Many players in the middle level between the top two and the lower ranks can beat the No1 and the No2 in matches from time to time. But they can't keep it going. They are all lesser players than Nadal or Federer.

well. Nadal did beat sam querrey , who i think has one of the absolute best serves in the world, he also hammered Fish who also has a big huge directed serve. It's just about being attacking rather than anything. Rafa cant counter punch his way to hard court slams. He needs to attack, come in the net like federer does.

Seeding thing is also right but its the same for everyone, federer played 3 qualifiers in his Us open 08.

All I know is that he beat the crap out of novak n murray on hard courts many a times. Murray played really well to beat him at the US OPEN. but it was not an outclass by any means.

Two net cord points for murray, gave him break points against Nadal in the final game, but thats tennis, i am not saying nadal lost cuz of that, but to say he outclassed him, is a way over statement.

it was very windy, which always disadvantage rafa as he depends on timing of his swing, murray hits flat shots.

i dont think murray can beat a fresh rafa not that rafa was tired at us open, but he also wasnt very fit. Murray was also tired. But murray's game does not depend too heavily on strength.

Murray does not has the consistency yet. I think if Nadal learns the way federer wins all his matches then rafa can do well on hard courts and that is, hit a powerful forehand inside the baseline and run towards the net.

yes. That is a big IF. IF safin played consistently, he would have been the greatest player of all time, cuz he also has no weakness, no weak spot. His weak point is his consistency. If Murray can keep up his consistency, no doubt he can beat federer, djokovic and nadal. I agree, he is better than Ferrer and DavyDenko and can be a permanent number 4 if not higher.

I dont think anyone can challenge rafa for the next 5 years on clay. So murray is gonna have to be a fast court player like fed.

Nadal was empty at us open but not that its an excuse. He lost cuz murray played better. I saw that match in toronto and believe me, murray was playing better in that match. when i say nadal was tired, it doesnt neccessarily means physically, mentally he was out of steam after olympics. Next year is going to be interesting as there are now four players for the titles.

I do think Murray is just a form player and we re gonna see the same old 3 dominating.

I actually loop my forehand a little bit with the takeback but it's stil pretty compact, but I could never understand how to loop the backhand.
