i know this family..we lived next to them in glasgow pollokshields... and i must say.. we never had a clue what hell she was going through and had gone through.. we knew there were issues in the family home and her mother was nothing like other mothers... when we learnt she had left home we all thought good for her....but this is horrific.. its great to see her doing so well and fighting for this cause well done shameem...
espero que a hollywood faça do teu livro um filme, e que o nome fosse o mesmo casada a força porque eu me belitava a comprar deus te abençoes a ti tua familia Sameem Ali
One should not look down, because there is sure to have a safety net under us, we must be on the build is the only way to be sure it is safe to handle us. People who strive for the happiness of the people who love to forget without themselves wanting more for others ... They are the kind of people who know what they really are fighting for something. It is this kind of people I admire.
i just read this book and just looking everywhere at what she looks like becasue im in manchester too and ive never heard of her. i love this book the best ive read and i hope asian families can see what forced marriages does to young peopel. im from a muslim pakistani family and although these forced marriages used to happen in the older generations, im soo happy that it dosnt anymore. but for those families that carry on this tradition i hope they see sense soon.
i love "Belonging" it's the saddest book ever! i can't believe a mother could be so cruel! very happy that she lived a happy life at the end! true inspiration! :)
I have just finished the book and it was heart-rending and tragic. It brought tears to my eyes. Sameem is an inspiration and a brave and strong woman. I am glad she and her sons have a happy life now.
The book is great, ive just finished reading it. i bought it yesterday and finished it today, i simply couldnt put it down. Some parts brought me to tears and others really upset me. Sameem is brave. I particularly like parts about her childrens' birth. All the best for Sameem and her family.
So sad... Who would do that to their kid. Ugh.
