I trained a female amateur Canadian champ a few years ago. A lot of coaches treat girl boxers differently than their male gym mates. I train girls the same way as boys. They spar with the boys, and when I hold pads, they have to keep their hands up, or get whacked. Believe me, they thank me when they get to competition.

I feel really silly offering any advice considering the fact that you work with one of the greatest trainers of all time, but it looks like you need to raise your elbow higher on your left hook. It seems to be your weakest punch; raising your elbow up a little higher so that it is parallel to the floor will make it a shorter, more explosive, more efficient punch. Regardless, you are an excellent puncher, especially your right. Correcting your left hook will only improve your improve your right.

great job! I go to school for tang soo do, and we spar in class. It's mixed martial arts, so we don't get to do it as much as I would love to, but we get out the mittens more often then before. I love it!! Just love it. A friend of mine said, yeah I'd love it alot less once i get bopped real good in the face,since we don't hit above the shoulders. I'm sure it will be a reality check of course,but I still love the sport. It's not for everybody, and my family, we're all natural fighters
