If this is going to succeed (and I hope it does!), they're going to need to use Microvision's PicoP projector. Why? Because it's a laser-based scanning projector which means that the image is always in focus! If you're whipping the gun around, you can't be refocusing the image all the time!

Also, with the PicoP, the throw angle is a lot better at 1:1. That means that if you're 6' from the wall, you get a 6' image. So even 2 projectors would do the trick.

I tried a Syncmaster U70 but this won't work because Samsung has this tupid Ubisync Driver which doesn't support hardware acclerated Graphics(Directx etc.) so could someone please help me? All movement (W,A,S,D etc) is done with a gamepad thats been taken apart.

there are tonnes of emulator software out there where you can trick the computer into beliving the gamepad is an actual keyboard thus making it 100% compatible with all games.

I think that instead of the projector you should make a helmet/mask that you wear that has a curved screen on it. the only problem with that idea though is you will probably run into a wall every once and a while lol. Really nice job so far though it looks amazing.

I don't quite get this! If you are using a micro projector to beam onto a wall, then when you move the gun the view point in a first person shooter won't change but the projection image will from the projector, that's if the micro projector is mounted on the gun, is that so?

Realize that the background of the scene would be moving as you moved the gun as well, so the projected image will seem to "scroll" as you move the gun. Essentially, looking to your left with the gun would "reveal" what is to your left via the projector.
