  • Rumble the Room!

Thank you SO much for your tutorial. I'm transcribing your work to a text file that I can reference and I've put this page's link on the top for you.

I like the sound of your chugging low E.

  • @nergalk (yep @ myself)

Spent more time on this and really working with your instructional. I'm getting it. And it sounds NICE. I've been playing guitar for only 2 months now. I have a lot of work to do but your video helps me sound like I've been playing for at least a few years. I'm 38, starting late. Always wanted to play guitar, never got around to it until now.

  • @avatarcollides2day dude I'm sorry if I made you angry, I'm just trying to say something nice... I do realize your 10, and I don't doubt that you can play it better than me, but that comment wasn't supposed to be for bragging, I was just saying nice things about the creator of this video. Oh, and congratulations on learning it so fast! :)

  • I absolutely love your lessons. Thanks for putting the time and effort into them all

  • the best tutorial in the internet

  • @Metalself its really not

  • fuckin sick dude. great instructions. and thank god for tabs!!!!

  • you got the shirt wrong. this is metallica not pantera

  • thanks great lessons ;)

  • dude u r god 4 me

  • PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN: : I play this song this way but on the intro the open G note sounds too ringy. Does it supposed to be like that?

  • @jakeludwig91 the whole meaning with the intro is that you should let the strings ring out as much as it goes, but if you think that a open G sounds to ringy, play the fifth Fret of the D-string (It's the same note as a open G, And infact James plays the fitfh on the d live.)

  • Comment removed

  • Not really a small amount is the norm but if its as long as you are saying theirs something wrong.... not that i am way better but thats my just opinion

  • thanks ur video is the best video i ever saw for lesrning this song

  • Dude your guitar sounds awesome! And thanks this really helped, this is one of my favourite songs ever!

  • great lesson! Thanks!

  • Can you do the solo plz. But great lesson.

  • Can you do the solo Plz

  • thank you so much!!!!!!!!!

  • well when your reading tab its upside down so

    ---3

    ------4

    ---

    ---

    ------

would mean you would turn it upside down

    the hit 3 1st and the 4

and it would go in order of strings

  • dude do u pick the string one time each when u slide down at the beginning? (2nd->7th fret)

  • @kidkaptain yes , on a slide its only picked once

  • @warlockmetal1 dude do u know an effective way to slide down the strings without lifting ur hand?

  • @kidkaptain you mean slide UP. its reversed, remember? are u asking how to slide? all you have to do is pick the 2nd fret on the 5th string and while the note is still ringing just drag the tip of your finger firmly across the other frets and stop at the 7th fret. thats it. youre not supposed to lift your finger off of the string or the note will stop ringing. just make sure you apply enough pressure to the string so the note sounds clean. u get it? idk if i answered u right.

  • @warlockmetal1 ok, but when i try that i usually get to the 7th fret but then when i strike for the 7th fret it barely makes any noise. :P should i press hard the whole time i'm sliding?

  • @kidkaptain your only supposed to strike once-on the 2nd fret. Then you slide to the 7th fret while the note is still ringing. When you reach the 7th fret, the note should still be ringing from when you struck the 2nd fret , except since your finger has slid to the 7th fret, thats the note the strike will be playing now. in order to keep the note playing strong and loud, yes you are supposed to keep your finger pressed firmly against the string.

  • @warlockmetal1 but what if u change fingers when u actually hit the 7th fret string? i use my index for the 2nd and middle for the 7th. :P

  • @kidkaptain No, your actually not supposed to change fingers. You can use either your index our middle finger to start with, but thats the finger you have to stick with for the entire slide. If you change fingers, then that means you are likely to mess the whole thing up. Personally, I use the middle finger for the slide from 2nd to the 7th fret so that I then have my index finger free to do the -6-5- part after the slide...

  • DUDE..Thanx,I needed that:-O

  • i love the pantera shirt.

  • @217pie i noticed that to :D

  • Sorry, but the last riff is not correct

  • thanks alot m8 u have really helped me on the second part of that song =] love ya

  • YOUR ARE GROSO MY FRIEND!!

  • There are many kinds of amps out there, are there any broad/generic settings to get a similar sound that would span a series of amp models? i.e gain/bass/mid/treb and reverb.

  • Im a beginner at guitar. And thanx to you I found out what palm muting is I got a question though. Could the type of guitar affect the sound. I have a peavey amp and I cant get it to sound quite like you make the sounds. Could you msg me and explain please. Like I said im a beginner so dont dis me please. And your great at teaching this stuff. It aint taking me that long to learn the strings thanx to you.

  • @KP5142 It can affect, but maybe u are on your clean channel, go to 'dirty' or overdrive (distortion) channel.

  • @9CRonaldo8Kaka I clicked the overdrive and turned the pre to 8 and post to 2 and it sounds to dirty.

  • @KP5142 yo dude the sound you get when playing guitar depends on the amp and guitar pickup in your guitar. I have only been playing about 1 year or so and i have a roland cube X15 its a pretty good starting amp has got a good enough sound 4 a beginner and gives you can get the sound you want. but if you want an even better sound a marshall amp has a more classic rock sound and its more expencive make so it will be much better. I cant tell you muh about pick ups but they affect the sound as well.
