I had too google the movie to see if she really sang and she really did. she actually had SING the songs in the movie. No lip singing. She's pretty good if you ask me

Whats with all the idiots that gotta say Reese and Joaquin are better than Johnny and June. What a bunch of fucking retards. Johnny and June are original, legends. Yeah Reese and Joaquin did great playing them but have some fucking respect, being that you have no sense.
This was the best song of the entire movie. I looked at the "Walk the Line" Special Edition DVD but it did not have a complete performance of Reese Witherspoon singing "Jukebox Blues" and that's a shame. I think the director/producers did not anticipate that Reese would make such an outstanding performance. Perhaps this is why you see it here broken up as it is because this is the only way you can see it.
@Gloryboy16 Thanks for the info. However, UK DVD's are region 2, I believe. They are also PAL formatted. Both would present playback problems here in the USA. I'll look for it here and see if it's available.

@Zauberstern81 Well, the "trouble" with both Joaquin and Reese is that they are professional actors so they must have had quite a lot of voice coaching (which of course doesn't mean that ALL actors make good singers - but, fortunately they both do :))

I read that Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash both agree that Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon played their charakters in the movie "Walk the Line" and I think both actors were perfect for the roles! (Sorry about my bad English grammar, I´ve forgotten lots of since I´ve been out of school:-(.)

@Cypherdude1 The extended "Jukebox Blues" is on the 2 disc edition of the DVD (UK) as is seven other songs featured in the film.
