One thing I don't understand at the end of his training Bruce prefers to spare a criminal by killing a lot of good guys so he wouldn't have to kill........?
"Raysh" (How it's pronounced in Arkham City) is the correct way of saying it according to his creators. Though, personally, I say "Raz." That sharp Z that flickers out off your tongue and just under your teeth like a hidden blade. It seems to just suit the assassin background of Ra's Al Ghul.
@DrTruthiness Awesome name. I thought Bane's point of view was more "Law is power" and he aims to be Power.... one of the best things about Bane as a later villain, is that most of the previous characters in Batman are motivated by ideology, but Bane doesn't even understand ideology, he literally does not understand anything about life except the purely Machivalli level. He has no abstract ideas. To him it's all power. And like the best villains he has a point.
@marcusduck He put on 100 pounds, but not a 100 pounds of pure muscle. 100 of muscle in a year like I said is near impossible and if he did he would be freakishly bigger.
@Stevenio it is for normal guys hes a pure mesomorph like me i haveto eat less so i dont put on too much muscle too fast cause the skin cannot keep up
Please don't have an opinion about Ra's not being a classic villain, if you hardly read the comics. Ra's is one of the most classic villains in the Batman comics. Seriously, most of you suck, just like Joel Schumacher's movies did.
I like Batman in this movie than in The Dark Knight. This movie defines the character so well. You actually give a damn about the character. And all the others as well. One of my favorite movies of all time!
How come no one ever talks about Liam Neeson in this. His performance was amazing, and I felt it was a little superior to Ledger's Joker in TDK. It's always Joker this, Joker that!
Being an asian, I find yankee's OBSESSION with secret ninja society absurd. Ninja power training at secret ninja base in the mountain blah blah: nothing new, BORING, makes me think "has these ppl watched too much Naruto?". But at least this movie was fun. And Ras' played by Liam Neeson was fucking hot. The man's got style.
This actor is always some fucking boss or teacher it's like he's never a student or amature..He has that same voice same acting and same kicking ass :l
Calling all critics!! Check out this Two-Face fan film on my page. Is it just me or does this dude look like Christian Bale? The guy is playing Two-Face in his own fan film and looks real similar to Bale.. Kinda weird since Bale plays Batman.
Is it wrong to like Batman Returns more than this movie? I liked The Dark Knight though just this movie was missing something for me and I think it was the lack of classic villains like Joker and Penguin etc. But The Dark Knight redeemed that for me by using The Joker as the main villain.
This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie! Liam Neeson just has such great charisma for being a wise, well-experienced teacher, and I love watching the training Bruce goes through.
@0Mellennium0 He says that the "training is nothing, the will is everything, the will to act" and I have seriously just revealed myself as a script nerd by writing that.
This really makes me hope for Ra's return in the trilogy. I think we'll get some flashbacks to Bruce's training in the 3rd film where he meets Talia. She's gonna try to resurrect her father in Rises.
if morgan freeman, james earl jones and liam neeson and the trailer voiceover guy made a movie together, my ears would orgasm to the symphony of their voices
@mi3456789 you silly boy, the retard is you :) he's R'as al ghul you idiot, look the movie again and again even 100 times, take the time u need to understand ^^
@MizelleYZ450F maybe.... the ninjas hid in complete secrecy so there is no way of knowing for sure. but they primarily lived in Japan and some parts of China
Neeson is an absolute genius actor, he could turn a shite script into a brilliant performance. This is easily the best '' hero learning'' phase of all the superhero-movies. Personally i found this film much better than the Dark Knight, maybe it was the overhype about DK, or this film set the bar. Either ways its fucking brilliant
@themenaceanish Idiot like you can't notice obious movie flaws beyond good actor performance. This movie is a masterwork and the leading piece of Nolan's series. Were a bit the publicity and some catch phrases sufficient drove that blind ? Guess you haven't understood anything about both films.
@whatusee06 This movie is a masterwork? LOL! It's a geneneric superhero movie. Batman Begins was soooo boring and dull. At least I didn't feel the same way for TDK mostly because of Heath's legendary performance as The Joker.
@themenaceanish You said you BB sucks because you found it boring? So you gonna to tell my Citizen Kane isnt a masterwork because its... borring? Sounds out you have any credibility in cinema. The music, cinematography, direction, allegoric and philosophic meaning, esthetic ARE what makes good movies, entertaining just makes selll popocorn and makes idiots like you talk nonsense. Beside, actors performance is maybe THE LEAST important thing in a movie. A good performance cant overthrow the rest!
@whatusee06 LOL! I didn't say Citizen Kane was boring. CK is quite possibly the most influential movie of all time and one of my favorites alongside Blade Runner, 2001 and Pulp Fiction. BB was a piece of boring shit lol! TDK was sooo much better, just saying.
@OmegaOwA Never thought about it like that until I saw this clip. Before watching the Nolan Batman movies, the only Batman I was exposed to were the other Batman movies made and the animated series. In those movies and cartoons, Batman was just a guy in a suit, with crazy high tech stuff on his belt who knew how to punch criminals and an expensive car.
I loved Batman Begins way more than TDK. This movie had such class. Ra's is easily my favorite live action villain of all time in film because of Batman Begins. What a badass. Everytime I see the movie Ninja Assassin, I keep thinking it's the backstory to the league of shadows.
@regulatorzone I hope he has a big role in the Dark Knight Rises. I read that in the novel, for Batman Begins, they never found his body when the train crashed under Wayne Enterprises. Having him in the movie will be pretty cool, but the do have a lot of villians already in the movie. But hopefully the genius, Christoper Nolan, will figure out a great way to put him in the DKR
i have the leaked trailer for the dark knight rises on my channel no bullshit. if your pleased with what you see comeback and thumbs up this comment so people know hurry before warner bros takes it down.
probably one of the most underated movies ever seriously it wasn't terrible but not many people liked it which i dont understand but its kinda like without this movie the dark knight would never have been what it was, this movie needed to be a decent movie to make a sequel so people should really appreciate this movie
PLEASE WHAN YOU SPEAK ON BEHALF OF ALL THAT IS DC, PLEASE PRONOUNCE HIS NAME AS "RAYSH" NOT "RAS" AL GHUL. That's the only thing that kept poking me with a needle everytime I watch this movie. I wanted to scream when they kept saying "RAS" in the movie theater and everyone afterwards kept saying it when the movie was over.
I love Rha's Al Ghul because he is very honorable when waging war against the Dark Knight and respects Bruce the most of all men alive (probably). He is wrong in the way that he tries to correct the sins of the world but he respects that he and Bruce have different ideaologies. He respects him so much that he keeps secret the thing that many villains would die to know, Batman's identity. He gives respect by calling him "Detective" and feels guilty whenever he causes Bruce collateral damage.
@magnawiz i know exactly what you mean. A batman comic book i bought in 1999 when I was 8 had the exact effect on me. Bruce is explaining to Ras exactly how he became the batman, he explained that he devoted himself to a cause, and to achieve it, he spent brutally long hours in the gym, perfecting every conceivable skill, and equally long, equally brutal hours in the laboratory training his mind. That's how I learned how that kind of dedication is a true superpower.
@ghostsam24 Yeah :D Success truly is a simple thing. Easy to do but so easy not to do. It's never a destination but the journey. If you're not willing to improve yourself and if you're so afraid of failing and embarrassing yourself then you'll never move anywhere. And stagnant water stinks.
@jmr1068204 If you read the comics you would know Ras Al Ghul was Bruce's mentor before becoming Batman. That's why I love Nolan's movies they stay true to Batman's background story. Type "Ras Al Ghul" on google if want to know more about him. Check his wiki.
I have a question, Bruce seams to be quite an intelligent fellow so why did he kill a dozen or so good guys (for a difference of opinion) for one ass hole.
Liam has made the movie better....Joker is undeniably the best villain in the Dark Night but I say that Ras Al Gul by Liam is the best villain in Begins.
What is this martial arts that Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne) learned im really interested to learn it not only to be a good combat fighter but also for hiding and attacking my opponents plus maybe this will be more usefl for games such as hide amd seek and paint ball i guess so please let me know please and thanks.
@vergilandnero lol the hiding and ninja shit is made up son it's just a movie, but for the hand to hand combat they used the Keysi fighting method but that method sucks ass in real life, you wanna be a good fighter take a boxing class and a wrestling/jiu jitsu class.
@TheKnightTroll actually its true what hes saying it takes patience agility tricks to deceive your enemy and overcome them. a ninja isnt a guy whose in the shadows hes an agent. just that it was japanese agents
the league of shadows are more than right and just, bruce just dont have the stomach to do what is nessesery,..criminals win because our "laws" isnt hard enough to them.
i'd say if you steal because of desperation you need to be punished, if you kill, rape, or steal out of greed, you need to die..no pain, just death
Batman begins is soo underrated >:( it has many adventures and how bruce became batman but i don't know why everybody just talks about the dark knight
@AboAbdulable funny, you say that. I guess you dont understand Batman Begins too well. It was your generic adventure movie. It actually had depth. Bruce Wayne wasn't shallow enough to go on a prison adventure. He was trying to understand criminals so he can find out ways to put a stop to crime in Gotham.
@AboAbdulable That's an uncalled for statement. those people are retarted. Just because the dark Knight is amazing doesn't mean that begins sucks.
Both these movies can easily stand on their own, without each other and deliver an exhilarating adrenaline fueled and emotion experience. But togther, they bring Nolan's Batman series way above any comic book adaption the world has ever seen.
Batman Begins starts strong nd finishes even stronger paving the way for TDK. PS check your inbox bro
Did any of the comics ever touch on the idea that it was Bruce's father's fault? The will to act? Seems a unique perspective. This scene just so completely nails the very fundamentals of Batman's character. Nolan's a master, and the acting is top notch.
"Your training is NOTHING! WILL is EVERYTHING!"
He delivers than line so harshly, but it's so true.
This film did an amazing job at grounding Batman in the real world.

Whil Bruce Wayne was still learning how to spell his name, Ra's was being trained to conquer galaxies!

What is this martial arts that Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne) learned im really interested to learn it not only to be a good combat fighter but also for hiding and attacking my opponents plus maybe this will be more usefl for games such as hide amd seek and paint ball i guess so please let me know please and thanks.
vergilandnero 11 months ago
@vergilandnero
They talk about the martial art that Bruce is being trained in in this very clip. Ninjitsu also known as "Ninpo".
rencrow 9 months ago
@vergilandnero lol the hiding and ninja shit is made up son it's just a movie, but for the hand to hand combat they used the Keysi fighting method but that method sucks ass in real life, you wanna be a good fighter take a boxing class and a wrestling/jiu jitsu class.
TheKnightTroll 9 months ago
@TheKnightTroll actually its true what hes saying it takes patience agility tricks to deceive your enemy and overcome them. a ninja isnt a guy whose in the shadows hes an agent. just that it was japanese agents

i thought ras al ghul was arab? lol wtf
kinglynx 11 months ago
@kinglynx
He is. Or at least he's supposed to be. Liam neeson could pass off as an arab from syria or lebanon, though he looks more turkish than arabian.
rencrow 11 months ago
how come later in the movie, that other "fake" ras al ghul is still alive?
kinglynx 11 months ago
the league of shadows are more than right and just, bruce just dont have the stomach to do what is nessesery,..criminals win because our "laws" isnt hard enough to them.
i'd say if you steal because of desperation you need to be punished, if you kill, rape, or steal out of greed, you need to die..no pain, just death

Would it be possible to engage six hundred men??
mixelandro 11 months ago
@mixelandro
It's possible. Engaging doesn't mean you have to defeat all 600.

Somebody upload the scene where he escapes the league of shadows in that explosion and saves liam neeson by lifting him up the cliffside with one arm

Batman begins is soo underrated >:( it has many adventures and how bruce became batman but i don't know why everybody just talks about the dark knight
AboAbdulable 1 year ago
@AboAbdulable funny, you say that. I guess you dont understand Batman Begins too well. It was your generic adventure movie. It actually had depth. Bruce Wayne wasn't shallow enough to go on a prison adventure. He was trying to understand criminals so he can find out ways to put a stop to crime in Gotham.
regulator619 11 months ago
@regulator619 But the movie was good right???
AboAbdulable 11 months ago
@AboAbdulable Are you joking?? The movie was freaking amazing
regulator619 11 months ago
@regulator619 Thankes =D...i thought you're gonna say begins sucks the dark knight is the best...some people are just ahhh...
AboAbdulable 11 months ago
@AboAbdulable That's an uncalled for statement. those people are retarted. Just because the dark Knight is amazing doesn't mean that begins sucks.
Both these movies can easily stand on their own, without each other and deliver an exhilarating adrenaline fueled and emotion experience. But togther, they bring Nolan's Batman series way above any comic book adaption the world has ever seen.
Batman Begins starts strong nd finishes even stronger paving the way for TDK. PS check your inbox bro

TheUnTrollAbleTroll 1 year ago
Did any of the comics ever touch on the idea that it was Bruce's father's fault? The will to act? Seems a unique perspective. This scene just so completely nails the very fundamentals of Batman's character. Nolan's a master, and the acting is top notch.
