your car is really awsome but the best thing that is missing is a C56 close ratio 5 speed gearbox of a C160 LSD really close ration 6 speed gearbox it woulb be ridiculously awsome !

@qcgimpyqc Yes, a 6 speed sequential, that could have been fun. But such a gearbox cost 10 times as much as the whole car ;-) This car died long time ago, not in a accident, but the new owner drop't it from a forklift when changing the engine, dooooh! I really miss this car and if the money alows it, I will build another some day. But this time with a bike engine, theese have sequential gearbox ;-)

Well, when I ran on 95octane it sounded more agresive. At 98octane it sounded more like an stock daily driven car, no "gunshots" from the exhaust.

So you got higher compression ratio than a Blacktop and still run 95 octane? Wouldn't it produce a little more power with 98 and be a bit less prone to knock at high rpm? I am just wondering cause I run a Blacktop myself and it always runs on 98 but I have never had it on a dyno to see the difference. Maybe you know.

@Minnesotawhite - Thanks man. This Silvertop are a bit modified, and the compressionratio are rised to 11,8:1 and still running on 95octane. It puts out 8hp more than a stock Blacktop with open ITB's.

@Evolution20v Yea thats true. Im just running a stock black top which is 12:5:1 , Which is built to the max, and thats all she wrote. My other one is a gti liftback with the 4agze which is all stock, stock supercharger and that ones pretty fun. Keeps up with the black which pisses me off cuz got way more in the black, which was a complicated swap. But i like yours though i always wanted to do a scarlet conversion. Keep it a sleeper though. ( I LIKE THE SLEELIES HA CLASSIC YOTA)

Did you keep the exterior of this car stock on purpose? I like the idea of a sleeper, everyone looks at it like a low slow piece of shopping trolley while it will outrun most GTI's and so on. Very cool and of course nothing matches the induction noise of a 20V with open intake. Plus the lady seemed to like it ;-)...

Actually when I rev up the engine, people look around for a fancy car and did't even notice me :-) Totally sleeper.

Could u explain the whole conversion process to get the 4age engine to fit? Like mounts, harness, ecu, fuel, engine alignment, etc. Going to by an ep71 and wondering if to go with 4e-fte or 4age.

You need to hammer or cut out the enginebay a bit, then custom build your own engine-mounts from both Starlet and Corolla.

Then fit Corolla AE92 driveshafts, steering knuckles, lower balljoint and brakes. You have to modify the front shocks to fit the AE92 steering knuckles , and file out the lower suspension arm, to make the wheelbase wider, so the AE92 driveshafts fits.

You also need a new radiator. I used a modified Corolla AE101 and fit it in front of the radiator support and removed the hood lock.

You need to custom build the exhaust. I get the best results with 2½" to the middle of the car and 2" the rest of the way, and with 2 straight trough mufflers.

You need to swap a gastank from a Starlet EP71 Turbo or fit a extern gasoline pump, and make a return pipeline.

I used a Ae101 ECU and hardness with a Dastek UniChip, but you can also use the stock 4A-GE ECU and fit the missing wirres from the body (fuel pump, 12v, STA, ground and so)

Its much easyer with a 4E-FTE swap, but the 4A-GE swap is not so common. I was only the second who fit a 4A-GE 20v here in Denmark.

Thats imposible to say, because I took the engine from my Corolla. But about $1500 without the engine. The Starlet itself cost $500

Well, I used AE92 driveshafts, wheelhubs, brakes and enginemounts. Then I made some custom brakets for the enginemounts. I hammered a liltle in the enginebay, to make it fit.

I used the EP82 Turbo gearbox with stock LSD, togheter with a 4A-GE/FE bellhousing. But you can easely use a normal 4A-GE gearbox.

Yes, the ECU is modifyed. Cams are stock. In fact, all parts are stock, exept airducts and header and the head is modifyed.
