It was intresting to hear this, but also reassuring, so thank you! I'm 17 and I was diagnosed with Type 1 last Thursday. I, personally, feel blessed that I got it now as opposed to when I was a child. A lot of people with Type 1 don't seem to have that privliage. I remember the first morning after I was diagnosed not wanting to wake up thinking "I can't do this." But I did, and I'm trying hard to adjust to this and everything else that's going on in my life. It'll be hard but I think I can.
I am not diabetic, but i shure know what you are talking about... you got a verry strong soul and it takes courage to share your story on youtube! So good luck with your project , i am glad to see there are still good peeps on the planet ;-)
Your story is so familiar! Amazing video, Elisa! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings on th challenges we face - and that life with diabetes is lonely until you realize there are so many people out there like you!
I cant even express to you how amazing I think you are for sharing your story! I know its helped many and will continue to for years to come. I just needed to thank you and wish you the the best. Stay strong!!
I totally identified with so much of what you said in your video, I've been thru so many of the same things that you have in my years with diabetes. Well done!
I'm wondering what these obvious risks are to the pump. I haven't heard of contracting cancer being an issue. I've been on insulin pumps for about 14 years now, and I've had much better control than before.
@dyaballikl I meant cancer related in regards to having a transplant since they put you on so many immunosuppressants. The only negative id see with a pump is that it malfunctions on ya but other than that I dont see much. Some people get skin irritation but I havent experienced that thankfully.
WOW Out of all the time i have known you I never new you were a diabetic. You are a special person and I knew this from when I first met you. I do not have Diabetes, but 2 of my closest friends have type one, and one has type 2. I make sure they are on top of their game and taking care of themselves always! You are a very dear friend to me and I want you to know you are never alone. My phone rings and my email takes mail besides things to do with gaming! Love you Elisa and stay strong!!
Thank you for sharing your story about living with diabetes and depression, and for spreading the word about the help available from the Diabetes Online Community. Glad to have "met" you here.
Just wanted to say this was a really great video and I admire you for recording it. Hearing your story was very moving and I'm sure anyone who sees this will feel the same way!
I've battled depression at periods in my life (genetic) and I know how it feels to be so low feeling and don't know why but I'm sure this video will help out a lot of people im glad you shared this!

First, glad you didn't worry about the trolls, darlin'. You look beautiful, so don't even sweat it.
Second, you handle yourself extremely well in front of a camera very well. You're very eloquent.
Third, it got a little dusty in here listening to your story. Very inspiring, and thank you for sharing it.
