  • hey I play cornerback what would be the best fit for me

  • @ShawtyDred678 We'd probably start with either the Armor Flex or O2 Flex, if you're a varsity player. They're the lightest shoulder pads in our line but still give you great range of motion and protection. Go for the Skill model in either line.

  • what shoulder pads should i use? i am a defensive tackle.

  • @bkmardjuki We'd recommend the age appropriate model in the OL/DL style. The OL/DL styles all feature our exclusive no-epaulet design - giving offensive linemen one less thing to grab onto you with.

  • hi im a SS TE KR PR what should i use, were could i buy this, and the new schutt ion

  • @bigusamafia44 That's an interesting combination of positions. A strong safety and tight end should usually go for the All Purpose pad styles, but those might be too big for returning kicks. You might want to try the O2 Flex All Purpose or Skill models... The O2 is our lightest should pad but still provides great protection and performance.

  • @SchuttSports thank u so much for the help

  • @bigusamafia44 Oh, and you can but them from any Schutt dealer near you or search online for an internet dealer.

  • I am a quarterback.. what are the best pads for my position?

  • @menangitis Unless you're a Tim Tebow or Michael Vick type quarterback - IOW, a running QB - the best shoulder pad will be the QB/WR shoulder pad. That will give you maximum range of motion. Others to consider would be the Skill pad or, if you run ALOT, the All Purpose pad.

  • Which would have more of the arch cut out? The skill or all purpose

  • @RedYellowandGold The Skill model would have more arch cut away - in order to decrease weight and maximize range of motion.

  • im an tight end and i was wondering.....which pad is better for me , O2 or Air flex....and what design skill all purpose? tnx

  • @lisica2388 If you're a receiving tight end, we'd recommend the O2 Flex. It's significantly lighter and provides fantastic coverage and protection. If money is an issue, the O2 Flex is quite a bit less expensive than the AiR Flex, which is our top of the line shoulder pad.

Either pad will be a great fit for you. We'd recommend the Skill model if you do a lot of running and catching and the All Purpose pad if you're mostly a blocking tight end.

  • @SchuttSports thank you for help, yesterday i allready bought o2 skill cause i was going back to europe, i was in a need because we had a game today...and we won yeeeey....do you have any store in europe near Croatia

  • @lisica2388 That's great. Best way to locate a Schutt dealer near you is to go to our website and use the dealer locator. There is a country locator feature built into it.

  • which pad is the most protective pad the o2 flex, the varsity frex, the xv flex or the armor flex?

sorry for my englisch but i´m from germany

  • @MrANTS50 No worries. We understood perfectly. All of the shoulder pads in our line protect and perform very well. Each has its own unique features. The O2 Flex is the lightest shoulder pad in our line. The Armor Flex is a fabric covered pad. The XV and Varsity Flex pads are terrific entry level type pads into the varsity market. The 02 Flex is a great pad and the most expensive of the group you mentioned. But, it's also the best pad of the group.

  • Im a defensive tackle which shoulder pad is better the o2 flex or the air flex?

  • @XFuzionii Either should pad will be fine, it just depends on how much you want to spend. The AiR Flex is our top of the line, professional-grade pad and the O2 is #2. The O2 is lighter than the AiR Flex, which might be a factor and is less expensive. Which ever pad you choose, go for the non-epaulet, OL/DL style.

  • And what are the visual comparisons between the skill and all purpose?

  • Which typr of O2 flex would be good for an inside and outside linebacker? Skill? or All Purpose?

  • @RedYellowandGold We'll answer both of your questions here. At LB, either inside or outside, we'd recommend the All Purpose style. It's a bit heavier than the Skill but it provides maximum coverage and protection. The Skill is designed to be lighter and give you greater range of motion for your arms (to make it easier to make catches, etc). The only real difference you'll see is the color of the body cushion and the cut of the arch design.

  • Is the protection ( or padding ) in the O2 the same as the AiR flex..?

  • @21bryan1 The O2 is a little different. It's the lightest shoulder pad in our line and has O2 "windows" cut into the body. That decreases the weight without compromising protection and boosts air circulation. The AiR Flex features Brock Beaded Quilt technology while the O2 Flex has Brock High Impact technology.

  • im a wide receiver and i was wondering what pad is better for me the air flex or the o2 flex

  • Oh that makes bc o2 flex hard material

  • On Facebook it says that this is lightest pads but this says armor flex who is right

  • @Sh3aCas3m3nt The Armor Flex is the lightest (by far) fabric covered shoulder pad on the market while the O2 Flex is the lightest shoulder pad in our line.

  • @SchuttSports Whats the main difference and advantage/disadvantage between fabric covered and non fabric shoulderpads?

  • any chance this will ever take of in south africa ?

I really want to start football here.

  • @moefapie We'd love for football to take off in South Africa, obviously. Some of the world's best athletes are there. There are American Football communities starting up all over the world - Europe, Japan, Austrailia, England... but we've not heard of anything in South Africa.

  • @SchuttSports So there is no chance of a campaign being launched in R.S.A. or something?

P.S. I know of ONE in Cape Town but thats 1400 KM from Vereeniging.

  • @moefapie It's really not within our control, unfortunately. It's in the hands of the local people - people who love the game of football enough to draw enough support to start a team/league. We would love for there to be 25 teams in every town, obviously, as we would have more potential customers to sell gear to - but it's up to the local people to get the ball rolling.

  • schutt makes my favorite helmet but i was a dissapointed to find this snaptheball(DOT)com/Shoulderpad_Comparison(DOT)pdf Were they bash every other shoulder pads which would be fine if the facts were true but the Gear2000 uses brock bead technology and it says it does not also the gear 2000 is just as light no were near 25% heavier and the douglas pads do not use "sofa foam"

  • davestallion08: The Armor Flex is our lightest pad, although the O2 is a close second. The vapor windows not only provide superior air circulation it also decreases the weight.

  • In terms of weight, how much do the xl o2 flex and xl armor flex weigh each?

  • davestallion08: They are extremely close in weight but the Armor Flex is slightly lighter. They both offer superior protection and you can't go wrong with either one. If you haven't already make sure you check out the Armor Flex Tech video. Let us know which one you decide on and how you like it. Don't hesitate if you need anything else.

  • Are the O2 flex shoulder pads lighter than the Armor Flex shoulder pads? I saw that the cushioning is different as well and I wanted to know which offered more protection.

  • Thank You Very Much. I Now Have The Green Light To Order The Air Flex QB Pads For Next Year. My Final Question Is If The Varsity Back Plate Fits The QB Air Flex Pad?

    Thank You Schutt Sports!

  • 13dustyd: The Impact pad has a 3 piece arch and because some rivets are on the hitting area it is more pron to break down than our arches which are one solid piece. It also has no ventilation through the arch so your body heat has no where to go. The O2 and AiR Flex have ventilated arches which allow heat to escape and cool air to come in. The O2 Flex vapor windows take air circulation to the next level as the large windows allow more cool air to come in.

  • Comment removed

  • 13dustyd: No problem we're glad to help. First off the Impact Pad is anywhere from $360.00 to $400.00 while the O2 Flex will retail for about $150.00 so there is a major price difference between the two. If you're in the high end pad market make sure you check out our AIR Flex which is about $270.00 to $320.00.

  • Thank you for the input.

But I was introduced to "Impact" shoulder pads recently. Impact has numerous college and NFL teams using their pads, but I trust Schutt more. My question is whether or not the O2 is as light as Impact pads (212 model) and which one offers better protection because the Impact pads look so much smaller. I prefer the O2 but my family sources say Impact. If this information is available I'd like to use it to plead my case. Thank you.

  • Have these pads made it to the market yet? If so I'll check my local dealer; if not what date will they be availiable. I know the proposed time slot was spring but I have games starting up in late March and my time on choosing pads is running short.

  • 13dustyd: Both pads are great and you can't go wrong with either one. Th o2 enhances air flow and is ideal in keeping you cool. The QB is going to give you more range of motion but consider getting a back plate or rib protector because you're exposed with it's high cut. The skill is a longer but because the arch has a deep cut on the edges you'll still get great range of motion. You really need to try each one, make some passes and see which one will be best for you personally.

  • I Am A QB Looking For Pads For Next Year. I Am Stuck Between The O2 And The XV Pads. I'd Like Your Inquiry On Which Pad Is Better Suited For QB's. Also, Are The "Skill" Pads Good For QB's? I Prefer The Skinny And Longer Front On The "Skill" Pads Than The Short "QB" Pads. Thank You.

  • Mspell500: The O2 Flex has channel blocks that brings the pressure off the A/C. We have both the neck roll and adult back plate that will add additional protection. The O2 Flex will be about $150.00, Neck roll 29.99 and back plate $19.99

  • My son is a high school linebacker. He has had a tender AC joint at times and is a hitter. What pad would you recommend? Also with a back plate and neck roll top line price would be about what? Thank you in advance.

  • HeadlessCharlie100: The AiR Flex is out top of the line so you're on the right track. Based on the additional positions he's going to play I'd recommend upgrading to the AiR Flex Skill which will give him extended protection while still providing the range of motion he needs. Otherwise if you want to keep the QB-WR consider an air flex rib protector for extra protection.

  • I need some help trying to figure out which pads to go with this year. My son is a wide receiver so last season we got him the Air Flex QB/WR pads and they worked great. But this season he is going to be playing a lot more receiver and linebacker and special teams so I want to get him pads that will work for a receiver but still allow him to deliver big hits at linebacker and special teams. What do you recommend?

  • Kage66forsaken7: The O2 flex uses Hi-Impact EVA foam with 5mm perforations to provide an ideal level of protection and ventilation.

  • What type of padding is used in the O2 and how does it compare to the other pads in your line up?

  • kykypy3ka27: The air flex uses "brock beaded cushioning system" which is our top of the line pad. The XV uses an energy block transfer system that distributes the impact over a wider area.

  • what about pads system? like air flex or vx flex?

  • derrickhardy601: The O2 Flex will be available Spring 2009 and will be around $150.00. You'll be able to get it from your local dealer or several online dealers. As a WR your best bet is the QB-WR or skill pad. Both are have a deep cut in the arch giving you maximum range of motion. The skill is a little longer in the front and will give you some extra protection

  • I am in the Ohio area so when will they be out here? I am 6'2' 205 WR playing semi pro football that loves to go across the middle what is the best paad stile for me plus how mush are they?

  • number52mlb: The XV flex has a better interior cushioning system than the varsity flex and has removable deltoid pads. The All purpose is great for a FB. The o2 Flex will be around $150.00 when it comes out Spring 2010. You'll be able to get it online or from your local dealer.

  • i play full back for 9th grade should i use extra protection and wat shoulder pad is better the xv or the varsity flex.o and how much is the o2 flexB?

  • Kage66forsaken7: We'd be happy to help, the O2 flex is an ideal pro pad and the QB-WR pad would be ideal for you. It will give you the range of motion you'll need for catching. It includes a built-in back plate but you can't remove it, you can get a soft or traditional rib protector if you want a little extra protection. It will be in stores spring 2010, check with your local dealer or your favorite on-line store.

  • I was thinking of getting the XP Protective Shirt and Girdle for added protection to the torso and replacement for traditional vinyl pads. I didn't intend to remove the back plate as they are very nice to have. It was more of curiosity. Thank you for the response.

  • Can this pad withstand the rigor of Semi Professional football? Also I play WR and DB, can you recommend which arch I should get? I like the inclusion of the back plate built in with the QB/WR setup, but is it removable if need be? When can I expect stores in my area (SE Idaho) being able to have this pad in stock? Sorry lots of questions. Thanks. Kage

  • domeyz: The Schutt o2 Flex should retail right around the $150.00 price point depending on which arch you get.

  • i purchased the airflex. best shoulder pads i ever had. very glad i got them

  • so how much do they cost?
