If you think about just how many songs have been put out. Then similarities between some songs are bound to happen. Just because songs sound similar does not mean the other artist ripped the other off. One may not have heard the other song or may have heard it and thought that would go perfectly with such and such lyrics. It isn't like both songs are exactly the same.A lot of people think that celebrities in general are all knowing gods, but in reality they are just regular people with talent.

oh last comment, (for now anyway) Outlaw Pete was one of those songs that about Half of my section got up to leave while the other half sat down. I Was Made For Lovin You is a better song anyway. it still gets the ladies on the dance floor at clubs which is more than i can say for Outlaw Pete. again, i Do like Bruce also and have Tremendous respect for him, but someone's gotta give Kiss a fair shake and be Mature about this whole thing, and well, tell it like it is. =)

also, i saw Both Springsteen & KISS in concert in the Same week. 2 Bruce & 1 Kiss. while i enjoyed both i gotta say, why during Bruce's shows during almost HALF of the shows, people kept getting up, going to concession stands, restrooms, etc., others sat down during half the show but at the KISS show NOBODY sat down for the ENTIRE show!only a HANDFUL of people got up to go to restrooms/concession stands. seems KISS concerts just May be more fun and less boring than Bruce afterall, huh?

This is just silly. Almost all popular rock is derivative of other songs. And Bruce has always borrowed liberally from his influences. For crying out loud, the music for Pink Cadillac is almost the same as Peter Gunn. And if you go digging, I think you'll find that Kiss's song was also derivative of other songs too. It's not like they invented some new and amazing way to play a few common notes in this song.

Now, the best example of all actually involves Paul Stanley himself. He was sued by the owners of I'm Eighteen for a song on Psycho Circus called Dreamin that sounded a little too much like I'm Eighteen, but not the whole song. In fact, the total time in the song where the similar riff is used is comperable to that in Outlaw Pete's similarity to I Was Made... It was settled out of court.

More important than that, the appellate court ruled he was entitled to his attorney fees from the losing party. And potentially Vini Poncia and Desmond Child, but it is unlikely Paul Stanley will, as I understand his share was sold to Hori Pro yeara ago. Doens't matter. George Harrison was found liable for plagiarizing "He's So Fine" by The Chiffons with "My Sweet Lord." The worst such case was John Fogharty, where claim was made he plaigarized (ready for this?) HIMSELF...seems the company that owned the publishing rights to "Run Through Th Jungle", a song Fogharty himself wrote, sued Fogharty for "The Old Man Down the Road" being too similar. Go figure...Bruce (or the publisher of this song) would do well to reach a settlement out of court.
