Fulmer has a fine record overall! However, Tennessee has not had a 2 loss or less season since 2001. IMHO, I think this is what Fulmer's situation will be like after 2007, depending on the record:

2 losses or less-Fulmer will be in good shape.

3 losses-Fair or not, there will be serious grumblings.

4 losses-Even if Fulmer doesn't leave, he will have 1 foot out the door.

5 or more losses-Fulmer will either retire or be fired!

Tennessee is actually my sleeper contender this season. That is, the team that very well could still be in the hunt for the national title come the last week of the regular season that no one is expecting right now. There are 4 main reasons I feel this way:

1. Tennessee has a solid team and an experienced quarterback, but no superstars that everyone would depend on.

2. Knowing that people aren't expecting Tennessee to be a real threat, the players will work that much harder to proove everyone wrong.

3. The players will also be motivated to cool Fulmer's seat.

4. The coaching staff is practically the same as the one that led Tennessee to the title in 1998. Who agrees with me?

I think you make some good points,But if youve watched Lamarcus coker like I have you know that he actually is a superstar player for them.

here are my points-

1-Eric Berry..a great freshman CB who made plays in highschool everytime you saw him.

2-David Cutcliff-He made both if the mannings what they are today...now hes making Erik Ainge.

3-Erik Ainges 9-2 record last year

4-If you look at Tenn dept chart last year at Cal Robert Meachem was the no. 3 WR before the game.

5-there were 3/4 losses came from the 4th quarter last year including FL.

Your points are awesome! I think that Fulmer has a great football mind! One thing that has haunt Fulmer in the past, most recently last year against Florida, has been Fulmer trying to sit on a lead late in the game, getting conservative, and playing more not-to-lose than to win.

If Fulmer has his team play to win and grind it out at full pace for 60 minutes NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY ARE AHEAD BY, like Tom Osborne and, I hate to say it, Steve Spurrier, great things are going to happen! Trust me!

You make a good arguement with spurrier, but I think with Florida,Tennessee, and LSU on their schedule(not to leave out number 13 UGA)they will lose a lot.
