He is very tired. I am afraid that people demands so much of him, and he is trying to cope with the increasing demands! So many concerts and recordings! He is great!
@aalexmary You see, Pudovkin is rather demanding. He and Vitas got into a fight at some casino back in 2004 because Pudovkin took Vitas' house and gave it to his then-girlfriend while he was gone. Vitas rarely does interviews, and if he does it is usually with Pudovkin. Even when Vitas was married, Pudovkin made Vitas look like he was single and made up many tabloid stories on him.
@PahangDragonbird Also, these days in tour concerts, Vitas doesn't have as much energy as he used to. He focuses much harder on hitting the high notes. In some recent Opera 2 performances, as well as one of The Star, Vitas sings the regular verses very differently (to prove he's for sure, live, but he sounds "tired" singing like this). Now in most Chinese festivals they allow live singing, but some stupid people might still suspect Vitas to lipsync so he decides to sing like that. Poor Vitas...
Seeing video of him from the beginning, one can see what an adorable and impish teenager he was. Then 5 years later, one thinks he can't get any better. Flash forward to now, and he's unbelievably charismatic. I am looking forward to hearing some new material from him - I am certain just when you think his voice and his writing is as good as it can be, he will amaze us all over again!
I think this concert MAY be lip-synced. I don't deny Vitas can sing live, as he has proven many times. Also have to note how in China sometimes they're perfectionists and they'll make you lip-sync. You can see at 1:40 there's an echo after the first note. However, Vitas does often use pre-recorded backing vocals/echoes, and some live echo filter effects on the sound system. He tripped at 2:53, so it's okay if it was playback, it saved him from a mistake.
I think Vitas is sick or very tired now, and he's not used to wearing the earpiece. When he performed Bird of Happiness recently, he sounded really tired and did not sing any high notes. While in some concert he intends on this (Shores of Russia/China/Latvia etc.)
The poor man was sick during this performance.
