  • War Eagle! I loved it! I'm originally from Auburn, I have horses and my dad was a vet many years ago at the Regional Animal Disease Lab. Go vet students!

  • As an '82 AU Vet Alum y'all make me so proud!! Seriously, great job. Some of the most fun of my life was had at Auburn. Enjoy it while you can.

  • @mht391 ...And we all only have 2 more weeks to enjoy it. :-(

  • As a current vet student, I sincerely appreciate the humor in this!! Very funny and entertaining!!

  • Fantastic! Very funny, I'm sending the link to everyone. I did notice in the first video, you were not holding "banamine & xzylazine". That paste was actually phenylbutazone. :-)

  • @graveslr Thanks for spreading the word! By the way, do you know how hard it is to find words that rhyme with "phenylbutazone?" LOL Have a great week!

  • This AU CVM alum says great job! Catchy and educational!

  • lol the singers my brother in law

  • This is an AWESOME 'senior skit'---go Auburn Vet Students!!

  • this is awesome. i showed this to all of my horse crazy friends and i told some of the ppl that i volunteer w/ at ranch. this is just an amazing video thats true about for the most part and its funny. love it!

  • @dramagurl505 Thanks for your support!

  • LOL i love it!

  • really cute video, so funny, and true

  • this is the greatest thing i have ever seen.

  • I probably would have laughed if I hadn't euthanized a horse with a probable large colon torsion last night. The owners are the parents of young children, all of whom rode and showed the horse. Yes, these can survive surgery, but this horse had possibly already ruptured when I arrived, and the client could not afford referral. It was a nice horse and not that old. Right before the holidays.

Sorry to be a downer - if I'd had a different day yesterday, I'd have laughed...

  • So sorry for your loss... Our thoughts are with you.

  • Appreciated, but it wasn't my horse. I'm the veterinarian.

  • This Rocks! Awesome, idea and production - Keep it up, and "boo" to the "neigh" sayers. -

  • Love the video - glad you grabbed the website - actually thinking you should have a left rail list of symptoms on the site too.

  • Actually now working with Equus magazine to provide helpful information. :-)

  • I really like this video. It shows that horse owners need to know what the signs are. Really good job. Love the idea!

  • This equine vet thinks you all did a great job! Maybe some of my *special* clients will learn something.

    Gig 'Em Ags!!

  • love this. is there anyone we can contact in order to help keep this up? Or at least send praises to?

  • Not at all insensitive, IMO. Gives good information and raises awareness in a creative and memorable way.

  • Love it, love it, love it! I am a big fan of ALAC, and one of the things you teach WELL is "bedside" (should we say stall-side?) manner? Good humor and compassion goes a LONG way keeping owners fears in check.

Hope all is well, and posting kudos to Dr. Elizabeth Yorke for her hard work on my horse, The Thrill Seequer, and his lameness issues.

  • YES YES YES! omg this is freaken hilarious! just awesome from an equestrian point of view.

  • This video is getting thumbs up here at the EQS Dept. at William Woods University. What a clever way to point out the serious ramifications of colic. And as we have learned about the best parodies, they are all grounded in the most serious of subject matter. Kudos to you all, very educational. -LWard

  • Great video!! (Except the first 'commercial', which maligns coastal bermuda hay, which is not only a very good and nutritious hay, but which is also fed very safely to many many horses in the South) (including my own TBs, and TB x's for many years, along with orchardgrass).

Other than than, great fun, and good to keep folks aware and thinking!

  • Excellent! LOVE IT!

  • Education works best for most people when it is entertaining and catches their attention - excellent job everyone and thanks!

  • LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

You're getting the point across which is that MOST colic is preventable and MOST colic deaths are preventable with early detection. I have preached this for years! Fantastic job educating people...you guys rock!

  • This is very creative and sometime in the moment all you can do to stay sane is laugh. I am sure vet school is very hard on animal lovers. So much death...

I have lost two great horses to colic and it was very hard on our entire family. So I can see how some might feel like this is not so funny...

I do not think the students were trying to offend any one or be unkind, after all they are going to school so they can save our horses!

  • It's clever. The PC crowd needs to get over it. There is no harm here

  • Hilarious! You guys did a great job with this!

  • War Eagle! It is a great production! -Kenn

  • @homegrowntomatoes1 WAR EAGLE!

  • Very well done and FUNNY as hell. Only question is how did you guys find the time?

  • The group was on equine critical care, meaning they had a few breaks while they were not working. Well scripted and a good storyboard helped make the shooting only last about 3 hours.

  • Yes, we did. Is there a reason for your concern?

  • Enjoyed the video, glad you are having fun. I'm a 1981 AU CVM grad. Brings back memories of Auburn in the 1980's.

  • Lighten up! Many of us have had sick horses, seen dead horses, etc. These kids are just having fun and being extremely creative. They shouldn't have to tiptoe around the realities of being veterinarians just because they "might" offend an overly sensitive person. Being "PC" in this country has gotten ridiculous!

Auburn Vet Students? KUDOS to you all!

  • As a 4th year veterinary student currently on equine rotations, I hereby proclaim this video "BRILLIANT"!

  • Win.

  • This is Awesome! So Creative!!

  • Epicness. Sheer epicness.

  • LOVE.

  • Great video from start to finish!

  • this is amazing! im surprised bob is not in any of the videos since he was up there so much colicking...haha.

ps. when it says no horses were harmed in the filming of this commercial, it should have said no humans were harmed..especially with daisy in it!

  • We would have, but Melissa promised to keep her in line. She had some pink juice left over in her pocket, so Daisy kept cool.

  • Great video!

Is the horse at 1:59 Daisy? looks just like her.

  • Yep! That's her!

  • This is HILARIOUS! THANKS for the laugh...Great job!!!

  • Loved it

  • Best. Video. Ever.

  • Brilliant and clever, thanks for posting.

  • HAHA that was great very creative gotta love it

  • Love it! This is *so* going to be running through my head (and half the class's head) next time we do anything to do with colic in class. (Just finished a first intro lab on colic).

Just a few spots where I can't make out the words though, can you tell me what it says at 0:21 (All because I fed him some ------), and 1:13 (I just wish I'd known that his intestines ------ ).

  • You can download the lyrics by visiting FreeColicReport dotcom and then clicking the link below the video!

  • Thanks! Had most of the words right --- just missed a couple. (Coastal Bermuda Hay, and that his intestines just might tear for anyone else who's wondering)

  • Funny video especially for those who KNOW what you are talking about!!!! LOL LOL LOL

  • Fantastic!

  • Fantastic!

  • This is a CLASSIC!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely AWESOME! Thanks from someone who has been through it. Great smile to start my day!

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Great job! Funny! And the singer is kinda cute. <:o]

  • So awesome! Excellent tips, sense of humor, hilarious band instruments, and some great lines!

  • OMG from UC Davis I love you guys

  • I'm all too familiar with colic and Auburn Unv.! but this was clever I have to admit

so were those vet students in the video?

  • Yep, they are all 4th year students trying desperately to get through their equine critical care rotation.

  • This is great!

  • Too funny !

  • Excellent- I work at an Equine Vet Clinic and showed this to my co-workers!
