I have done this my self and i find another way to get the paint ready is to drop cans into a bucket of warm water, this warms up the paint and makes it easier to shake up.

I re-painted my roof of my truck with spray paint, it kept its gloss (as your supposed to use an "AUTO QUALITY" clear coat finish) and color, also zero rust, except for my rear bumper which tended to always get rusty with the original paint anyway (harsh Canadian winters, solution, more coats of paint, and primer) you would even notice the difference if you looked at it...

Geeze people get a clue. Go buy a gallon of Rustoleum, a gallon of Acetone and enough automotive paint enamel catalyst. The catalyst hardens the rustoleum and you can get a professional job if you know how to use a spray gun and prep the body. Using rattle cans is a waste and the paint won't last and will look like a rattle-can paint job. Rustoleum paint is a good quality enamel but make sure you add the acetone to thin it in order to spray it and mix the catalyst per instructions. waallla

I actually did the same to my car, but it took 4 days and alot of elbow grease,sand paper types and paint, but I wanted a matt black which I still clear coated but made matt chemically. I Espescially like my paint job, cause i got a ticket from a cop who had a hard time seeing my car, Perfect for the night runs I do..I just wish I had a chick shaking my can while I did it all.
