I would also like to make such cool stuff to improve my creativity. Please reply dude. And also give me some tips which would help me to start doing something creative like this.

  • this is hella bad ass

  • hehe wow great video lol nice job

  • I love this rap! had to listen to it again even after having taken the class last year lol

  • I have to study this for a-level this year. thanks hahahaha

  • AWESOME!

  • My 1st hour Honors English III class greatly enjoyed your rap. It helped to further their knowledge and understanding of the tale. Thanks bunches!

  • I am going to have my English students check this out. Very well done!

  • damn proud, the kid who did this was in my AP english class. planning on doing an oblivion machinima for the shipmans tale

  • where did you find the pictures you used here? i need to know where to find ones similar for the squire's tale

  • really dig how u put that biggie part in there

  • oooohhhhhhhh now i get the story!!!

finna do my essay now lol

  • I love you guys' lyrical skillzz. i do like the actual video better, but the artistic technique kills!!! did you guys do the wife of bath as well?! lol

  • Great job with the rap, but isn't it ironic, that someday in the far away future, this will be considered "Olde English."

  • its good but it does take away a large part of the tale by taking away the words themselves. thinking about it, as its own thing its actualy awesome, but i dont like it when people think things need to be changed so kids will take an interest. we shove all these bright colours in kids faces and they wont see the variety of shades and tone in life.

  • @hobogasm nerd

  • wow epic

  • it's amazing and helped me 2 loved it!

  • He came and performed at our school, he's so amazing.

  • ha ha thats brilliant, thanks educator

  • If you like intelligent rap listen to 'grime' like for instance "ghetto - wiley diss" but unfortunately if you only like white rappers then its not for you

  • so so awesome.

  • this is really quite amazing

  • This is great! My high schoolers will LOVE this!

  • AWSOME!!!! my teacher showed the video to me and my classmates, and I gotta hand it to ya, AWSOME RAPS!

  • I don't know what do say, that was an.. intelligent rap. Normally all I hear from rap is large booties and 'grills'. Amazing.

  • Soo, I understood this 40 times better than I did the actual story. My English teacher showed it :)

  • this was really great, helpful and although i'm into metal and not rap, this was really well done and enjoyable.

  • That was amazing! that for the help on the english homework! You guys did a great job!

  • My teacher played this for us when we were reading this.

  • I remember seeing this last year at Cambrige, and absolutely loving it! A great way to modernize classic literature.

  • He came to our school and performed when we studied Chaucer in Lit 12.

  • wow this is talent! Now i get it lol

  • dude this is awesome, nice job! it helped me out a lot with my english project so thanks :)

  • Totally Awesome, especially how he uses 21st Century methods to explain some 14th Century Literature

  • hey man, really good job with this song, using some "the cure" music, I guess, and nice drawings.

    nice job indeed.

  • This was really good! It helped me a lot with my English homework, because I didn't understand it because of the use of language in the poem. Thanks so much!

  • where can i get the direct lyrics for this? Ive never read the canterbury tales and my brother showed me this, and i cannot really understand thge total lyrics of this. links would help, please and thanks.

  • I.. actually need to watch this as homework for english class :)

  • the pardoner represent the coruption in the church during chausers time

  • this is ridiculously good,

    props

  • they die under the three where the old men told then they find dead kool

  • Haha that was pretty awesome. That should make me remember this tale for the test tomorrow ;)

  • Bravo

  • dude the only reason i passed a quiz on this part of the story is because of this rap. lol

  • me too

  • well, its accurate in terms of the core moral of the story. i dont know about the fleshy bits because its been awhile since ive read the original.

  • this is pretty good stuff, i like t because it is catchy and is a good adaptation of the original tale.

  • are there other raps of the other tales??? if so send me the link! if not write more raps of the canturbury tales this is very well presented :P

  • Yes,he also did the Wife of Bath, The Miller and the Knight. He has bits of them on his youtube page and you can also buy a cd of them

  • baba is so cool plus you really made me understand the story more i saw him once live

  • This is awesome! it's so well put together! I like reading the book of the tales but I recon you should bring out an ultra modern version just to help people who are studying it to understand it.

  • luved it <3, especially the way they describe death as the old man :D, though the rap may not be AS accurate as the originally cantebrry tales, but the best modern version i've heard :] so good job! *rates '5 *'s ' and favorties*

  • you know wuts awesome? instead of reading 20 pages of olde english, i just watched this for 7 minutes. cheers bros! :)

  • omg, this guy came to our school, he was the shit. he was cool. we missed english so he could teach us about rap music, it was really cool!

  • FREAKING AWESOME! I had to read some stupid middle english version of this and had no idea what I was reading, so thanks again man, take it easy!!!

  • It's funny that the pardoner uses tales such as this to manipulate others into buying his pardons. The guy's a damn hypocrite. He doesn't care about the well-being of the people buying his pardons, because he only wants to have their money (i.e., he's greedy, yet he preaches against avarice). He's not even supposed use tales to manipulate people.

  • yes good job that is the point

  • That's sort of the point man. The Pardoner represents the Church.

  • Yeah, I know that he represents the average figure within the Church. The only good Church figure is The Parson, which shows that there was still some hope of goodness in the Church.

  • yeah, the cure!

  • fake!

  • Thanks! This will help my class understand the story!

  • where can i find the lyrics?

pleae i need it for my homework..thanks

  • NICE!!i just read this in my book, i have a test tomorrow, so i was searching online webs for summary for review just in case, and i came across this! awesome lol. exactly the same like i read, cool music too =]

  • He visited my school twice.

    He did the Canterbury Tales.

    Awesome!

  • i am so glad u made this

i have 2 do a presentation on it

and i did not know what the heck i was reading

but this made it intersting and i get it now

  • Quite clever modern rendering of an ancient tale!!!

  • Good job, U taught us how to rap!!

  • Yeah Baba came to our school today (the american school of the hague) and performed this song together with the wife of bath's tale. It was awesome. Well done Baba!

  • Baba is awesome, i live were's hes from and know his family quite well (thats what comes from living in a small town)

but hes really great and an amazing performer!

  • i met baba in cambridge england and he rapped canterbury tales in front of the crowd

  • Sweet! Love this version of the Pard's Tale. I'm posting my reading of the Pardoner's portrait (in the General Prologue); I compare Chaucer to a hip hop artist (50 Cent) in my introduction.

  • Anyone notice that death is the barkeeper, the bandaged old man, the poison vendor, and in fact death is death in the end.

  • this is AMAZING!

  • This is absolutely a great way to narrate a classic story as rich as The Canterbury Tales! Shame I can only give 5 stars!

  • Most clever. Evocative illustrations. Chaucer would definitely approve.

  • this is great. great job.

moral to the story, thy who covets money also covets death.

  • this helped so much its so good.
