FYI Kale stems are perfectly edible. They are delicious and can be diced and cooked (boiled, steamed, pan-fried, etc.) just like broccoli stems. No need to throw away a good thing!

Kale stems are edible!! Don't throw them out. They just need a little longer cooking time than the leaves.
