Yes.. Except that the oil reserves are nowhere near great enough to make a big impact on foreign oil imports. Nuclear as I said would be a more effective tool to do that.

Doesn't change the fact that American oil reserves are very limited. If America cuts it's foreign demand a little bit (and I do mean a little bit) then supply and demand dictates the price will drop slightly but the Middle East will still be able to sell all it's oil. Actually Nuclear is a much better way to hurt them because that's actually a pretty long term replacement.

And yeah I have no problem with ANWR drilling but I also don't mind high oil prices at all and I know that ANWR drilling won't make a bit of difference in global prices. 7 months worth of full consumption that's a drop in the bucket. But yea go ahead and drill and Nuclear plants are a great idea for the USA.

Btw Eurzone (320 million peepz) just overtook the USA as the largest economy in the world in march. The EU (500 million people) is economically larger than the entire North American continent. Not too shabby huh? And Australia is just as socialist as Canada
