@LoZgamer1992 - It depends. A game like this I have memorized from years of playing. It takes dozens of play throughs to get to know the game enough for a truly good run. And then many, many attempts...

How can people honestly say that the Genesis' sound chip sounds worst than this! Now don't get me wrong im not knockin this game, imma Castlvania fan, and the level design looks great, but the sound and music, and even the backgrounds seem very lack luster compared to say Bloodlines on the Genesis. Blooslines is just brighter and sleeker...and better animated...

dude, you need to go see an ear doctor immediately!! how can you even compare the Genesis sound chip to the SNES? no comparisson!!. As a long time Castlevania fan and owner of both games, Bloodlines is NOT better than SC4.

Best castlevania game by far.Music,Gameplay,Atmosphere,­This game has everything...And it is 20 years old.

I almost have a no death run,but that first boss in the last level with the spear head gets me every time.

@societyofsin - I agree this is the best in the series. And you're referring to Gaibon, he is a total ass in this game. Doing my pattern of jumping away always works for me.

SC4 is on my top 3 favorite Castlevania games from the series. Symphony of the Night, Rondo of Blood, and SC4. Yes, SC4 is older than both of the games i just mentioned and still is and forever will be part of my top 3 favorites :)

I've always wondered.. what exactly are those squares with the roman numerals, and what do they do? I know they've been around forever, but I have never figured out what they really do for you. Do they make you stronger? Do they increase your defense?

@Kohakukun19 - It boosts your sub weapon. (Knife, Cross, etc.) You can normally only shoot one at a time. The blocks let you shoot two and then three at a time.

@wickedlady4180 - It's actually on purpose. It's called damage boosting. Getting hit moves you quicker than Simon walks. It's not much alone, but doing it a lot over the course of the run adds up. The tool assisted speed run does it as well.

Very nice run man, theres a little trick to destroy castles and those bird faster, you have to jump and press the button to whip and hold it, and while youre in the air, press the arrow keys, im not good in english , maybe if you try it you will find it out
