Stone City Band FUNKS and ROCKS.....including Tom McDermott...and the Eddie Van Halen inspired Charvel Yellow Striped Black Guitar....awesome band...great music....great artists......funk and rock on !!!
hot hot, summers day 1983 buffalo,ny, mlk park-my basketball team Colt 45 was playing Rick's Stone City Crew....we were warming up-and the court mc plays THIS..straight from the "Joint" Rick's studio in East Aurora, he didn't even lay the vocals yet..I wish you coulda been there-the game was delayed awhile....back then, this sounded like something really from outer space...
During the recording of THRILLER when MJ heard the bassline for Billie Jean. MJ told Quincy Jones Thats the Jelly. He didnt use profanity at the time . When he heard something musically he liked he would call it jelly.
Very, very, nice. We've been thinking about redoing this with musicians that are excellent improvisers, just so everyone can see how cool, hip (and musical) this tune really is. Kind of like Groove Collective (or Brecker Brothers) style, but keepin' it really funky :-)
My theme song!

Why would Michael say "thats the jelly," if I may ask?
When did he ever say that?
