  • Great Video, Thanks for the help!

  • .. And this taught me what?

  • thanks

  • Thank you.

  • i don't know why it's not showing up but i'll try again.

the greater than and less than signs are called chevrons, and the symbols used for enclosing style elements in css are called braces.

  • Hey bro, I appreciate the tutorial, but just to let you know...instead of saying "greater than sign" and "less than sign", you should say "start bracket" and "end bracket." Not only is this much more intuitive, but I believe this is the industry standard. Thank you.

  • since you're being so helpful, I hope you don't mind some help yourself. They are actually called braces. The brackets are the the other symbols in the uppercas of the #'s 9 and 0 and the lowercase of the actual braces he is talking about.

    Your Welcome.

  • can i ask a question?

u see the HTML page u open? u see the tabs at the top of the HTML page underneath where it says 'untitled 1'. it has various tabs 'code' 'split' 'design' and so on..

ive lost all those tabs. how do i get them back? ive clicked close somwhere and cant see how to reopen them.

    thanks

  • right click on the area it usually sits and and you should see - insert - style rendering - document - standard

click on 'document' and it should place a tick there and the buttins will re-appear

  • nice tutorial, in it you asked if CSS is case sensitive I can tell you its not. However, font families, URLs to images, and other direct references with the style sheet may be.

The trick is that if you write a document using an XML declaration and an XHTML doctype, then the CSS class names will be case sensitive for some browsers.

It is a good idea to avoid naming classes where the only difference is the case,

  • keep adding more tuts! awesomeness. period.
