@xxQuickscopes101xx You can drag the axis in Sony vegas and pull it over the line. I also use programs for my Dazzle that allow me to put a black line over it so it won't show and it looks great.

@oSmokeyHD I think it is just a limitation of Vegas Pro and not anything you are doing.  From my experience some mp4's seem to show video & audio when you put them in Vegas and some only have the audio and no video. There are lots of forums that suggest downloading different codecs but I have had mixed results with these. I tend to just stick with capturing in .m2ts.

@k9Territory I capture in .m2ts format, which work perfectly in Vegas Pro 8. I have the same problem as you with some mp4 files in Vegas Pro8 whereby it sometimes only imports the video and not the audio or the audio and not the video. This is down to the codecs used for the mp4 and sometimes by installing these codecs Vegas Pro will import the files successfully but it is quite frustrating trying to identify and install the correct codecs that I end up using another editor for problem mp4s.

@k9Territory In Vegas their is something wrong with .Mov files and .Mp4. What you can do is uninstall quick time and downgrade to an older version of quick time to fix it.

@Mutterjunge yes it does, i think i reduce the fps when editing too so that it views better on youtube. I use it on Windows 7 64bit so should work on 32 bit. Initially when using windows 7 RC there were driver issues but these have been resolved now and I believe there is even a windows 7 update for the HD PVR to address some media centre issues.

on pc you can just use a program like fraps to record in over 1080p but on a console (like xbox 360 and ps3) you need to use a capture card/HDPVR. a capture card will record at ABOUT 640 x 480 (so its like if you put 480p in the youtube quality) and 25 - 30 fps (frames per second, if more than the video will be smoother and you can do more slow motion... a HDPVR will record video up to 1080p in 60 fps!! (1920 x 1080)

Umm only the Hauppauge HD PVR can record games...

No other PVR can record component or other things they only can record normal T.V...

So make sure it is a Hauppauge HD PVR or cancel your order

Not sure if windows movie maker would be able to edit the HD file format that the pvr produces. Your PC would be able to record stuff with the pvr but it would probably struggle playing it back smoothly. I did this recording on a P4 and it didn't look too good playing back on my PC because it kept freezing but when I put the same file onto my new PC and played it back it was perfect.

@bl1ndn1nja Might be the Spec of your PC which causes lag, but if PC Spec is OK then it may be the preview window settings. Not got vegas on PC that Im replying to you on but I think in the top left of the preview window there is a configuration button. Press this and it will allow you to adjust the settings for preview. You can also select a video file in here and it will adjust the preview settings automatically to match the video file.

Type of tv will not affect the capture quality as it captures direct from your console and outputs to PC and loops back to your TV. The HDPVR does not have HDMI Inputs/Outputs anyway, it uses component.

The Hauppauge HD PVR captures in 720, 1080i, and 1080p. Whatever setting you are playing on it will record in that. So if you play in 720p it will record 720p.

m8, usually when i record a video, i record about 5-10 minutes length , the size of a 5minute video is bout 500 mbs, my computer's memory aint good enough to have lots of videos with that size, is there any way to reduce the size(mbs) of the video?

try experimenting with a lower bitrate to see if that reduces the file size but got a feeling it won't reduce it by much. You could convert them to MP4 and delete the original but would lose a bit of the quality. This video is an mp4 so is still ok for putting on youtube and still looks good playing from my PC.

in the capture module under device settings you can reduce the bit rate in there. There is also the option to capture in XBOX 360 format on the latest version of the capture module which will capture it in mp4 format but I had a go and the quality was terrible.
