If you really knew Portuguese, you´d realize they´re not "pretty much the same". The fact is that most Spanish speakers can´t understand Portuguese, whereas we Brazilians do understand Spanish, at least if ir´s spoken slowly.

@sandmanphl I've always described it as a mix between French and Spanish. Cause that's what it reminds my ear of. I don't know Spanish super well, but do know French and it reminded me of a blend of the two. I know that's not totally accurate, but it's what my ear hears.
