You're using the wrong type of composting method.

@OyaSimpson If they are inside your house, I don't know how I figured this out but take a small glass of apple cider vinegar (has to be apple cider) and put plastic wrap over the top. Then poke holes in the top with a sewing pin. Then the fruit flies will go into the glass for the vinegar and get trapped inside. Change the Vinegar every week until your flies are gone

the decomposistion process makes heat, i had no problem with freezing with a large worm tower/box i made.

Temp is at 90+ here, don't have AC just box fans.
