Wouldn't having both characters physically hit the target prior to DoubleTake have a higher cumulative chance at thievery than Kid performing Pilfer on her own (since the odds of thievery go up as the thief adds 'hit counters' to the target)?
@hentaiseeker You are partly right there. You only need 1 thief to add 'hit counters' for a successful DoubleTake, and whoever added the counters must initiate the thievery. If Mel added to Enemy A and Kid added to Enemy B. You have the flexibility of Mel initiating DoubleTake on Enemy A successfully, or Kid on B successfully, if you switch, it will fail.
Which brings us to a paradox, if you have two thieves in your party, why use DoubleTake to steal 1 item from 1 enemy, when you can steal 2?
@hentaiseeker And also regarding this 'hit counters' thing, it would seem to me that it is tracked by your level. A low level Kid doesn't need the hit counters for a successful steal. Whereas as you progress to higher level, the hit counter seems to be imperative.
i would have guessed that fargo kid and mel would have a TRIPPLE, but when i checked, they didnt. god they need to remake, or even just reformat this game for ps3....
@j0llyblackgiant Unfortunately no, other than seeing two girls steal yet unfortunately again one item, there is nothing different other than pilfer or pillage.

does it do anything different than using pilfer by it self?

Ya I wonder what the point of doubletake is... Does it increase the chance of getting the rare steal?
IamCanadian3333 2 years ago
Nope, the chances of a steal is determined by another factor. Not the number of thieves.

this also applies with Kid's Pilfer and Fargo's Pillage

Nah, Kid and Fargo doesn't have double techs.
