I dont hate Tarja at all. As a matter of fact, I like? the Progessive Nightwish before Marco was in the group. I like Anette, and I like Tarja. They are both FANTASTIC singers, but this isnt about what I like or don't like. People need to understand that and respect that. This is made for US, and if you dont like anette, then you dont like Nightwish. Bottom line. If you like one but not the other, then you dont like the band as a whole. show some respect where it is due.

@joemoin While there is in theory an infinite amount of chords there are about 5 or so basic ones and only 6 strings...It is almost impossible for ever band to have there own solos, tabs, and power riffs...and have them be 100% original

@htie96 true but we're talkin about a solo a few seconds focoused entirely on one instrument, a lot of people listen to music like this simply for the solo and if its in its purest form a duplicate of a solo already done then obviously the listener is gonna feel cheated by the song as a whole and that can completely put off the listener from not only the song but the entire artist, originality is perhaps the most important aspect of music

Anette probably knew how difficult it would be for fans to accept her and her different vocals when she joined Nightwish, but I think she's done amazingly, she hasn't tried to copy Tarja's vocals. And I agree with you completely on what you're saying.

I have no idea about guitars and music and all that, and nor do many other people, so the main thing in a song is does the music have a good beat and what's the singers voice like. As for Nightwish a large part of their fame came from Tarja's singing voice. Yeah, the music and guitar and all that is an important part, but they don't listen to only the guitar solos, nor would all that many people feel that a song is ruined by a small amount of unoriginality.

Finnish lyrics are a lot different than music from other countries. We have a rich cultural history very unique from the rest of Europe. Tuomas Holopainen had a pretty rough life from what I understand, maybe the lyrics are his way of coping with a tough life, and turning into the man he is now.

@liveyoungdiefast91 Honestly, I dont think the ones I mentioned are bad but most of it is the same. European metal has a diferent sound to it which is good when youre kinda bored with American Metal. Its kinda sad over here since NO ONE has heard of Arctica or Nightwish. Here the"best" bands are Disturbed BFMV, 5FDP and such. American metal needs to be more like European metal. This is part of the reason why I'm going to move to England when I graduate from college.Plus I want the accent too lol
