According to the owner's website, He's since had it supercharged and it puts down 526RWHP without nitrous and 654RWHP with nitrous. He says it ran 9.99 sec @ 138 1/4 mile with a 1.58 sec 0-60 time.

you just described the quickest way to destroy a tranny and get a shitty shift. You dont clutch with the gas on the floor unless you are in a car setup with a clutch pressure sensor and an ECU & ignition system that will hold the rpms when clutched.

Definitely, man. People bag on late model Vettes and Firebirds and Camaros, they obviously underestimate GM's LS engines. GM was using their brains when they engineered those motors. Same goes for Ford with their modular engine too (as much as I really don't like Ford, that modular line has SERIOUS potential. Hot rodders all across the country are getting some mean power out of those without a whole hell of a lot).
@rhynocerous988 LS engines make some sick power and respond well to mods. They are pricey but worth it. Modular Fords are fairly cheap and respond very well to mods. GM makes some very strong large CI engines and Ford does the same with small CI engines. (Small for a V8)
My dad is getting 580whp out of his LS3 with some fairly easy bolt ons and my Stang can probably put down 500hp to the wheels on the stock block with a good supercharger and intake. Lots of love for V8s.

@satanicrawrofdoom there is nothign wrong with using plastic for body panels, alot fo high end cars use it, keep in mind that the vett ( ZR1, etc) uses Carbon Fiber, Aluminum Alloys, all the exotic metals, etc, aswell to make it one of the lightest, strongest chassis out there, not like the plain recycled steel that most jappo cars are made of, which turn into a pile of red oxide in less than 5 years when sold in ocean coastal towns/cities. Jap cars are disposable cars.

@DeftonesFan867 btw the vette motors are cast in mexico then shipped to ontario for assembly. all manual transmissions are completely made in mexico by tremec. the sway bars are made in Germany the brake calipers in Australia and the brake rotors come form Mexico. so yea go americuh, get er done

@DeftonesFan867 btw wasnt hating on the vette, i love those cars. i own a 98 cobra and a 93 eclipse gsx. im not bias towards any certain platform or engine size. a fast car is a fast car. im just saying the 1g dsm's are a very strong platform and very underestimated. a 13sec dsm like in this video means a stock dsm. i sold my 91gsx 5spd for a 93gsx auto. im shooting for a 12.9 on stock fuel system, turbo, full weight, etc. which shouldnt be a problem since the stock fuel system supports 300hp.

I love hearing the excuses after someone runs 2 seconds slower then they thought they would. I love it though, you quit making power 2k rpm's ago but they just keep revving lol. I run autos, always have. It does the same thing every time every run. you just described the quickest way to destroy a tranny and get a shitty shift. You dont clutch with the gas on the floor unless you are in a car setup with a clutch pressure sensor and an ECU & ignition system that will hold the rpms when clutched.

Definitely, man. People bag on late model Vettes and Firebirds and Camaros, they obviously underestimate GM's LS engines. GM was using their brains when they engineered those motors. Same goes for Ford with their modular engine too (as much as I really don't like Ford, that modular line has SERIOUS potential. Hot rodders all across the country are getting some mean power out of those without a whole hell of a lot).

@rhynocerous988 LS engines make some sick power and respond well to mods. They are pricey but worth it. Modular Fords are fairly cheap and respond very well to mods. GM makes some very strong large CI engines and Ford does the same with small CI engines. (Small for a V8)
My dad is getting 580whp out of his LS3 with some fairly easy bolt ons and my Stang can probably put down 500hp to the wheels on the stock block with a good supercharger and intake. Lots of love for V8s.

lingenfelter performance marketed a 725hp twin turbo for the LS1,Z06..... that hardly has anything to do with displacement.
furthermore the corvette is a fast car to begin with, but even so.... that doesn't mean smaller engines cannot use the same science and create more power, which with a light weight...will come out ahead.

@aCombatBaby You're right about a few things,but you forget the fact that the Vette is already fairly light compared to any other sports car.....adding more power just increases its power-to-weight ratio by a big margin....there are already a few bone stock Z06's and ZR1's that can do high 10's with just proper launch and shifting techniques,and still be great on gas.I know that doesn't come to anyone's mind,but these cars can be very fuel efficient,especially when compared to exotics...

@satanicrawrofdoom there is nothign wrong with using plastic for body panels, alot fo high end cars use it, keep in mind that the vett ( ZR1, etc) uses Carbon Fiber, Aluminum Alloys, all the exotic metals, etc, aswell to make it one of the lightest, strongest chassis out there, not like the plain recycled steel that most jappo cars are made of, which turn into a pile of red oxide in less than 5 years when sold in ocean coastal towns/cities. Jap cars are disposable cars.
