these commercials were trends setters, I remember going in hip clubs in late 80's and the patrons would dress as the characters in the commercial, it was crazy and, I though, infinity cool :)
That commercial was cool. If Black Label wanted to make a come back, they could reissue that commercial and be a success. I bought a case in Kentucky about two years ago. Average beer better than Bud Light for sure and most other macro swill.
Ahh..sitting in the Bev, or on the patio with all the bikers at the Black Bull, 1980-90..before the bottles were painted, the silvering on the bottle's label would come off in the heat and humidity, and stick to your arm!..
The beer tasted like ass. The American Black label was slightly more palatable than the CDN but probably because it contained less alcohol. The Commercials that Carling made at this time for this beer were very cool and made the beer hip to drink if you were in your early 20's in the late 80s and early 90s. Then around mid 90s the commercials disappeared and the beer didn't seem to be marketed again??
Makes me wish they sold that beer in my area.

Very "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". (Did I spell that right?) And very "Black is Black" (Los Bravos). Wow, what a cool commercial.

Where's Mabel? Black Label used to be one of those beers you took to house parties and never had to worry about other people drinking them:)

black label is the best beer, but you have to drink it at room temperature, not cold like the other beer
jejeroyetompson 2 years ago
Black Label was also dirt cheap back then, and yes, this is probably the best beer commercial I've ever seen.

The beer indeed tasted like I would imagine ass to taste like, but the ads were cool. The Legend is Black and all.
