Glad to hear that the President like this! So sad that that he can lose the election to people who wants the world to go on like it is! What the world now needs, is an american president that can use his powers to change things because this world, as we see it will go down!
Al! You just got the biggest promo that anyone could ask for, for a song that is so old and still good, But most of all, it tells us a lot about our president. Just think... it could have been someone like Herman. Aside from the politics, this black man and his family are really down to earth people.
Ah man, this is indeed the one only second best to "Let's Stay Together" I really love Mr. Green and back in the day, he was so very cute. There were really no comparisons to him and to this day, no one has come close. Hey!
@romienomie You are so right. We did not know how blessed we were growing up with this music. We have to bring it back and replace all the horrible negativity the youth of today hear...
I used to pass this song up because it starts off so slow but it grows on you the more you listen to it. I so love the harmony parts with the ladies singing and Al doing his thing, it is so beautiful.
Brings back great childhood memories. It was hard not to hear Al Green on the radio (AM) or (FM) during the 70s. I'm glad he was there making records. I know he became a Pastor but I don't feel he should shun this great music he created. He should be proud of his accomplishments and thank God that he gave Al this great voice.
I'm so glad I grew up with this kind of music. I love me some Al Green. He set the pace for the earlier 70's which gave way to Disco. Bring it all back....... : ) Hollah!
HEY REVEREND : Thank you for this, my favorite one of your songs....You can keep Let's Stay Together.....I LOVE THIS ONE BEST.....Sierra Cuban, Miami, FL
this is the kinda music that makes you get up out your chair, and if doesnt, your bobbin your head and singing along while sitting in your chair, i text my Uncle CJ lastnite and thanked him for playing Al Green around me as a kid, miss my Momma RIP my love..listen to his lyrics and his band play its undeniable, you gotta love Al Green..yeah i remember watching soul train on saturday mornings hoping to see Al Green,im greatful i was raised in an era where music stood 4 LOVE PEACE & SOOOOUL!!!!!
it's 9am Satuday morning. the lp's or 45's are stacked in the 6ft stereo with the flashing diso lights in the speakers. moma's up fixing breakfast and preparing to wake us up and put us to work cleaning the house from front to back lol!! while Al, Gladys, Aretha, Stevie, Marvin, James, the Temps, Smookie etc. play in the background. We try and complete our chores by 11am so we can gather around the T.V. for "the Sooooul Train"! This was truly the best music experience of my life!!
I'm grateful that I was around to experience music from this time period. True talent. We didn't realize how good it was until it was gone. The old school artists are stuck reliving the past. I say put their money together and market their own music. The talent of these artists should be even better. They'll still have a market of old schoolers to back them up and keep them in business for a long time. We should let the young people have their music, while we old schoolers have ours.
sorry tj if i ruined al green for u,but if it haunts u the way u haunt my being, our connection wasnt severed completely.never the less hope your well and happy
@cwalker51906 Mr. Green was an excellent singer but he also seemed to be a Song Stylist too. There really wasn't anyone that compared to him....til this day, they only try. He worked it with his background music like very few could do. But I rely on the goodness of other folks singing too. I sound like I'm about to croak when I sing. : )
lawd im 26yrs old and i get so turned on by this pic of AL Green from the 70s..if i lived during that time i would sure love to chill with him! WHOOOOO!!!!
Hey, I’m a young artist, & I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my cover of Michael Bublé’s “You’re Nobody till Somebody Loves You.” Although I’m knowledgeable that Michael Bublé was not the first to record the song, my version was inspired by his rendition, nonetheless. I promise you that you will not regret giving my version of the song a listen, & it will truly knock you off of your feet! So please listen & enjoy! Thanks!
Hey, I’m a young artist, and I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my original compositions “My Bluest Sky” and “Será.” “My Bluest Sky” sounds a bit like a cross between “Irreplaceable” by Beyoncé, “Water Runs Dry” by Boyz II Men, and “Tell Him” by Lauryn Hill. And “Será” is, of course, a Latin number that is very high energy, hot-blooded, and extremely unforgettable. Thanks!
