It's unrealistic to expect that she'd sound at all similar to Stevie, which I think is what some people are expecting. When they were harmonizing on some long notes (like @3:45 - 3:49), they sounded GREAT. Same with "You Belong With Me"...in fact, the only bad part of this whole thing was the few high notes in "Rhiannon" Taylor didn't manage to hit. The rest of it, IMO, was really good.

honestly, i'm not being biassed just because i'm a huge fan, but i didn't find anything too bad about this. at least it proves she doesn't mime a long to a backing track, because she had a few minor issues. the one thing i'd say that wasn't very good was when she was really high during the verse of you belong with me, but other than that she was fine. i just hope she can redeem herself at this years grammy's and prove everybody wrong.

You can tell that Stevie was just being gracious by letting Taylor get louder in some parts when she knew that Taylor was off key, so that it wasn't so noticeable. I think Taylor has a problem with harmonizing and just not use to Stevie's lower register.
personally i thought her first song was awful, 'rhiannon' was meh, and the last one the harmonies between the two just didn't work and swift was like screeching and stevie sounded like she was just grumbling through it. swift just needs to polish her technique, which i'm she's worked on since.

@KennedyDetlef She didn't mess up on the song's tune or lyrics. It's a problem of intonation. She's not singing in tune, especially on the ends of phrases, even on her own songs. But, on the duets, she's singing off pitch with Stevie trying to harmonize, which make it sound even worse. I'm guessing Taylor Swift gets a lot of pitch tweaking in the studio. She's a talented songwriter and her recordings are good, but she could use some ear training to improve her live performances.
I know she sounds a little off, but I read in a magazine that she was having a problem with her in-ears that night and couldn't hear herself. Give her a break, she's amazing!

While she does have some talent in the writing department, every single live performance I've seen her do she sounds not very good.
@Meliam723 she has her off days, but you should probably look at more 3 live performances. Trust me, she is amazing live now. Her voice has gotten a lot stronger. Check out her singing Bette Davis Eyes or Dear John, but make sure their live.

Because she has been criticized so many times for her voice, I wouldn't be surprised if she used one of those pitch perfect microphones to smooth her voice and pitch at her concerts. Taylor Swift's earpiece wasn't working at the Grammy's. I know this wasn't her best performance, but it's kinda hard to sing when you can't hear your voice.

Probably I have something with my ears. Because I didn't hear anything wrong. And even if, who says that she must be perfect every day . She is not a robot. So if was something wrong, so be it. Meh, not horrid, but not good. I don't hate on anyone and I think Taylor has a ton of talent, but if I were her I'd be mad at her recording company for trying to "defend" a so-so performance, and I can't help but take Kelly's side agains them--Kelly is AWESOME live!

You can tell that Stevie was just being gracious by letting Taylor get louder in some parts when she knew that Taylor was off key, so that it wasn't so noticeable. I think Taylor has a problem with harmonizing and just not use to Stevie's lower register.

personally i thought her first song was awful, 'rhiannon' was meh, and the last one the harmonies between the two just didn't work and swift was like screeching and stevie sounded like she was just grumbling through it. swift just needs to polish her technique, which i'm she's worked on since.

Taylor can stick to studio work where they can touch up her mess ups. But to have her play Eponine in Les Mis? It's a disgrace to musical theater. Even though they can fix her voice somewhat, why would they waste their money on that when they could just get someone who has a true voice in the first place.

@KennedyDetlef She didn't mess up on the song's tune or lyrics. It's a problem of intonation. She's not singing in tune, especially on the ends of phrases, even on her own songs. But, on the duets, she's singing off pitch with Stevie trying to harmonize, which make it sound even worse. I'm guessing Taylor Swift gets a lot of pitch tweaking in the studio. She's a talented songwriter and her recordings are good, but she could use some ear training to improve her live performances.

I wish everyone would stop making for Taylor like her "earpiece wasn't working" or she was "sick". She can't have an earpiece problem or be sick for every live performance. While she does have some talent in the writing department, every single live performance I've seen her do she sounds not very good.

@Meliam723 she has her off days, but you should probably look at more 3 live performances. Trust me, she is amazing live now. Her voice has gotten a lot stronger. Check out her singing Bette Davis Eyes or Dear John, but make sure their live.

Because she has been criticized so many times for her voice, I wouldn't be surprised if she used one of those pitch perfect microphones to smooth her voice and pitch at her concerts. I think she's very genuine as a person and I love a lot of her songs, but she should stick to songwriting only.
