  • Dear scooby,

    it's me again , still doing push-ups x-)

could it be that those muscles get trained by push-ups to?

  • at his age, its very possible to naturally get big traps w/o steriods. Its years and years of working out

  • steroïds...

  • OR just hard work

  • never again hes all natural i luv his work outs and sheet there bomb lol

  • hahhaa.... oh man

    I make taekwondo since 4 years ...

I go jogging every secound day and

    "work out" at my boxsack.

I also have muscle but i can use them and i'm no stupid guy who just want more and more fucking muscles. i don't think that he sportive guy, he just a jerk like you and every other bodybuilding guy....

    Go cry weedspeeddandlsd

  • You are just a moron with self esteem problems. Don't like the video? Don't watch it.

  • riight he is doing most of us a favor...for free not charging us anything for his advise n tips....wth is wrong with you?

  • his body is fucking ugly....

    look at his tits....

    bäääääääääääääääääääääh

  • ***

WOW moonstone007 nice way to show how jelous you are!

Why don't you get off the coutch and try working out, then maybe you wont be such a jelous ass! ***

Great videos man! I'm 17, and recently got into bodybuilding some time ago. It has really improved my life. Your videos help a lot! Thanks! =)

  • haha me too man its pretty awsome to build mussuls =) makes you look sexy lolz

  • Thats very interesting stuff!

I am gonna try that right now in the gym!

    thx 4 the advise

  • Omg, I can't stop stareing at you tities..... No Homo...

  • haha his face doesnt fit to the body ;DDD

  • Excellent instructions! Tips, Tricks, and Traps(sorry for the pun). I love his side commentary - it has a subtle touch of humor to it. Keep up the great work!

  • you body is amazing....perfection

  • Brock Lesnar is shaped like a big pencil. lol

  • whats the point of having strong traps? how do they benefit u in any way? if u have strong arms and chest u can lift stuff but wat do strong traps give u

  • well one of the ways it benefits you is that if your a martial artist, it will stabilize your punch therefore an increase of punching power. and they also look good when you take of your shirt lol.

  • hahaha a big pencil oh man that's great, I've seen so many idiots with that... but done properly like you said, does looks great.

  • hahha shaped like a big pencil! lol

  • that hat is fucking sick

  • is the best

  • was für eine schwuchtel bist du denn fritz walter.....

  • You did not just dis-respect scooby1961...

That hat is the most baller shit ever.

  • great vid but

do you have any tips on reps and sets

  • bigpencil ha ha ha!

i like this guy and im not gay,you re just sooo cool the opposite of me, keep it coming nice vids!

  • ya pretty funny, really helpful too.

  • erm... why is it gay?

  • WOW omg that's freaky but kool :] but i was freaked out wen u rolled ur shoulders cause the bone at your nipples/breast -_- were like rolling well.... something like that O.o

  • this guy's a legend, keep up the good videos!

  • I read your whole homepage and you inspired me to achive great results. Since I have 6 months of gym xp, the minute I read your advice, I started your intermediate home workout program and diet. After only about a month or so I already see results. Who needs roids, when you have Scooby! :)

Anyway, I do dumbbell shrugs every second week along with my shoulder excercises (1x a week). Is that ok and how many reps/sets do you recommend for someone who follows your intermediate program for a month?

  • rele good tips thx

  • I get my vains popping out too when i work out and i'm not even ripped or buff, a bit overweight actually. I think it does that because your blood pressure goes up when you exercise and it just pumps really hard.

(not sure though) it's pretty natural to get vains popping out though lol

  • veins pop out due to heat resulting in vasodilation

  • your vains squiggle...my father says thats a sign of steroid usage please tell me thats not true because i look up to you...

  • he could just have thin skin naturally or from age (no offense), or you can get vascular by drinking red wine

  • you dad is dumb =)

everyone has different types of vains not all are straight some are "squiggle"

  • my veins pop out and im a 120lb skinny manlet.

    no steroids.

  • what about one hand and then sec hand ... it still good like both hands ?

  • Yeah i agree, please keep making your videos!

  • Who cares what the looks like? seriously? I watch his videos because he obviously knows what he's talking about and gives sound advice for free, he could charge the earth for them but doesn't. Keep up the great work

  • great video !

i helped me a lot.. thank you

  • I just saw two videos by you. I find the informative narrative useful, even if it's about seemingly simple and easy moves.

I'd like to know if traps are easily stimulated by this exercise only, varying only reps and weight, or do you need to learn other trap excercises too as you advance?

  • big pencil!!!

    roflcopter!! hahahaha

I've actually seen ppl like that

    lol

  • me too but i think they look like arrows lol

  • hahaha

nice this was actually worth the space in my inbox and my time to reply

  • This whole time I was doing them wrong.....Good stuff here..

  • Looks and talks like a nerd but his body speaks for himself!

  • Excellent bro.

  • i aint hatin but he looks kinda goofy lol but he knows his shit though

  • nice traps brah

  • lol you remind me of a physically amazing version of my librarian. You speak like him, and kind of look like him.

Thanks for this video, I did this earlier today and had many problems. I think I may have messed up my rotator cuff.

    So once again, thank you.

  • why dose that even matter....hes showing a workout, who cares if he has a stutter which he clearly dosent

  • Hey dude you are awesome :)

Do you have a stutter though?

  • sweet vid man, thanx heaps

  • scooby - thank you :)

  • Thanks scooby your the best im going to do that starting tomorrow morning my coach said that i will proboly end up wreslting 119 and have a good chance at winning states this year if i had to wrestle 125 i defenetly wouldent have had a chance. thanks again scooby!

  • hey scooby how can i get stronger but stay the same weight because im a wrestler and working out has already affected my weight i went from 112 to 119 in a month i dont want to wrestle 125 do you have any addvice?

  • OK,most people would throw a party if they were able to add 7lbs muscle in a month but I understand as a wrestler, its strength/weight ratio thats important. The obvious things to do are 1) remove all bodyfat as it doesnt help strength. 2) do a low sodium diet as the retained water doesnt help your strength either. After that, I can only suggest you work with your coach to try and come up with ways to increase strength without adding muscle - good luck, the two usually are tied together.

  • hey man thanks for the video...btw i have a question..will this be all i need to do to get some big taps like yours or r there other excersises i need to also do?

  • This is the only exercise I do for traps. Remember though that gaining muscle is a very, very slow process - think years, not months.

  • hey scooby,

were you always in good shape even when you were younger? im only 17, i eat healthy, and workout maybe 2-3 times a week, with crunches and pushups every night... i play a lot of sports, but that little bit of fat around my torso just won't ever go away, and so my lower abs don't eally show:(, what i want to know is if you always had a lean body build, even before you started lifting and doin cardio on a regular basis??

  • dude you're huge.

I have a lot of trouble overcoming ego in my training and sacrifice form way too often.

  • dont you thinks its funny how you cant stop your mouth moving when doing the traps me n me mates have had sum right lafs

  • Haha, ur so right, i just worked my traps today for the first time in months and found myself making funny faces the whole time... scooby is the man

  • i bet he watches his own videos at night and fondles himself

  • hey man i am going in the army and i been doing normal circuit tranning and i jsut started pumping wieghts etc but whats the best way to tone up?

  • cant explain in 500chars. Please check out my website.

  • Deserve a lot of respect

especially when the workouts you do

    are home workouts

  • hi iv been watching a lot of ur videos and trying them out n me and my gf have notice i have become more fitter and a little bigger in the space of 3 week is this good or 2 fast?

  • can u tell me how many reps u should do? thanx

  • Xpunk, Till failure

  • 8-12 best for building

4-6 is also build but more for strength, but mix it, i do 2 weeks heavy and 2 weeks lighter weight

  • ive seen almost all your vids and youve givin me courage to start being more fit i bought weights and all that but now i just dont no the right days and everything do you think you can make a fitness schedual,,,,it would help alot if you do just send back

    thanks

  • check out my website under "Plans" to see some suggested workout schedules for different ability levels.

  • Can you tell me how to fix my problem of having the right-side of my traps better developed than the left? I got that way from using only my right arm on the assembly-line at work and it looks ridiculous when I take off my shirt

  • alright thanks

  • how long did it take you to get them that big

  • How long did it take me to get my traps this size, about 17 years. I've been lifting seriously for 25years but my growth occured in the first 17. Fitness is not quick

  • good information man.

whats a good workout for the lower part off the chest?

  • having said that though...you look like the next schwarzernegger :D lol and i went downstairs and tried out the dumbell shrugs and your other video about a killer chest workout so you make great vids.

  • ive seen alot of your videos and there very good and informative thanks

  • are you a body builder?....oh and your head seems kinda smaller and out of proportion to the rest of your body:P

  • lol

  • I havent found any exercises yet to make my head bigger, I try reading, memorizing, and studying and my head circumference still wont grow! :) Yep, when you are 240lbs your head looks smaller proportionally than when you are 140lbs.

  • that was an excellent video, thanks a lot! excellent advice, you answered all my questions that I had on traps!!

  • thank you man ur the best...

  • To be honest, I just can't get enough of ur vids. Thx fantastic workout

  • nice vid -- a few weeks ago i saw chuck zito and he had a big as pensil neck

  • I respect and love what you do. It has helped me lose weight and start to gain muscle mass. Weird question, but have you ever dressed up as a Superhero?

    ~MikeydeeBee

  • Hey mikeydeebee53,

I did Batman one halloween, that was fun.

  • nice body btw

  • Another great video. Keep it up Scooby.

  • Big pencil haha :)

  • amazing!

how about a forearms workout video? :) we need it!

    thanks for your videos

  • I think hammer curls are the best ones for forearms, from what I hear anyway. ;)

    watch?v=NdlY5xhvZ_Y

  • reverse arm bar curls

  • Hey kedordu,

Sorry, I should have read your response first. You and AVFC111 already answered narcislopez's question.

  • Hey narcisolopez,

I dont know about other people, but I have to be very, very careful with forearm exercises or I get elbow tendonitis very easily and it takes forever to heal. I do them only very sparingly and only at the end of a workout when I'm fatigued enough that I can struggle with a very light weight . The two exercises I do are reverse curl and hammer curls. I think I already have videos of those, check out my gallery.

  • u r the best bro

  • Hey scoobby, you look better than ever, you defy logic bro, great inspiration for us natural bodybuilders(I'm straight btw)

  • teach me about negatives and what they do to your body and muscles plz

  • Very useful tips and you are really funny. Can you post a good home workout routine for shoulders? Thanks!!!

  • Hey chihchung,

Check out my website, I have a full shoulder program.

  • haha lmfao a pencil

  • hey scooby i have a question,ok i believe in your slow-strict form workouts, but i practice martial arts and for developing more pyshical power i see that martial artist and boxers often lift weights with bad form and really fast..what can u say about that?should i train faster or u think this slow motion workouts are more effective..

  • Hey Dimitrios57x,

Good point. Bodybuilding workouts are not good for all athletes. Sports where speed or endurance are the most important factors are poor candidates for traditional bodybuilding workouts. There not too many marathon runners out there with bodybuilding physiques because the extra mass is detrimental to race times.

I dont have any experience in this kind of training, I would check with where you train for martial arts and see if a black belt there can give you a program.

  • resistance training is great for explosiveness. i've been working out with Aylio resistance bands for a few months and have never felt more explosive

  • I cant find your email scooby.Hey scooby, I'm looking to increase my vertical leap for basketball. Do you have any tips? Jumping is about explosiveness I would think, so dont you think doing the exercises fast and explosively would help you to be more explosive? As in jumping.

  • As a quick note, the quad-assisted shrug isn't so much a shrug as it is a precursor to power cleans. I agree on the note that it's not a good way to do anything for shoulders, obviously.

  • Hey jonnosferatu,

Good point. Its a valid exercise to do it that way as long as you realize you are doing a pre-cursor to the power-clean and not just a shrug.

  • I admire your contributions

    respect

  • make more vids

  • Holy ****, this guy is ****ing awesome. He is like the Bob Ross of body building.

  • Hey Fl1ps,

I had to look up who Bob Ross was :) Ya learn something every day!

  • Even though this is a simple exercise this is still a very informative video because as easy as shrugs are, I am forever seeing people doing them wrong in the gym. I lift with the same principles as scooby but everytime I watch a video I learn at least one or 2 things new that make life easier and more productive.

  • another great video! love the 'this is not how to do it parts', also love the new hat :)

  • thanks for another great video.

  • Hola! Thank you

  • Hola tidos79,

Hablo solomente un poco Español. La lentitud de ejecución del ejercicio es mas importante del peso.

  • Thanks for the awesome info.

  • LOVE YOU ^^

  • For some reason the video isn't loading for me. Can you please elaborate on the 2 second rule?

Boonie hats for the win, bro.

  • what type of foods would i eat to reduce boby fat. i know you have to eat portine for your musles growth and eat 5 meals a day. but i want to know what espiscally to eat

i would really appericate your help

    thnak you

  • eat 500calories under your maintenance calorie intake

  • Hey Richard0Monono,

Check out my website under Nutrition>LosingWeight

Basically eat more veggys and whole grains but cut out the fat.

  • How many Reps and sets u suggest? I have a pair of 30plb.

  • Hey scooby, love your vids ... they're really helpful ... just got a question:

how do u build muscle mass? cuz i'm only 135lbs and i'm having a hard time growing big muscular pecs and my wrist is also really skinny.. i wanna grow muscle mass on both of them but i'm having a bit of difficulty ... any suggestions?

  • I have always thought of having a skinny wrist as being a + when building mass because it gives a contrast from your wrist to your forarms to your bicepts. Its like if you would have fat anchles your calves wouldnt look as big.

  • Hey casablankaman427,

Adding muscle mass is a very slow process, for all muscles. Just keep lifting regularly and you will very slowly get stronger and bigger. Good nutrition is key, without it you are wasting your time lifting.

  • I thanks you soo much for making these vids. they're a great help :D

  • nice hat scoob!!

  • yay a new video! I just wanted to thank you for all the free information from your website and this youtube site and all these video workouts, that is really nice of you to take the time and make all these for us, I am hoping to get a body like yours one day, your awsome!

  • yer one thing he is neglecting to tell you is you are going to need sme sustenon50,Decca 350 and a shit load of drive, and with one swift movement jab into rear deltoid

  • Hey tomma2259,

No! No! No! Please check out my website, this is about health, not fast gains. As I have said repeatedly, bodybuilding is a very, very slow process. Even with intense workouts and perfect nutrition putting on 5lbs muscle in a year is about it. The good news though is that you can do that year after year, safely. After a decade you 'wake up' and you have 50lbs more muscle. Genetics play a role but even those who are genetically disadvantaged can make good gains.

  • if that makes u feel better about urself lol

  • hey, great advice on all your video's, thank you for the tips, and whats with the tan? lol, just kidding :)

  • hehe.. a big pencil..

  • make more vidss

  • I was wondering if you would be interested in making a "proportion" video.. i have a hard time getting my shoulder's and back in proportion with my chest/biceps. I would kill to have your body dude, keep up the great work. Oh and btw, your videos rock.. you should really compile a dvd and sell them or something..

  • scooby you are a fricking hero.. i wish i had your body dude

  • he looks like hes showin off, lol, but im not hatin

  • great !

  • your lower chest is very developed scooby..what excercise do you do to target this area? also to get the line down the middle of your chest to come out

  • Great video!!! :D!!!!!!

  • scooby i have one shoulder bigger then the other lol i never been gym or weight lift much, how can i equael them to the same size? w.b please

  • Hey mor7y07,

If you have never worked out before and one shoulder is bigger than the other, it would probably even out if you started lifting regularly. I wouldnt recommend doing just the smaller shoulder, I would exercise both equally.

  • I broke my left wrist twice and it is A LOT smaller than my arm on the triceps and its just missing a little on the biceps, should i just work one out or both equally

  • I only work out my traps and my neck so I look like a body builder in pictures.

  • traps is the coolest muscle on the body im taking 65kg on each arm on this

  • loool! his head doesn't match his body at all!

  • sign of jealousy, how pathetic.

  • haha

  • Do you follow the G.I. diet at all? I have followed it for one month now and love it. I recommend it to everyone. I'm 145 and certainly not looking to loose weight, but just the general health benefits of phase 2 are solid.

  • Hey bbucek,

Never heard of the G.I. Diet till you mentioned it. It seems the basic premise is to avoid simple carbs, like table sugar and wonderbread, which I 100% agree with. Anytime you substitute those with high fiber, low-cal things like veggys and whole grains you are going to lose weight.

  • Yah man, I learned a lot from it. I never new that protein and complex carbs actually slow down digestion leaving one feeling fuller for longer. It all seems to make sense after reading it. I find myself eating ALOT of "Astro Fat-Free Zero" yogurt to get off the insulin spikes. I still live at my parents house which is full of simple carbs so it is really difficult to comply. I'm leaving soon for Army training and am psyched about a nutritionally disciplined atmosphere for once! Thanks for re-

  • Hey 7583476,

You are young and lean. Take the weightlifting slowly (you are still a bit too young) and eventually you will get to your goal.

  • Great vid.

Would it be possible to show some ways of training calfs at home. Thanks!

  • Hey PePPaRoZ,

Calves are tough to train at home because of their strength. About the best you can do is to hold dumbbells in your hands and raise up to your toes. Not a very good exercise. I'd love to hear of anyone having a way to exercise calves at home.

  • I do alot of skipping and hill sprints with weight on my back, this gets them warmed up. Then I typically go on a step in my home and with one leg at a time, lay my toes on the edge and raise and lower. I use an arm for balance but try to work the stabilizer muscles so I don't need my arm. Then of course I do stretching. This is done immediately after the stair exercise by lowering myself as much as possible and holding and relaxing, one at a time.

  • try seated calf raisers with a barbell on ur legs, but take between bar and legs to protect them

  • right scooby, im not lifting 100kgs or anything, but ive taken advice of your 2 second rule and have found, that it works and im getting so much more muscle ache than before. how often would u recomend working out, and how long for? i used to aim for at least every 3 days, but im not sure i can keep it up, because im really shattered!! cheers

  • Faggg

  • runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape runescape

  • stop spamming his video page... hopefully he deletes your stupid repeated remarks

  • Nice video.I bought some push up bars after watching your push up video and i get very sore after using them. They make my lats very sore too which i wasnt expecting.I've noticed that the soreness sneaks up on me a lot slower than with just dumbells.

  • Hey fatuesque,

Thats why I LOVE pushups, they are a complete upper body workout!

  • Me to. I usually do as many (3:00 min into "hindu vs. divebomber pushups) wall pushups as possible which I am at 6, then rapidly into divebomber pushups, then finish off with regular military pushups. My circuit involves 3 sets of this, close and open grip chinups, and one legged squat hops. Then I fly throught the (ab workout (6 pack abs)) video twice with pelvis up and contracted, finishing off with a grip workout on the captain of crush grippers and some forearm raises front and back...

  • save your time and do rack deadlifts..would you rather pick up 200 lbs in total..or 500 lbs of rack deadlift?..i use the 500 rack DL.

  • up and deeewnnnn!!

  • I was wondering if you use steroids or not...your 46 and your body look like it in its prime 20s busting steroids like crazy. It's not an insult or anything but i really haven't met anybody who can achieve that body type with out steroids.

  • You dont need steroids to get big.Exercise, diet and sleep are enough to get almost anyone to a good size.

  • Hey Silverjda,

I appreciate the compliment! No I dont, nor have I ever used steroids. I've been lifting 25 years 5 days a week. All my gains were in the first 17 years, the last 7 I either hit my genetic max or I'm too old to add more muscle.

Its two parts: genetics and hard work. Not everybody can build a body like mine in 25years of lifting, I have better than average genetics. Having said that, most people you are comparing me to havn't worked out 6,500 times :) 6,500=25yrs@5days/wk

  • Hi, do you have any work out tips for younger guys? I'm 14, nearly 15, and I'm wondering if there's any differences for age in the work outs you demonstrate. What tips do you have for someone my age?

  • probably whatever this guy shows you is ok, but for someone any younger than you, I would say high reps low weight. Heavy lifting by young people leads to growth and posture problems.

  • Hey Wesley730,

Sorry, I think you are too young for weightlifting. PE type exercises like pushups and pullups are ok but I wouldnt touch the weights till 17 or so. Till then, please consider a team sport like hockey or soccer, they will help your coordination and balance as well as giving you a great cardio workout.

  • DUDE your fucking ripped do you take steroids or something DAMN good video 5 starzzz o and can you please make a video how to get Lower abs or give me some Understanding you know if you could that would be definably GREAT!!! :D!!!!!!!
