is your hair color treated? i have really long dark brown almost black hair and I've never dyed it and I'm having trouble finding a good shampoo and conditioner that doesn't leave too much build up on my scalp. I'm using the CHI volume booster shampoo and conditioner (purple bottle) and i like how it makes my hair feel but i don't like the build up it leaves in my scalp. what type of shampoo would you recommend? thanks.. and i loved this video!

here's a little tip for your towels: i only use fabric softener/dryer sheets in half of my towels. I use the ones with for drying my body, because hello, they're soft! :) Use the ones without for your hair as they'll absorb more water, the fabric softener puts like a coating or something on the towels that makes them less absorbant.

In this video you spread the foam from your roots to the ends. WRONG!! 1st things first you used a chemical shampoo which is not good for the hair at all, you need to use a certified organic shampoo, 2nd of all you use just under a 10p piece of shampoo, 3rd you never foam your hair up, if this happens you have used too much shampoo, when you foam the hair it strips ALL the natural oil from your hair completly stripping it NOT GOOD! and also you should brush with a brissel brush not plastic

Some people really do have to comb their hair in the shower, some hair texture need to have some conditioner and running water to work easier through tangles..plus sometimes they actually experience more breaking combing too much on dry hair. I know that works for my self to detangle in the shower... the water and conditioner makes my hair more manageable. Guess it depends on your hair type :) and i totally agree dont pile ur wet hair on your head! lol

Things I used to do wrong with my hair:

1. Put one big blob of shampoo on my head.

2. Proceed to throw all my hair on top of my head and fiercely rub it with the shampoo. xD

3. Constantly run my hands through my hair in the shower.

4. Wrench and twist my past-the-shoulders-length hair like mad to remove the water.

5. Rub my hair with a towel after showering.

6. Brush my hair after showering, when it was still wet.

I know what you mean though, my hair gets really oily so I wash it every day.

What works for me is to wash your hair in the morning and every other morning, but if it's still too oily you should just wash it every day. I don't think it'd really get that damaged. I still wash it every day because my oily-ness too. lol

Great tips to wash your hair properly. But other notes you might want to add are... 1. Brush with a wide-tooth comb. 2. Towel drying is not recommended. I usually just put the towel underneath my hair until it stops dripping. 3. Use colder water when washing out your conditioner because the heat from hot water sucks all the moisture out of your hair. 4. (Extra note when styling it) Don't add perfume into your hair. The alchol dries it up, therefore, you get more split ends. That is all :)
