  • whose cheap chinese mnufactured honk is that at 2:40 ??

The Brad ? Man , they really try to be cheap in every element of the tank. Just like the car industry.

  • Thats a damn good driver. No lurch i can see whatsoever.

  • @tanktime19k oh I would never sacrifice strength of armor for mobility, don't get me wrong. It all depends what you're in for. If you need to get a platoon of guys up front immediatly , stryker is a good choice when air transport isn't an option. But when you're taking your time on a heavy assault and troop survivability can take precedence over agility and speed, the bradley is a surefire winner. It's an m113 with a turret and more armor than the predecessor vehicle. I wish they used steel tho.

  • volles röhr in grafenwöhr...

  • What sort of delay is there between seeing a target and engaging it? I'm sure it's just an illusion but anytime I see a bradley vid, it seems like there's a long period before any shots are fired, which creates the feeling that the enemy has a bunch of time to strike. Can somebody clear this up for me? Thanks.

  • you'd be surprised what a jet of redhot copper can do when it hits aluminum :(

  • also, the tracks make it a bit of a turtle when compared to today's modern gun-trucks like the LAV based stryker pattern IFV's

  • @GodlessMartyr666 I don't know man we could that girl up to around sixty pretty quick like, but she damn sure didn't stop on a dime like a Stryker can. But I've seen what an RPG can do to a Stryker and what it does to a Brad and I'd rather be in the old tried and true Brad any day.

  • @oldirtylangston thats true you get the reactive armor plating with the brad as opposed to the fences around the stryker but the brad has aluminum armor, kinda turns into a huge pile of thermite if something manages to penetrate. Hence the reactive plates along the sides, but , I've heard of messy endings when certain anti tank munitions copper jets had melted through the aluminum armor and basically made it part of the "jet" that disabled the brad and killed a few of the crew... its rare though

  • @oldirtylangston

I know a lot of people who are pretty shocked how fast modern AFVs - tracks or wheels - can go. Big "turtles" like the Brad deserve more credit. Besides, even if your fancy new armored car can go 120 miles per hour, it's not outrunning a SABOT round that goes 4000+ feet per second and its paper thin armor isn't going to cut it.

  • I always loved the brad since I was a little shit, seeing the WACO footage of a couple NG brads knockin down walls had alot to do with it, though I would be scared to ride in one with the flat hull, with IED's being the anti-armor weapon of choice used by terrorist insurgents I'd much prefer a buffalo or a blackwater grizzly in taliban country... though they both lack a sufficient standoff weapon like the bradleys M242 bushy

  • Same old Graf.

  • Strkyers can't even come close to the Bradley when it comes to firepower and crew survialibilty !!! Give me my Bradley ANYTIME !!!!!

  • I really hate officers. And nobody is going to salute a douchebag.

  • amen to that!

my tank commander was an LT and i kicked his ass a few times when he got on my nerves...

officers need to be kicked out of their rank bubble every now and then.

  • @oldirtylangston no. I hate offcers that havnt been in as much combat as you! and think they are all that because they are an OFFICER

  • would you salute Major Richard Winters?

  • Hey peterhjort, I guess you can do better in some stupid war video game, right? I bet you're a real killer in "Call of Duty" or some such sh*t. You're a real big e-warrior I can see. Get out there with the men a do it for real if you can you little turd.

  • look like M2A2 ODS version. newest A3's are nice

  • you are correct, it's just the ODS model. I never got to even see an A3 while I was in.

  • Yah I used to shoot UCOFT when I was hammered. That old Atari Game don't count for real trigger time. And yes you can drive around with the launcher up. It just wont fire if you are going over 5mph and the driver gets a red flashing light.

  • Which M2 Bradley version was that you were in? Did the M2 Bradley versions that you went later on if you went to Iraq use ERA on the caged armor like the Strkyers do? Still this machine had critics back then. They thought it was too expensive, the silhouette was too high, there many costs over runs but once it proved itself in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, it proved to be one of the most deadly infantry vehicles for today. This machine going to last a very long time.

  • Just the old ODS models. When we were downrange in '04 we didn't have any of that good stuff. Hell we didn't even get up amored humvees until our last three months in country.

  • Back in the late 80's early 90's Bradley tables were scored like tank tables on points up to 1000. Last time I shot it was T-P-or U grading. This is not a very good table 8, I've seen worse though just slow times on engagements. This I think was not a table 8 targets were too close.

  • It was definitely table 8 it's just the ranges that we had access to in Graff sucked balls. You should have seen the lovely practice range that only had targets out to 1100 meters. Some of the IRETS on these ranges were so close you couldn't get the damn coax down enough to hit them. Most of the ranges I went too while in Germany are like that too. It was my gnrs first gunnery also. We didn't get enough range time for him either, our CO thought the UCOFT would substitute actual live ammo.

  • I hear you though. I fired a table 8 in Korea. You didn't have to traverse the range you could see the whole thing in low mag.

  • Warrior Range was incredibly easy. I was just a private when I was stationed there, but got an ARCOM because we shot 10 Ts. Pretty hard not to though, since like you said you could see the entire range in low mag.

  • I guess they don't number score tabel eight anymore if the gunners all shoot like this guy. If I was his BC I would whoop his ass right on the range. You are not supposed to go more than five mph with the launcher up. This must be a godamn reserve unit.

  • Actually dickface I am the BC, he was a brand new gunner, the range is in Graffenwoher Germany, and the unit was Charlie Co 2/6 INF out of Baumholder Germany. Considering my gunner had never gunned before and we had only been back from Iraq for about six months and we went and shot all our tables with no real practice I think he did just fine. Also considering we shot 8 Ts and 2 Ps we qualified just fine.

  • whaat the hell? you cant drive with the two launcher up

  • Yes you can dumb Ass.

  • that was my fault, a little under the influence at the time. What I meant to say was, you cant shoot on the move.

  • im in but i think he ment like what were they doing, training whise.. bro and i think its just target practice with different weapon systems on a moving platform, but i could be wrong

  • Yup, that's all it was. I still think Comer was a better Gunner than platoon HQ PLT Sgt. haha

  • That's because Comer is super gay for the Bradley he loves that thing. He was a damned good gunner though

  • It's gunnery for mechanized infantry. That is a A2 Bradley ODS. If you're in a mech unit you either get lucky and you're a dismount on the ground and you just have to ride around in the back of the Bradley. Or you get screwed and have to be on a crew. I will say this though the 25mm is a bad bitch.

  • Basically a Bradley is just that. You have the 25 mm Bushmaster, which fires HE and AP rounds. You have the TOW launcher to take out tanks and you have the good ol 240 Charlie coax machine gun for troops. It sucks to get stuck on a crew and have to maintain the vehicle, but I tell you what when I was a dismount I sure as hell liked having that big ass armor shell to ride around in downrange.

  • hey man, I have been wondering this for a long time. I cant find info about it anywhere. how do you become a crewman of one of these magnificent beasts?

  • Join the Army and sign up for the Infantry. You'll eventually find you way to a mechanized unit. Or you could go cav scout and end up in one right away.

  • thanks man. I was just wondering though. Im joining the Marines, but I like all things military and just wanted to find out. Thanks again.

  • If you never served, you won't understand. It's a Soldier thing, it's an Armor thing.

  • I definitely wasn't armor. We were infantry, just got screwed and stuck in a Mech unit. Though it does feel a lot better riding around surounded with armor plating and having an arsenal of quick, mean death at your disposal.
