Thanks, i know the MSX. It was pretty popular here in Brazil in the mid 80´s. Golvellius even had a continuation, MSX exclusive. The NES also got some MSX conversions, such as Castlevania and Metal Gear. At first, i though it was some Pc-Engine game.
Cool, I had a lot of fun playing Mr. Ghost, I should try to find this version :).

What console is this game from? The sound seems a lot like the Sega Master System sound chip...

This game is for the MSX standard.
It's not a console; more like a "personal home computer".
The internal hardware of the machine however has a lot in common with that of the Sega Master System.
The soundchip you hear is the Yamaha AY-3-8910; the default MSX soundchip.
SMS used the similar Yamaha YM2413.
Some games for SMS were published also, or even originally for MSX, like Golvellius, Ys, Power Strike (Aleste) and Psychic World.
Check my other videos to see some footage of the latter two.

Yes it is!
This game is some sort of parody/tribute to other video games.
Every stage has a different theme; this is the first one.
System Sacom simply took the code of Yurei-Kun and probably tried to easily ca$h in with this one.
IMHO, it lacks the quality of the original, absolutely brilliant, Yurei-Kun game.
