exactly. its all about how kids are brought up. I mean. I listen to music of all kinds and I am 18 years old. I hear over a hundred songs per day (yes thats how much music i listen to) about sex, drugs, and alcohol. and I'm proud to say I'm still a virgin and I am clean. exactly. Nickelback, with their "gross" sound, is one of the classiest and more original bands that I have listened to. If anything, they inspired me to have fun in my life. I'm a workaholic college student and what not. And I need a little love and fun. now and then. they inspire me to live life. not waste it..

Yet another great point. My favorite song from Nickelback through the past 5 years Ive been listening to them, is "If Today Was Your Last Day". That song inspires me like nobodies business.

yeah. that is my favorite song too. and actually Just To Get High. those are the two songs that basically say stop wasting your life. All the other songs are just fun and sentimental. Thats what I love about Nickelback

i personaly like this album i like almost all of their songs and i like how they tried something newer it seems more like a party cd to me and i dont believe that it is fair to blame artists if kids are influenced by their music i belive it is from parenting besides the song just to get high kinda discourages drug use.

Nickelback isn't the only band that sets the promiscuous sex and drug addiction.. I mean Def Leppard- Pour Some Sugar On Me? surely thats not about the food. It's about Sex.. And Nickelback has several songs like this one on EACH of their albums. It's who they are. This is Nickelback. Even the last song on their new album "This Afternoon" the country one, is them too. All genres of music have great artists with plenty of talent. And alot of them sing about sex and drugs and alcohol.

I like Def Leppard so I'm not dissing them. But you are being ridiculous. All the music today and the content evolved from earlier music. Nickelback has class too. They are a fun group. But they don't advocate for the usage of drugs. they are against drug use and what not. Listen to Just To Get High. But sex is a natural thing. so it's not a big deal. well in some aspects it is a big deal. But there is sex everywhere. I'm sorry you don't see the class.. but alot of other ppl do.

i totally agree with iowajibber. kids listen to what they can relate to. whether its appropriate or not. I just wrote an informative speech about why music exists. The reasons kids want to listen to music on sex, drugs, and alcohol is because they are already being exposed to the content through school and health classes. it's what they know and they can relate to it. but it also doesn't mean they will follow what the song is doing.

I love this song, the beat and all, but I wish it wasnt about sex. There is too much songs about sex on this albem, and not enough meningfull ones. Just my opinion. I really like the wicked guitar solos though.

This album is so amazing! my boyfriend got it for me! And as for their last album sounding more mature and better sounding.. that is somewhat true. yes.. their last album was more mature. but this one is more FUN. Hell this song makes me want to get up and dance. They also have songs about love on here so their album is NOT just about sex, and getting high. if CYRUS2324 actually listened to the album they would know that! but anyways. I love this album regardless of what anyone says

I did actaully listen to the album. Great riffs and MOSTLY bad subject matter. Sorry but I just find it irritating when a band has so much talent and they waste it on such questionable subject matter. I'm not the only one who thinks this. Lol, you are somehow right. You have two songs called "Shakin' hands" and "something in your mouth" which are about hoes, and then you have this song and "S.E.X" which are about banging. I like these songs though, as long as the beat makes my mood; however, I have to agree with you that there is not much behind the lyrics, although they have been rhymed perfectly well.

actually its sarcastically making fun of the cliche lifestyle that certain rockstars live. The songwriter is not trying to promote the idea, but rather show how stupid the lifestyle can become. Its about how we all aspire to be a rockstar but it's really not all that glamourous. Don't you see the sarcasm in the song? To me the band shows a been there done that sort of idea which is a form of maturity. This band flip flops too much.

BTW, I'm a big nickelback fan, and I'm enjoying the album; however, the lyrics have less value compared to previous songs. I can admit that, and still love the music. I don't get my life lessons from any music, so I don't care as long as my favorite band makes me "get high" on its music. You've gotta admit that most of the new songs are about pulling in and out. That's a fact.

omg. there is no sarcasm in rockstar! they were making it to be glamorous. wow. you're allowed to think that's what rockstar means. but the rest of us KNOW what rockstar really is about and its definately not making fun of the lifestyle. half of the time. its not about the content of the song. its about the rhythm and beat of the music.
