As good as john cena vas shawn michaels was on raw in 2007, I don't think that was WWE's match of the year. In my opinion the only reason it was and is praised so much is because it went like 50 minutes and it was Cena's best match. This match was WWE's match of the year for 2007. Fuck the WWE and for sure fuck the pro wrestling illustrated for not putting this match as match of th year.

There were so many great matches in 2007 that were match of the year quality. Both Cena vs. Michaels matches (at WrestleMania and the marathon on Raw), Cena's bouts with Umaga, Orton and Lashley, Undertaker vs Batista (WrestleMania 23) and Orton vs Triple H (Last Man Standing at No Mercy). And yes...THIS BOUT between Punk and Morrison, which was just simply awesome.

I thought Taker vs. Batista/Cena vs. HBK were 2007's BEST matches but I agree. THIS bout is CRIMINALLY overlooked.

@Blackbohnster, No he didnt, Punk and Morrison was supposed to wrestle for the title at the next PPV, which was Unforgiven, during this time, Punk had already lost 3 times to Morrison for the ECW title and this was his last chance to get it becuz if he were to lose then he couldnt wrestle for the title as long as Morrison was champion, this match was 2 weeks before the PPV they were scheduled to wrestle on, but Morrison got in trouble, Punk was meant to win the title, he just won it early.
