I sang this song 20 years ago in high school. Wow the memories. The only thing we did differently was we did "jazz hands" and whispered "yeah!" on the last note. It was funny.
this is the exact arrangement that my chorus is using :) i love that i switched from soprano to alto, because alto notes add the last bit of needed color to the chords. love it! :)
great job I am in a chancel choir at church and we are doing this version looking forward to doing it it is a great challenge especially in the 2 different sets of voices
my chorus is singing this our concert is today at Wilmington Area High School at 7:30-8:30 7th and 8th and the high school chorus. it will be so much fun.
@bigdthewolf omg you are stupid. so you are telling me that for the first 1:20 that the director doesn't direct them at all and his arms remain in that same position? Then the same thing until 3:05? and then once again until the end? You are a moron.
I grew up in the neighborhood surrounding the old GRCHS. I visited the school in the 12th grade, no locks on their lockers. They sing this song just as I would expect form good Calvinist. God blesses them.
Seriously, though, this has always been a favorite song of mine since I sang it with my high school concert choir my senior year (1981-82). Is there any part of the song that you don't like in particular? Do you find the lyrics too repetitive? Not like the arrangement? Without knowing what it is that you don't like about the song, I'm not sure any suggestions I have would help.--Kevin
I learned this about 8 years ago when i was in the North Ayrshire Schools Senior Choir (I sing soprano 1 but I'm not in a choir any more) and I really enjoyed learning it it was probably my favourite piece we ever did
