My great-grandfather was in the resistance movement in Norway and Finland .. What the Sami need is a leader, someone like Marshal Mannerheim. 120 years ago, Suomi was not much different from Sapmi (on the peninsula, that is). After fighting the WWII twice, and losing 1/8 of the land, Finland kept her independence, (unlike Eesti), and just look where Finland is now. BTW, SAVE THE UME SAMI LANGUAGE!

I don't think we necessarily need our own country, but the governments need to start respecting the sami people more and not interfere with their landscape. There is no need for borders, but local decisions should be made by the people living there - not massive corporations miles away.
