i was paying as the mets, moises alou got a single to center, he touched the bag and everything. the throw went in to first and the first baseman stepped on the bag and he was out. AFTER THE UMP HAD CALLED HIM SAFE!!!!!

Quick question, I dont know alot about baseball, but does the basemans foot have to be on the base to consider it an out when they catch it? If yes, then he is safe, if no hes out.

Cause it looks like the baseman is trying to drag his foot onto the base

ok, it is only out by touching the base at first unless there is someone at first already in which case whoever is going to make the play will trow to second touch the base then attenmpt to throw to first. same goes for the other bases. in this case this guy doesn't say if there was a man on second and third in which case yes he is out but if no one was on base beside him then that is a terrible call...hope that helped
